StatCan report casts clouds on claims of a widespread labour shortage in Canada

OTTAWA – A new report is casting doubt on the idea that Canada is facing a widespread labour shortage and bolsters the arguments by some labour economists that high job vacancies aren’t due to a shortage of workers.

The Statistics Canada analysis finds there are no labour shortages for jobs that require high levels of education, suggesting other factors, such as a mismatch in skills and pay, might be to blame for a high number of empty positions.

Trudeau is a lying bastard shilling for the corporate class. Stupid, greedy and evil people run this country and they profit from the pain mass immigration inflicts on you and your family.

Would you pay $800 a month to live in a closet? In Vancouver, that may be all you can afford

Two-bedroom basement suites going for $3,000 a month, a single bed in a room listed for $1,000 a month, and windowless closets renting for $800.

Expensive rent in Metro Vancouver is nothing new, but renters searching for a home in the region say the listings they’re coming across have reached a whole new level of absurdity.

“It’s out of control,” said Laura Herbert, 48, who is trying to find an affordable home for her adult son, who has a brain injury and lives off $1,400 a month in disability payments.

The Liberal Party makes you live like your in the 3rd World. If you voted for Trudeau you should be dipped in shit and run out of town.

B.C. rest areas, park-and-rides fill with people who can’t afford a home… Trudeau Government announces fast track for immigrant family reunification

Canada is being turned into a 3rd world shithole state by the Trudeau government.

Glen Henderson has had a run of bad luck.

He sold his home during the pandemic and was priced out of the market. He lost money in a scam involving a friend. He battled depression.

“And this is where I am now,” he said Thursday, standing outside his camper at the Cole Road rest area in Abbotsford.

And the best way to deal with a housing crisis is always to make it worse.

New system will bring families of immigrants to Canada faster: Fraser

OTTAWA – Immigration Minister Sean Fraser says the government is using a new system to bring spouses, children and parents of recent immigrants to Canada more quickly.

Family members who want to move to Canada can apply to join their sponsor while they wait for their permanent residency to be approved, but they’re often denied the necessary visa because of concerns they’re unlikely to leave once it expires.

‘Not a simple story’: Labour shortages aren’t being driven by lack of highly educated job seekers

Shortages appear to be mostly centred in jobs requiring little education

Labour shortages in Canada appear to be mostly centred in jobs requiring little education, while employers finding it difficult to fill positions requiring higher levels of education probably aren’t facing challenges because candidates lack the necessary degrees, suggests a new research paper from Statistics Canada.

And mass immigration is going to solve this? To whose advantage?

Teacher alleges ‘state of crisis’ at Mississauga school, board launches investigation

School board officials say they are investigating conditions at a Mississauga middle school after an anonymous letter alleged it is in a “state of crisis” and unsafe.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Peel District School Board said it is aware of the letter describing violence by students at Tomken Road Middle School, located in the Applewood Heights neighbourhood. The school, which runs from Grade 6 to 8, has about 900 students.

News of the investigation comes after a letter began circulating on Twitter on Saturday. In an interview with CBC News, the teacher behind the letter said students at the school are out of control.

Why isn’t diversity making that school stronger?

LEVY: Mississauga school plagued by violence – do woke boards care?

A Peel region school teacher has penned a candid letter pleading for help with the out-of-control violence, vandalism, threats and harassment at her Mississauga middle school.

The letter, obtained by lawyer and anti-woke activist Michael Teper, says Tomken Road Middle School is rife with “countless unsafe interactions on a daily basis” – directed at teachers, custodians, support staff, office administrators and other students.

… It’s all under the guise of addressing woke ideology like anti-black racism, oppression, colonialism, pandering to BIPOC students and calling out white supremacy – instead of providing a positive learning environment for all students.

Shut down the teacher’s colleges and rebuild them from the ground up, previous staff need not apply, OISE is a madhouse. Smash the unions, fire the woke or lose another generation to woke racism.

And end multicult and mass immigration.

American and British voters are being failed by the same big immigration lie

Some political issues stand on their own, hardly overlapping with other areas of government. Then there are those which affect almost everything else. Immigration is one such issue. Because immigration is not just a matter of people coming into the country. It affects the NHS, education, crime, housing, law, foreign policy and national identity. To name just a few.

That is why all developed countries are struggling with it. In America, millions of people are now flooding annually across the southern border. Donald Trump never did finish building his wall, and certainly never got Mexico to pay for it. But President Biden has both allowed an increase in the flow and pretended that he is trying to stop it. It is not dissimilar to what is happening in Britain. The Conservative Government has said that it is going to cut both legal and illegal migration at the same time as overseeing a historic surge in both. The public in both countries can see this and its consequences.

Immigration myths, busted

Because immigrants also get old, we’d have to keep bringing in more to take care of the new old people.

After the media bigged up the expiration of America’s Covid-era Title 42, which enabled the US to block entries into the country, the anticipated stampede across the southern border doesn’t seem to have occurred. No worries, then? Behold the miracle of social adaptation. Before the handy illegal immigrant ejection seat was retired last week, illegal entries from Mexico had risen to 11,000 per day — if sustained, more than 4 million per year, and that’s after 2.3 million southern border apprehensions last year. The record-breaking influx had already become a stampede, and apparently people can get used to anything.

Douglas Todd: NDP goes after housing ‘profiteers’ in cabinet and big business

Analysis: “Politicians are profiteering on housing,” says the NDP’s Jenny Kwan, as Canada’s housing minister buys a second rental apartment.

It’s time to make life difficult for federal politicians and big corporations that “profiteer from housing,” says the federal NDP’s housing critic.

Liberal cabinet ministers who play the real-estate market for personal gain — and the giant housing corporations to which they have given massive tax breaks — need pushback, says Vancouver East MP Jenny Kwan.

Why does the MSM avoid discussing mass immigration’ impact on the housing shortage? Because many pols profit from it.

Last year, 62 Liberal MPs (including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau) received money from investment properties, as did 54 Conservative MPs; six Bloc Quebecois MPs, and four NDP MPs (not including leader Jagmeet Singh).

Inside Canada’s most popular people smuggling route

The water of the St. Lawrence River runs brown in tempestuous weather. Hemmed in by coarse scrub, it swirls around the marshes and through the channels, the tips of the waves white and frothing as it charts a course from the Great Lakes to the North Atlantic Ocean.

Even in mild weather, the river must be navigated carefully for cross-currents, shallows and shoals. The locals know not to tempt it when it’s choppy.

John Ivison: Some ‘refugees’ have found a way to exploit Canada’s generous immigration system

OTTAWA — Sudanese people crossing the border from the U.S. to make fraudulent refugee claims are like “a trail of ants” who view Canada as a “the picnic table.”

That’s the view of Mariam, a Sudanese-Canadian, who is affronted that her fellow citizens would abuse this country’s generous immigration system.

Few people get as upset about the manipulation of the citizenship process as those who have gone through it themselves and played by the rules.

This is a Justin wet dream.

Six on FBI terror watchlist arrested on US border in two days – bringing 2023 total to 88

Six potential terrorists were detained by border patrol as they tried to illegally enter the US from Mexico on Friday and Saturday – marking 88 people on the same FBI watchlist nabbed on the border in 2023.

Five men were caught trying to cross the border between official points of entry by Arizona border patrol in the Tucson Sector on Saturday, according to a report by Breitbart. At least one of the men was a Pakistani national, according to the Washington Examiner.

All were found to be non-US citizens who were on the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Dataset which records known or suspected terrorists, or associates of both.

Afghan national on the FBI’s terror watchlist apprehended in California

When people think of illegal immigrants brazenly crossing into the United States, usually it is assumed that they are Mexicans or Central Americans. The truth is that illegal immigrants come from all over the world. Migrants from more than 160 countries have been apprehended at the southern border, including people listed on the FBI’s terror watchlist.

Two solitudes emerging on immigration in Quebec

Quebec sovereigntists were buzzing last week as if they’d found an issue to breathe new life into their cause: the federal government’s expanded immigration targets.

Actually, it’s not really new: Ottawa’s plan to increase the number of immigrants to 500,000 a year by 2025 was released more than six months ago.

The Trudeau government may not have officially adopted the Century Initiative’s goal to increase Canada’s population to 100 million but they’re working on it just the same.

Neither the CPC or NDP will raise the issue out of fear of being labeled “racist” and a need to please the corporate class.
