Why are young men drawn to extremist aesthetics?

Robert Crimo III is part of a troubling trend among mass shooters

Before law enforcement released his name to the press, Robert Crimo, III — or his digital persona — was a largely ignored figure on the internet. The 22-year-old was a SoundCloud rapper who went by the name “Awake”, whose music went virtually unnoticed. But since the Highland Park shooting, it has been played for tens of thousands of people all over the nation. His apocalyptic clichés, odd filming locations, and the meaningless symbols he’d chosen to tattoo onto his face were all analysed by amateurs and professionals alike. It was just the sort of attention he’d always craved.

Inside a Uvalde Classroom: A Taunting Gunman and 78 Minutes of Terror

A teacher who survived the mass shooting recounts the harrowing attack and desperate wait for a rescue.

UVALDE, Texas — The first shots came from the hallway outside the classroom. Arnulfo Reyes, a fourth-grade teacher at Robb Elementary School, quickly remembered the active shooter training he had rehearsed so many times and told his 11 students to lie under their desks and “act like you are asleep.”

A black shadow appeared at one of the classroom doors and a plume of fire flared from the tip of what looked like a rifle. Mr. Reyes felt a bullet piercing his arm, tearing off a chunk of flesh and bone. Then the gunman turned on the children. The rampage was so brutal and so swift, the teacher said, that he did not hear a single whimper from them as their bodies were shredded.

A Bitter Harvest

Have societal valorization of victimhood and the rise of “grievance industries” contributed to mass shootings like the one in Highland Park?

The 21-year-old alleged perpetrator of the mass shooting at a Highland Park, Illinois Independence Day parade, which left seven dead and dozens injured, is apparently cooperating with police, who remain unsure as to his motive. Police apprehended the suspect, Robert E. Crimo III, without incident as he tried to flee the scene while attired in women’s clothing. Lake County state’s attorney Eric Rinehart charged Crimo, who fired some 70 rounds from an AR-style rifle, with seven counts of first-degree murder. If convicted, he faces a mandatory life sentence.

Highland Park shooter tried to kill himself ‘MULTIPLE TIMES’

Highland Park shooter Bobby Crimo III reportedly tried to kill himself at least twice in front of friends – only for his father to allegedly block a concerned local who flagged his suicidal tendencies in a private Facebook message.

Former friends and parents have now revealed the lonely child experienced a ‘downward spiral’ and had attempted suicide and talked about overdosing.

A mother of two of Crimo’s skatepark friends, who asked to remain anonymous, said the 21-year-old used to come to her home often in 2016 and 2017.

Robert Crimo III told cops he was a depressed drug user

Confessed Highland Park shooter Robert Crimo III admitted to cops three years ago that he was a depressed teenage drug user when quizzed about threatening to “kill everyone” in his family, newly released documents show.

A Highland Park police report details why the then-18-year-old alleged shooter was flagged as a “clear and present danger” in 2019 — just a few months before his dad helped him start amassing the arsenal he allegedly used to kill seven and injure dozens at his local Fourth of July parade.

Did reefer drive the Highland Park parade ‘killer’ Robert Crimo to madness?

You don’t need to be a psychiatrist to know that the Highland Park shooter is sick in the head.

His evil act is unfathomable, but he does fit a familiar pattern of mass killers: alienated young male stoners who appear to be in the grip of a distinctively American madness.

Those who knew the 21-year-old suspect, Robert Crimo III, say he habitually smoked cannabis, a habit he appeared to share with young mass shooters, including at Uvalde, Dayton, Parkland and Aurora.

Robert Crimo’s dad washes hands of guilt but talked with son about a mass shooting night before Highland Park massacre

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. – The dad of the accused Fourth of July parade killer told The Post on Wednesday that his son talked about a mass shooting in Denmark the night before launching his own massacre — and washed his hands of any guilt over how the suspect got his gun.

The father, Robert Crimo Jr. — who has tapped one of R. Kelly’s lawyers to battle claims he helped his mentally disturbed kid buy guns — said that the night before Monday’s shooting, he and son Robert Crimo III discussed the 22-year-old Danish man who shot and killed three people at a mall outside of Copenhagen on Sunday.

“He goes, ‘Yeah, that guy is an idiot.’ That’s what he said!” the dad recalled his son saying of the Denmark shooter.

Highland Park shooter Robert Eugene Crimo reveals he planned a second shooting in Wisconsin

Highland Park shooter Bobby Crimo appeared in court on Wednesday morning to be charged with multiple counts of murder as prosecutors shared more details of his deadly rampage.

Crimo, 21, spoke softly to tell the court that he did not have a lawyer, and to ask for a public defender. He was dressed in all-black, wore his long dark hair draped over one eye and shifted on his feet as he appeared via Zoom from a room in the Lake County Jail.

He was denied bond by Judge Theodore S. Potkonjak, and will remain in custody until his next court date on July 25th.

Father of July Fourth shooter helped son buy firearm just two months after cops took away his collection of knives when he threatened to ‘kill everyone’

The parents of Highland Park shooter Robert ‘Bobby’ Crimo III, 21, have finally spoken out about their son’s heinous actions – and branded them a ‘tragedy’ – after it emerged the shooter’s dad helped him buy a gun despite cops earlier removing a weapon from him.

Bob Crimo and his wife, Denise, said in a brief statement: ‘We are all mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, and this is a terrible tragedy for many families, the victims, the paradegoers, the community, and our own. Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers go out to everybody.’

But it emerged on Tuesday that Bob Crimo had sponsored his killer son’s application for a gun permit in 2020, even after the murderer had threatened to kill himself and his family.

The strange rush to politicize the Highland Park massacre

Not all mass shooters are inspired by Trump or Antifa

Every time an evil man steps out onto American streets (or into schools, churches, et cetera) and sprays enough bullets to earn his status among mass rather than normal shooters, there is a plainly undignified rush to determine his political beliefs.

Mass shooters can be political animals. Dylann Roof, for example, was a seething white supremacist. Micah Xavier Johnson was a black nationalist. Omar Mateen represented militant Islam.

The rush is necessary in light of the media’s desire to memory hole incidents that run counter to the preferred Liberal-Left narrative.

The example of Omar Mateen cited by the author is a case in point, the preferred media deflection is to classify the attack as “homophobia” and not as an act of “Islamist” terror. The media exploit whichever “victimhood” advances the narrative and ideally hurts the “Right.”

No, Robert “Bobby” E. Crimo III Is NOT a MAGA Guy

Social media is currently being overrun by people trying to say alleged Highland Park mass murderer Robert “Bobby” E. Crimo III was a MAGA guy. They point to an odd “Where’s Waldo” image where he appears to be at a Trump event of some sort as their primary piece of evidence. There’s another image of him wearing a Trump flag as a cape, but it appears to be done in mocking fashion.

Motive likely not terror-related in ‘brutal’ Danish shooting

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — A gunman who killed three people when he opened fire in a crowded shopping mall acted alone and apparently selected his victims at random, Danish police said Monday, all but ruling out that the attack was an “act of terrorism.”

Police have not identified a motive for Sunday’s attack inside one of Scandinavia’s biggest shopping centers. A suspect carrying a rifle and knife was quickly arrested, and Copenhagen chief police inspector Søren Thomassen said the 22-year-old Danish man also had access to another gun.

He said the firearms were obtained illegally and that the suspect was known to mental health services but gave no further details on either.

Bad things are still happening in Uvalde

If you’ve been following the story of the mass shooting and ensuing police debacle in Uvalde, Texas, you probably remember Angeli Rose Gomez. She is the mother of two sons who attended the school and who received a call while working on a nearby ranch when the attack began. She dropped everything and rushed to the school to save her children, only to be detained and handcuffed by the police when she attempted to go inside. She was not having any of it. Shortly after that, she escaped and entered the school anyway, getting both of her kids out of there.
