Over 50% Of Liberal, White Women Under 30 Have A Mental Health Issue. Are We Worried Yet?

The study, which examined white liberals, moderates, and conservatives, both male and female, found that conservatives were far less likely to be diagnosed with mental health issues than those who identified as either liberal or even “very liberal.” What’s more, white women suffered the worst of all. White women, ages 18-29, who identified as liberal were given a mental health diagnosis from medical professionals at a rate of 56.3%, as compared to 28.4% in moderates and 27.3% in conservatives.

Canadians’ assessments of social media in their lives

Six outcomes attributed to social media use are examined: lost sleep, trouble concentrating on tasks or activities, less physical activity, feeling anxious or depressed, feeling envious of the lives of others, and feeling frustrated or angry. Among all social media users aged 15 to 64, around one-fifth reported that in the previous 12 months, they had lost sleep (19%), gotten less physical activity (22%), or had trouble concentrating on tasks or activities (18%) as a result of their social media use. Around one in eight users (12% to 14%) reported feeling anxious or depressed, frustrated or angry, or envious of the lives of others.

Boulder shooting suspect’s brother describes him as ‘very anti-social’ as a result of being bullied, believes he had ‘mental illness’

The brother of the suspect charged with 10 counts of murder in Monday’s horrific shooting at a Colorado supermarket said in a new interview that his sibling was not trying to make a “political statement.”

Shortly after Boulder Police identified the suspect as 21-year-old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa on Tuesday, The Daily Beast published a conversation with his brother, Ali Aliwi Alissa.

“[It was] not at all a political statement, it’s mental illness,” the 34-year-old Ali told The Daily Beast. “The guy used to get bullied a lot in high school. He was like an outgoing kid but after he went to high school and got bullied a lot, he started becoming anti-social.”
