The lies driving Sadiq Khan’s ULEZ

The London mayor is torturing ‘the science’ to ram through his punishing car tax.

London mayor Sadiq Khan’s planned expansion of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) to outer London has been met with an incredible amount of resistance. The objections to the £12.50 per day car tax are legion. It punishes the poorest who can’t afford a new low-emission car or van. It hurts the disabled and the elderly who have difficulty using public transport. And all of this pain is amplified in outer London, where train, bus and Tube links are sorely lacking.

TERRAZZANO: Gas tax hikes show Trudeau doesn’t care about affordability

Fanatics will always show their true colours

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau refuses to do the one thing that would immediately make life more affordable: cut gas taxes.

The federal government makes you pay a fuel tax, a carbon tax, a second carbon tax and a sales tax every time you fuel up. In total, federal taxes add about 31 cents per litre to the price of gas, or about $20 extra to fuel up a large sedan.

Net-zero policy hurts everyone but especially the poor. It is class warfare.

Ulez: 171 reports of vandalised cameras logged by Met Police in two weeks

There have been 171 reports of crimes relating to Ulez cameras logged since 17 August, the Met Police has said.

The BBC previously revealed that more than 300 cameras had been vandalised between April and mid-August.

The actual number of cameras affected is likely to be even higher as one report can represent attacks on multiple cameras.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan’s Ultra Low Emission Zone expanded across all of the capital’s boroughs on 29 August.

It’s a good bet Chairman Chow will implement a similar tin pot tyranny.

As we see with Trudeau if a policy amounts to nothing more than virtue signaling without actual benefit but hurts the poor then double down.

Bill Gates and others behind massive deforestation scheme, for ‘global warming’ of course

We’re being held hostage by “green” megalomaniacs with man boobs, and CIA-linked eco-terrorists.

As reported by Joshua Philipp, investigative reporter and host of the Epoch TV’s Crossroads program, Bill Gates’s company Breakthrough Energy Ventures is a main player behind a new deforestation scheme. Per Philipp, Gates and “other investors” have contributed $6.6 million in a “stealth effort” to a California startup called Kodama Systems, which is offering a “novel” approach to the net zero agenda.

Net Zero is condemning more Brits to energy poverty

Here’s another great idea from the net zero establishment: only heat your home when it is warm and sunny outdoors. In its Sixth Carbon Budget paper, the government’s Climate Change Committee advises homeowners to turn their heating on in the afternoon, so that they can turn it off again during the evening when demand for electricity is higher. ‘Where homes are sufficiently well-insulated,’ it says, ‘it is possible to pre-heat ahead of peak times, enabling access to cheaper tariffs which reflect the reduced costs associated with running networks and producing power during off-peak times.’ In other words, boil yourself when the outdoor temperature is relatively warm, and with any luck you might still be tolerably warm when it is freezing outdoors at eight in the evening.

The return of animal sacrifice

Net Zero is a neo-pagan religion that is seriously harming people’s liberties and livelihoods.

We look back with bewilderment at the ritual sacrifice of animals by our ancestors. Whether it was the Celtic people’s sacrifice of livestock to appease pissed-off deities or the Ancient Romans’ slaughter of oxen so that Jupiter might be more sparing with his stormy weather, it was all a bit mad. We would never be so superstitious, we tell ourselves. I’m not sure that’s true. Consider the proposed slaughter of hundreds of thousands of cattle in Europe in the holy name of Net Zero. This is the return of pagan lunacy, surely.

Jamie Sarkonak: Liberals push Canada toward a net-zero electricity grid — with a stick instead of a carrot

With the announcement of the draft Clean Electricity Regulations on Thursday, Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault has laid a trap at the feet of the federal Conservatives.

Why? Because the Conservatives are best-placed to get rid of these new rules.

The regulations are designed to push Canada toward a net-zero electricity grid — with a stick instead of a carrot. In 2035, they would ban carbon dioxide emissions over a certain level in electricity generation (with some flexibility permitted : carbon capture and storage could be used to mitigate net emissions, and the new standards would be phased in for older plants).

Canadian govt wants fossil fuels mostly gone by 2035, put out by mostly “NO” reaction

It seems that Steven Guilbeault, the Environment Minister of Canada, isn’t a popular as he thinks he should be, what with saving the world and all. His “suck it up, Shriners” message, announced yesterday as part of the Trudeau government’s draft regulations to move Canada ever closer to NetZero, have really ruffled some feathers.

Liberals Ignore the Voter Anger against Climate-Change Extremism at Their Peril

Europe’s climate-change policies are at risk of failure because its governments have ignored the costs they impose on voting blocs that urban elites don’t understand or have contempt for.

The perceptive newsletter EuroIntelligence, edited by former Financial Times columnist Wolfgang Münchau, says, “One of the mistakes policy analysts keep on repeating with growing enthusiasm is to view the world” from an urban perspective that ignores the interests of farmers, rural homeowners, and commuters.

The unspoken story about what it will take to reach net zero goals

Politicians, business leaders, bureaucrats and the media regularly discuss decarbonization and a rosy future where Canada is no longer a net contributor of emissions that are causing global climate change.

But too often, absent from that discussion is what we actually have to do to meet the federal government’s objective to be a net-zero nation by 2050, never mind the ambitious environmental targets that are quickly approaching in 2030.

I give the author credit for coming clean on the fact that the Green-Scam is not realistically attainable even though that was not his intention.

He harbours an unbridled enthusiam for what only a Stalinesque slave state would have the arrogance to attempt.

The UK’s Net Zero zealotry is harming the world’s poor

So much of our foreign aid is being used to keep the developing world down.

UK prime minister Rishi Sunak’s softening on Net Zero will have had many breathing a sigh of relief. This week, Sunak confirmed that oil and gas would still be produced in Britain for the foreseeable future, issuing 100 new drilling licences in the North Sea. This is good news for the UK, but a shift in thinking on climate policy could have huge ramifications for the developing world, too.

Feverish BBC Reporting on European ‘Heatwaves’ Debunked by Actual Temperature Readings

Last week’s heatwaves in southern Europe would have been “virtually impossible” without humans altering the climate, reports the BBC, quoting model-produced work rushed to press by World Weather Attribution (WWA). Humans caused the spell of Mediterranean summer heat to be 2.5°C higher, it was said. This latest study confirms what we knew before, says frequent BBC contributor and WWA founder Dr. Friederike Otto. More to the point, last week’s coverage of these heatwaves confirmed what we knew before – the BBC will pull out all the stops to promote weather fear in the cause of the collectivist Net Zero project.
