Why the Bud Light disaster could cripple the entire company’s many brands for years

Bud Light – The Beer Of Sexual Mutilation Fetishists

The damage done by the casual embrace of a transsexual by Bud Light came at an extremely bad time for not just the brand, but for all the brands sold in the US by the parent company, Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABI). The reason is rooted in a critical aspect of commerce that mostly escapes public notice: physical distribution.

Homeless in Oregon given right to sue anyone for $1k who tell them to move

State dubbed America’s wokest says people should be allowed to stay in tent city without ‘time limitations’

Homeless people in Oregon could be given the right to sue anybody who tries to move them for $1,000 (£796) under legislation being considered in the state.

Democrats, who hold the majority in the state’s House of Representatives, have drawn up a bill which would decriminalise the tent cities which have been pitched on public spaces.

The bill would allow unhoused people to stay “without discrimination and time limitations”.

Doctor Who has degenerated into a right-on lecture

The BBC’s naff sermons make for joyless, predictable television.

I loved Doctor Who as a kid. Especially the monsters. From the Autons, those plastic animated shop dummies which burst through glass storefronts everywhere in the very first episode of the 2005 reboot, to the unstoppable Daleks, the thought of which kept me awake for nights on end. In later series, thrilling terrors included the Weeping Angels – ‘Don’t blink; blink and you’re dead’ – and the Vashta Nerada, flesh-eating shadows that can move.

Sad that good shows are ruined by woke idiots who think their craziness will be embraced if it is packaged just so.

Museum hires therapist for staff traumatised by discussing ‘life in Britain’

A museum hired a professional therapist to support staff and minority groups over fears that discussing “life in Britain” would be too traumatic.

The acquisition of a therapist, at Edinburgh’s publicly-owned Museum of Childhood, came as part of a £250,000 UK-wide research project designed to explore “experiences of race, empire and migration” in museum collections.

Bud Light’s Not-So-‘Inclusive’ Marketing

In explaining her mandate as Bud Light’s VP of marketing last month, Alissa Heinerscheid made sure to hit all of the requisite buzzwords. “If we do not attract young drinkers to come and drink this brand,” Heinerscheid warned, “there will be no future for Bud Light.” “What I brought to that” endeavor, she continued, “was a belief in, okay, what does ‘evolve and elevate’ mean? It means inclusivity. It means shifting the tone. It means having a campaign that’s truly inclusive and feels lighter and brighter and different and appeals to women and to men.” “Representation,” Heinerscheid concluded, “is sort of the heart of evolution.”

I Helped Make Corporations Woke, and I Regret It

I sat in the Washington office of a major airline’s head of government relations, where we were joined by the top lobbyist for one of America’s largest hotel chains. It was 2013, and I was president of the gay conservative group Log Cabin Republicans. I had come to secure corporate support for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which would have banned discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. Pressure from leading corporations, I correctly assumed, would push waffling Republicans to vote for the legislation.

Michael Higgins: The rise of the mob and the new woke crusades

The mob is on the march and it brings with it all its inevitable hatred, violence and persecution.

“Woke mob” used to refer to a group of fairly annoying, innocuous people united in support of social justice ideology, cancel culture, trans rights and, here in Canada, the belief that we are a genocidal, colonial, dystopian state.

Now it’s a real mob; a punch-throwing, placard-waving, obscene-chanting rabble.

Military kicks Catholic priests out of Walter Reed Hospital

General Gender Unicorn Milley

Who could have seen this coming during Holy Week?

Even I, a cynic of the first order, could not have imagined that even the Biden Administration would have kicked Catholic priests out of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Yes, they actually did kick the priests out, including sending a cease and desist order to Holy Name College, the order of priests who had been providing pastoral care to those at Walter Reed.

Canada’s grave errors

Why does a country once regarded as a model of moderation and sanity now view itself as a seething den of blood-soaked bigotry and white supremacy?

Canadians used to have a reputation for being sane and moderate,” Oxford University professor Nigel Biggar said to me on a recent Quillette podcast. “If you have time, I’d like to know why you think Canada has gone the way it has.”

By “the way it has,” Prof. Biggar was alluding to my country’s strange, somewhat manic-seeming lurch into progressive radicalism since the election of Justin Trudeau, whose government now litters its policy agenda with paeans to intersectionality and anti-racism. This has been done with the express approval not just of Canada’s academic and activist establishment, but of the many Canadian journalists who now devote much of their time to hectoring readers and viewers about privilege, systemic racism and “decolonization”.

The Kids Are All Woke

The revolution’s biggest targets are also its smallest.

In my last year of graduate school, when I was plodding away at my dissertation and, although every day more disillusioned with academia, hadn’t yet decided for sure that I didn’t want to be an English professor after all, I attended the Modern Language Association convention at a Manhattan hotel to interview for a faculty job in Georgia. I met my interviewer in his room. We sat on his bed. It was weird. I felt like a hooker. He told me his area of specialization – I don’t remember what it was. Mine was modernism. He started with a simple query: “What’s modernism, anyway?”

2 + 2 = White Supremacy: How Woke Ideologues Corrupted Canada’s Math Curriculum

Two plus two no longer equals four, according to members of the Ontario Mathematics Coordinators Association (OMCA), who consider the equation to be a white-supremacist dog whistle instead of a basic mathematical truth.

According to a webinar created by OMCA president Jason To, proponents of math’s political neutrality who use the phrasing “2 + 2 = 4” are engaged in an act of “Covert White Supremacy.”

Has the Ford government done anything to counter this lunacy?

‘Woke’ US schools scarier than North Korea, says defector

Author Yeonmi Park, who fled being a sex slave in North Korea, slams cancel culture at America’s Ivy League universities

The curriculum taught in US schools is as frightening as the teachings of North Korea, a defector of the dictatorship has said.

Yeonmi Park, 29, who fled the hermit state as a young teenager in 2007, became a US citizen last year. She said she was “embarrassed” to study human rights in America.

Her memoir, In Order To Live, detailing her perilous journey to freedom, gained her an international platform as a human rights activist.

Thoughtcrime Britain

British constabularies are remarkably choosy about which crimes they deign to investigate these days. Any 999-call that does not afford the opportunity to mince around in high heels or kneel in celebration of the cause du jour, is increasingly considered unworthy of attention. Burglary, car crime, and assault are passé, as is shoplifting less than £200 worth of goods. Working-class white girls are raped on an industrial scale, because raising objections might be considered distasteful; teachers spend their lives in hiding after blasphemous free speech lessons, and autistic children suffer death threats unopposed.
