Less than half of Toronto residents approve of Mayor Olivia Chow’s performance: poll

Less than half of Toronto residents approve of Mayor Olivia Chow’s performance, according to a new poll.

The Leger survey asked Toronto residents about their mayor as part of a broader poll on Ontario politics. Respondents were almost evenly split over Chow’s handling of municipal affairs as she nears the end of her second year at the helm of Canada’s largest city. Slightly less than half (48 per cent) of people strongly or somewhat approved of her performance, while 42 per cent said they strongly or somewhat disapproved. Another 10 per cent said they were not sure.

Local feral not guilty of murdering homeless man she helped stabbed to death – gets off with manslaughter

Girl accused of fatally stabbing Kenneth Lee in swarming case not guilty of murder

The teen girl accused of stabbing Kenneth Lee to death is not guilty of murder, a Superior Court judge has ruled.

The girl, who was 14 at the time, is guilty of manslaughter — a lesser offence she pleaded to at the outset of her trial in February. That admission was rejected by Crown prosecutors as they pursued the murder conviction.

Justice Philip Campbell’s decision Friday afternoon means none of the eight girls charged with swarming 59-year-old Lee will be found to have actually been the one to fatally stab him.

The New Diversity! Massa Chow To Segregate Homeless Blacks!

‘Black-mandated’ homeless shelter on way, City Hall confirms

Toronto officials are taking applications until Friday for city council’s new “Black-mandated” shelter, where everyone from employees to the homeless could be excluded on the basis of race.

City Hall has also decreed that experience in running a shelter is not a requirement for those submitting applications.

What a shithole.

WARMINGTON: Will Olivia Chow attend this year’s Walk with Israel?

Known for dressing up at events, Olivia Chow does not have to wear a United Jewish Appeal T-shirt Sunday if she doesn’t want to.

But, her council colleague says it would be appreciated if the Mayor joins the 50,000 or so other Torontonians expected to participate in the UJA’s 56th annual Walk with Israel event – or at least just make a brief appearance to wish everybody well.

It’s obvious whose side Chow is on so it makes no sense to have her attend as it simply provides cover for her despicable self.

Toronto council approves ‘bubble zone’ bylaw limiting protests

After more than a year of debate, Toronto city council approved a controversial motion on Thursday to limit protests outside places of worship, schools and child-care centres.

The bylaw, which will come into effect July 2, allows owners of these institutions to apply for temporary zones of 50 metres within which protests would be banned. This is an increase over staff’s initial recommendation of 20 metres. According to city staff, there are 3,000 buildings in Toronto that could qualify.

Our Men in Blue have proven very effective at arresting Pro-Life demonstrators who run afoul of abortion clinic bubble zone restrictions.

Why am I doubtful they will deal as effectively with incursions from the same politically connected LPC-NDP-Hamas alliance?

‘It is shameful’: City staff slammed for leaving Toronto rooming-house tenants in ‘inhuman conditions’

Mayor Olivia Chow is criticizing the “uncaring” culture of Toronto’s public service, after an accountability watchdog found the city failed to act while tenants in a rooming house went without basic utilities for six months.

At a council meeting on Wednesday, the mayor and other members grilled city officials over the investigation ombudsman Kwame Addo released last week, which found bylaw officers failed to enforce rules that are supposed to protect tenants after a minor fire in a rooming house in 2023 led to an extended shut-off of its heat, water and power.

As the residents resorted to sleeping in coats and boiling water in order to bathe, bylaw officers didn’t visit the property until more than two weeks after tenants submitted a request, according to the report. When they did arrive, they failed to collect evidence or use their authority to restore the utilities.

Toronto may have to scale back on FIFA World Cup budget after provincial ‘crawback’: Chow

Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow says the city is facing a nearly $40 million shortfall in money needed to host six FIFA World Cup matches next year, after a new report revealed that a substantial amount of funding pledged by the province will be used up for various services.

Chow said the city did not anticipate service costs — including “beautification” of transit stations and security — to absorb nearly one-third of the $97 million contribution pledged by the Ontario government.

“The city cannot afford to pay more than what it can pay now. We can’t go and find any more cash, we just don’t have it,” Chow told reporters at a news conference ahead of the city council meeting Wednesday.

What a scam.

‘Financial landlords’ driving up rent prices in Toronto faster than other types of landlords: study

A group known as “financial landlords” are driving up the cost of rental housing in the city, worsening affordability, according to a new study by researchers at the University of Waterloo.

Financial firms, including private equity, asset managers, and real estate investment trusts (REITs), have been snapping up rental housing stock in Toronto for decades and according to the study, these groups charge monthly rents that are 44 per cent higher than the average neighbourhood price in Canada’s largest city. This represents about $670 more on average per month, according to the researchers.

Until the Feds shut the immigration floodgates this will only get worse. And worse is what they want.

AGAR: Numbers mean nothing when it comes to woke agendas

Yet another renaming will take place in Toronto, supposedly to protect the safety and feelings of minorities.

Did anyone ask the minorities if that is what they want?

The latest is the plan to rename Dundas TTC station, which follows the renaming of Yonge-Dundas Square to the slave nation-inspired word Sankofa. Get the cruel — and one would think counter-productive — irony?

Toronto has greater priorities than a woke name change

There is no better indication of a government’s true priorities than its budget and how it spends its money. Secondary to that are the issues it chooses to spend its time on.

This is why the agenda for the Toronto city council board for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is so concerning.

These useless parasites need to be removed from office.
