Democrats are back in Congress after their shutdown to launch another anti-Trump hoax.
This time, it’s not a fictional “pee tape” but the old Epstein horse they keep flogging.
On Wednesday, House Oversight Committee Democrats selectively released three emails among 23,000 handed over by the estate of the late pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein to try to implicate Donald Trump, yet again, in Epstein’s sexual abuse of underage girls.
For the last several months, Democrats have been trying furiously to tie Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein. Aside from the fact that this media campaign is obviously not organic, it’s utterly bizarre and disingenuous. Democrats simply don’t care about ties to Epstein, and never have. They only care that these allegations can be used to possibly harm Trump.
For instance, the evidence tying Bill Clinton to Jeffrey Epstein is far stronger than that involving Donald Trump, and Clinton spoke in primetime at the Democratic National Convention last year and is hardly persona non grata. Similarly, LinkedIn’s billionaire founder Reid Hoffman is a Democrat megadonor who was actively involved in funding the lawfare efforts against Trump and other deeply unethical efforts to help Democrats — including overt attempts to deploy Russian disinformation tactics in Senate races.

Democrats on the House Oversight are not wasting any time releasing key excerpts of the Epstein files, despite having been out of town for the last seven weeks. On Wednesday, the minority on the committee released a trio of emails allegedly showing notorious sex abuser corresponding about his friendship with President Trump and how the president once spent time at Epstein’s home with one of the pedophile’s victims.
In the emails released Wednesday, Epstein is allegedly seen corresponding with his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, who is now serving a 20-year sentence on sex trafficking charges. Mr. Trump is also weighing whether or not to commute Maxwell’s sentence.
Donald Trump has said he feels he has “an obligation” to sue the BBC over its editing of one of his speeches, as a deadline looms for the corporation to respond to his billion-dollar legal threat.
The US president accused the broadcaster of having “defrauded the public” with an edition of Panorama last year that spliced together two parts of a speech he made on 6 January 2021 and has given it until Friday to respond.
It is seen as one of the main factors in the shock resignation on Sunday of Tim Davie, the BBC’s director general, and Deborah Turness, the head of BBC News.
It always hurts when a Tim gets disgraced, but if the scalp fits the hat, wear it. Tim Davie had to resign as Director General of the BBC, as did CEO of News Deborah Turness, because the litany of errors on their watch was so great as to indicate a cultural rot from the head down. That rot has put the very future of the corporation in doubt. The BBC’s whole business model was to stake its survival on being a paragon of honesty. If it is caught lying – this brazenly, this often – consumers will revolt.
The Corporation was already in the soup for protecting vast egos accused of very different things – Gregg Wallace, Gary Lineker, Huw Edwards – and for offering a platform for anti-Semitism, but the dossier of biases that recently fell into the Telegraph’s lap took things up a notch.
After the initial shock wore off, it became quite clear to many of us that something nefarious was behind the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the Capitol Complex. Things were too pat. Narratives were set and eagerly parroted by the media within hours. Buses filled with non-MAGA people were reported and verified by congressional reps. And there were “bombs” found at the Democratic National Committee and later at a club near the RNC. Impeachment talk was openly discussed.
Donald Trump has threatened legal action against the BBC and welcomed the resignations of two of its most senior figures after a campaign against the broadcaster that reached fever pitch over criticism that its flagship documentary programme in 2024 used a misleading edit of a Trump speech.
Lawyers for the US president said that the BBC must retract the Panorama documentary by Friday or face a lawsuit for “no less” than $1bn (£760m), according to US media outlets who cited the letter. The BBC has confirmed it had received a letter and said it will respond in due course.
The BBC’s director-general Tim Davie has resigned amid a row over the doctoring of a Donald Trump speech for a Panorama episode.
The corporation’s CEO of News, Deborah Turness, has also resigned following criticism that the BBC documentary misled viewers.
In a statement, Mr Davie said: ‘There have been some mistakes made and as director general I have to take ultimate responsibility.’

On Monday, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Lindsey Halligan filed an extraordinary batch of documents in the public docket of her case against former FBI Director James Comey. The exhibits range from Comey’s communications with his handpicked FBI leaker, Daniel Richman, a Columbia law professor the bureau employed specifically to funnel Comey’s preferred narratives to the press, to text messages between Richman and New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt. But the most significant document by far is Comey’s own handwritten notes proving, beyond any doubt, that he knew early on the entire Russia collusion story was a Clinton campaign fabrication.
Donald Trump’s White House has accused the BBC of “purposeful dishonesty” amid a row over bias at the broadcaster.
It launched its attack over the way the corporation selectively edited a speech made by the president, dismissing it as “100 per cent fake news.”
British taxpayers were being “forced to foot the bill for a leftist propaganda machine”, Karoline Leavitt, Mr Trump’s press secretary said.

The Beeb’s wilful distortion of Trump’s comments on 6 January 2021 was a whole new low for modern journalism.
The BBC loves to pose as a warrior against ‘fake news’. Yet it now stands accused of pushing an entirely fake account of President Trump’s behaviour on 6 January 2021. That’s the day the Capitol building in Washington, DC was stormed by a rag-tag army of angry right-wingers convinced the election had been stolen from Trump. And last year the BBC showed footage of Trump telling the mob he would march with them to the Capitol and ‘fight like hell’. Only that never happened. The BBC made it up. It doctored the footage. This is beyond serious. These are Pravda levels of manipulation.
Despite having no entry in the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), which serves as the primary reference for mental health diagnoses in the United States, Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a very real and serious psychotic obsession afflicting many millions of Americans – i.e., Democrats and Never Trumpers. This condition renders sufferers incapable of rational thought and perspective, and is marked by humiliating public displays of inarticulate rage, an inability to be civil to Republican family members at Thanksgiving, and kneejerk accusations of racism, Nazism, and fascism against Trump, his administration, and his supporters. There is currently no known cure for this tragic derangement. All we can do for the afflicted is pity them.

If Donald Trump’s recent tangles with the media are anything to go by, the US president will already be plotting his retaliation on the BBC for “doctored” footage of his Jan 6 speech.
The US president has famously become more aggressive towards what he calls the “fake news media” during his second term. Members of the press who have crossed him have been stripped of White House access or sued for millions of dollars.
Now, a report by one of the BBC’s own standards advisers has found a Panorama programme “completely misled” viewers by splicing together different sections of the speech Mr Trump gave before his supporters stormed the Capitol.
The View’s Sunny Hostin passed Whoopi Goldberg a note that asked her to clarify a statement made about Donald Trump live on-air.
Goldberg, 69, responded by ripping the paper up.
The exchange happened during a discussion about Trump’s interview with 60 Minutes on Monday.

‘The BBC “doctored” a Donald Trump speech by making him appear to encourage the Capitol Hill riot, according to an internal whistleblowing memo seen by The Telegraph.
A Panorama programme, broadcast a week before the US election, “completely misled” viewers by showing the president telling supporters he was going to walk to the Capitol with them to “fight like hell”, when in fact he said he would walk with them “to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard”.
