In the UK, Two-Tier Justice Is Now Undeniable

If there was ever any doubt about the existence of a two-tier justice system in the UK, the case of Ricky Jones just eliminated it.

Last Friday, a jury at Snaresbrook Crown Court in London cleared Jones, a now suspended Labour councillor, of encouraging violent disorder at a protest last August. Jones attended a counter-demonstration in Walthamstow, London, in response to a planned right-wing protest—one of many last summer, sparked by the Southport murders. Surrounded by his fellow protestors, Jones made an impassioned speech, captured on video, denouncing the far Right: “They are disgusting Nazi fascists. We need to cut all their throats and get rid of them all.” At this point, Jones drew his finger across his own throat.

Woman ‘assaulted guard at asylum hotel after man entered her flat’

A woman has been charged with assaulting a security guard at a hotel housing asylum seekers after one of its residents allegedly walked into her east London flat.

A man in his early twenties has also been arrested on suspicion of assault, the Metropolitan Police said.

At the time of the alleged incident, the man was living at the four-star Britannia Hotel on the Isle of Dogs. He was no longer staying there, said police.

When a tweet rates worse than a rape – the strangulation of free speech

SINCE 2021, the Index on Censorship has ranked Britain as ‘partially open’ (the third tier). Britain ranks 20th for press freedom (worse than Trinidad and Tobago).

Just released: The US State Department concludes that in 2024, Britain’s human rights ‘worsened’ and the British government is partial in protecting rights and freedoms: ‘Significant human rights issues included credible reports of serious restrictions on freedom of expression, including enforcement of or threat of criminal or civil laws in order to limit expression; and crimes, violence, or threats of violence motivated by antisemitism. The government sometimes took credible steps to identify and punish officials who committed human rights abuses, but prosecution and punishment for such abuses was inconsistent.’

Police officers are fed up with their bosses’ woke diktats

Among the maelstrom of allegations about two-tier policing, and a justice system where ethnicity still seems to be very much a factor in what sort of justice you can expect to receive, there has been a flash of reassurance for those longing for a return to common sense and fairness.

This came last week, when two officers from West Midlands Police knocked on the door of a suspected ‘anti-migrant’ protester in Coventry. Speaking through the intercom, one policeman tells the resident that they have been sent to deliver a leaflet ahead of an upcoming protest in nearby Nuneaton, where a child was allegedly raped by an asylum seeker.

Conservatives say the justice system favours non-citizens – CBC Experts think that’s swell

The Conservatives want to change the Criminal Code to eliminate what they say is a double standard in the justice system that allows non-citizens to get lighter sentences than Canadians who have been convicted of the same crime.

“When it comes to sentencing non-citizens, Canada has essentially adopted a form of two-tier justice,” Conservative MP Michelle Rempel Garner said Wednesday in Ottawa.

“This offends all principles of fairness that should be foundational to our justice system.”

The Media and a Mob in Cincinnati

When a mob violently attacked two people in downtown Cincinnati last week, video of the beat-down spread across social media. But not a single major television network covered the story. It didn’t fit the mainstream media’s narrative about racial violence in America. The victims were white, and as of Wednesday police had arrested six black suspects for their alleged roles in the public pummeling.

Today’s media seems to conflagrate over violence only when the perpetrator is white and the victim is black. Then the cameras roll, protests erupt, and hashtags fly. But when the races are reversed, the mainstream media buries the incident or ignores it entirely. The same is true of black-on-black violence.

I was persecuted for being a Christian, says teacher sacked over Connolly comments

A teacher who was sacked after saying Lucy Connolly was a victim of “two-tier policing” says he has been persecuted for being a Christian.

Simon Pearson, 56, was accused of Islamophobia after saying in a private Facebook group that Connolly should not have been jailed, and believes he would still be in a job if he had been accused of offending Christians and not Muslims.

On Rotherham and the reality of two-tier policing

Child rape is ignored while a Christian preacher is arrested

Last week, three men were found guilty of raping young girls in Rotherham. The rapes took place 25 years ago, but the wheels of justice move very slowly for grooming gang offenders. The three men are Sageer Hussain (who is already in prison for other rape offences), Kesur Ajaib and Mohammaed Makhmood.

The first girl was 14 years old when she was raped in 1999 by Ajab and Makhmood. Ajaib made conversation with her and plied her with alcohol before luring her into an alleyway where he raped her. Makhmood raped her on another occasion after leading her to a nearby graveyard.
