UFO sightings to be studied by former astronaut, handpicked NASA group

The United States’ space agency announced it has selected 16 individuals to participate in the much-awaited study of unidentified aerial phenomena, or what are more commonly referred to as UFOs.

The team will kick off the study Monday and is scheduled to spend nine months reviewing previous observations and determining how to analyze data on future events.

The study will not determine if past reports of UFOs were legitimate but will pave the way for understanding what observations will be needed in future events to better understand the phenomena.

How the Canadian government plans to handle questions about UFOs

The Canadian government has a plan if questions about unidentified flying objects are raised in Parliament.

Transport Minister Omar Alghabra would lead the response to UFO-related questions in the House of Commons, according to documents obtained by CTVNews.ca. Acquired through an access to information request, the documents also include UFO talking points prepared for the minister’s office and emails about a May 11 UFO briefing attended by his staff.

The Search for Intelligent Life Is About to Get a Lot More Interesting

There are an estimated 100 billion galaxies in the universe, home to an unimaginable abundance of planets. And now there are new ways to spot signs of life on them.

When the space shuttle Atlantis lifted off from the Kennedy Space Center on Oct. 18, 1989, it carried the Galileo in its cargo bay. Arrayed with scientific instruments, Galileo’s ultimate destination was Jupiter, where it would spend years in orbit collecting data and taking pictures. After it left the shuttle, though, Galileo headed in the other direction, turning toward the sun and circling around Venus, in order to slingshot around the planet and pick up speed for its journey to the outer solar system. Along the way, it flew around Earth too — twice, in fact, at altitudes of 597 and 188 miles. This gave its engineering team an opportunity to test the craft’s sensors. The astronomer Carl Sagan, a member of Galileo’s science team, called the maneuver the first flyby in our planet’s history. It also allowed him to contemplate what a spacecraft might find when looking at a far-off planet for signs of intelligent life.

Navy admits it has more UFO videos but says releasing the footage publicly would ‘HARM national security’

The U.S. Navy won’t release additional footage of unidentified flying objects because doing so would ‘harm national security.’

A spokesperson for the military branch made the statement in response to a Freedom of Information Act request filed by the government transparency site The Black Vault – which has previously shared thousands of pages of UFO-related documents received from the CIA and other agencies.

Navy: We’re not releasing any more of our UFO videos. Not sorry

It’s been almost two and a half years since the United States Navy officially confirmed and released three videos showing unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP, or UFOs as some of us still call them) performing confounding maneuvers in the vicinity of some of our warships. That was only one step in an ongoing process that we’ve known of since December of 2017 wherein the American government has slowly but surely expanded the conversation on this subject and the Pentagon has stepped up its investigation of the phenomenon, largely under the directions of the United States Congress. The most recent development was the announcement of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO).

The Paradox Of Fermi’s Paradox

Is it possible some UAP are extraterrestrial craft? Is it reasonable to think there is intelligent alien life visiting earth?

Scientists still debate whether the universe is infinite, but at a minimum, our visible universe contains trillions of galaxies, each with hundreds of billions of planets and moons. As best we can tell, the same laws of physics apply everywhere, and the heavy organic molecules that form the basic building blocks of life are abundant. In short, from the nearest solar systems to the most distant edges of space and time, we are surrounded by endless opportunities for life. Amidst these endless opportunities, intelligent extraterrestrial life is a near mathematical certainty. But what about the prospects for intelligent life to evolve in Earth’s galactic neighborhood? Although estimates vary considerably, many indicate we are probably not alone in the Milky Way.

Long read but worth your time I believe. The author is Christopher Mellon.

I can’t say that UFO’s exist but a growing body of evidence indicates that it may be so. Personally I am leaning toward toward a belief in their existence.

The paradox of life in our universe

It’s one of the great questions that humans have been pondering for virtually all of recorded history and likely even before we came up with the concept of a written language. Are we alone in the universe, or are there other civilizations out there, possibly even species that are vastly technologically more advanced than us? And if that’s possible, have any of them been able to cross the daunting interstellar darkness and visit us? These are all questions that are tackled this week by former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Christopher Mellon in an article titled “The Paradox of Fermi’s Paradox.”

Back in the 1950s, Enrico Fermi posed a series of questions regarding life in our universe. People have long speculated that there must be countless other civilizations out there, given the staggering number of stars in all of the galaxies we can see. But, Fermi essentially asked, if life is so abundant, “where is everybody?”

UFO and UAP ‘Need to Know’ News Documentary with Coulthart & Zabel

The world is watching as the US Congress looks into the UAP phenomenon. Here, veteran investigative journalists Ross Coulthart and Bryce Zabel break down the news, and speak with credible experts and insiders.

“Black” programs being hidden within private companies to avoid FOIA requests? I’m shocked!

I want to believe! Worth watching. Debuted last night.

Congress implies that UFOs are “non-human” in origin

Irish UFO?

While it’s easy to lose track of this subject when the members of Congress (and the media) have so much else on their plates these days, the House and the Senate have continued to work on new legislative language regarding the Pentagon’s investigation into the strange objects being seen in the skies over our restricted military airspace. But it’s no longer just the skies.

Of late I have become interested in the Military’s history of UFO encounters starting with the astonishing number of occurrences in 1947 much of it forgotten by the public.

I maintain we are being acclimatized drip by drip.

NASA Will Now Go ‘Full Force’ Investigating UFOs, Agency Says

NASA reaffirmed a full-throated commitment to studying unidentified flying objects (UFOs) during a town hall meeting held by the agency’s Science Mission Directorate (SMD) on Wednesday.

The meeting followed up on the recent announcement of a NASA-funded study to examine observations in the sky that cannot be explained by any known human or natural phenomena. These sightings, also known as unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs), have generated immense public interest, and they also raise air safety and national security concerns, prompting NASA to delve deeper into the topic.

Revealed after 32 years, the top secret picture one MOD insider calls ‘the most spectacular UFO photo ever captured’

So why do officials want to keep the identities of the men who took it secret for another 50 years?

On August 4, 1990, two young men were working as chefs in a hotel in Pitlochry, a beautiful Highland Perthshire town, just outside the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland.

At 9pm, after a long day in a hot kitchen, they drove about 13 miles north along the A9 to Calvine, a spot on the edge of the Cairngorms, for a walk in the hills.

They hadn’t gone far when they saw a huge, solid, diamond-shaped object, about 100ft long, hovering silently in the sky above them. Terrified, they hid in some bushes and looked up.

Minutes later, they heard the scream of a jet aircraft going north: In 1990, RAF Leuchars in Fife had two squadrons of Tornado fighters on 24-hour standby to intercept Russian intruder aircraft.

One congressman’s hot take on the Pentagon’s UFO investigation

Since we last checked in on the Congressional hearings involving the Pentagon’s UFO investigation office, there have been several additional developments. (Yes, I know. We’re supposed to say UAP now for Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, but I refuse to comply.) The public congressional hearing held by the House Intelligence Committee in May was encouraging in terms of being more open with the public, but somewhat disappointing in the lack of substance.
