Britain must do much more to tackle ‘anti-blasphemy’ Islamist zealots

Muslims threaten school in UK

Is blasphemy a national security threat to the UK?

The Henry Jackson Society (HJS) think so. Their soon to be published report, trailed by the Telegraph yesterday, found that Muslim anti-blasphemy preachers imported from Pakistan and Bangladesh had accelerated and toxified the response to perceived insults against Islam. Pakistan’s existing blasphemy laws, made even harsher this year, make insulting the Prophet Muhammed or any of his family in effect a capital crime, often without the necessity of a trial because those accused are abducted and murdered by lynch mobs before the justice system gets anywhere near them.

Protests outside schools and cinemas by hardline Muslims ‘pose national security threat’

Anti-blasphemy protests outside schools and cinemas by conservative Muslims are becoming a threat to national security, a new report has warned.

The review by the Henry Jackson Society think tank has warned that the failure to protect teachers and others from intimidation is amounting to a tacit anti-blasphemy law.

The 69-page report, Britain’s New Blasphemy Police?, examined a series of incidents in recent years including the case of a teacher at Batley Grammar School in West Yorkshire who showed pupils a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed during an RE lesson.

Islamic State and Al-Qaeda plotting terror attacks in UK, government report to warn

Islamic State and Al-Qaeda are both plotting terror attacks in the UK, the Government is set to warn on Monday.

In an update to Contest, the UK’s counter-terrorism strategy, the Home Secretary will describe the threat of Islamist terrorism as the “most severe” in the UK, accounting for three quarters of Mi5’s time, according to The Times.

Suella Braverman will reportedly warn that while “Islamist terrorism remains the predominant threat, terrorism is becoming increasingly unpredictable, making cases harder to detect and investigate”.

Is Joe Biden really a close friend of Britain?

According to Joe Biden on the steps of Downing Street, by travelling to the UK he ‘couldn’t be meeting with a closer friend and greater ally. Our relationship is rock solid’. Really? In that case, will Biden be using his time in London to start talks for a US-UK trade deal? Will he be changing his mind and back Ben Wallace, rather than Ursula von der Leyen – who was an embarrassing failure as German defence minister – as the next secretary-general of Nato? Will he be taking notice of Britain’s objections to sending cluster bombs to Ukraine?

Canada calls on Israel to reverse thousands of West Bank settlement approvals

The Canadian government has joined a chorus of allies condemning Israel’s approval of more than 5,700 settlement units in the occupied West Bank, a move that comes amid surging violence in the region.

In a joint statement with her Australian and U.K. counterparts Friday, Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly says she is gravely concerned by the move.

“The continued expansion of settlements is an obstacle to peace and negatively impacts efforts to achieve a negotiated two-state solution,” says the statement.

Reading terror inquest: Mohammedan Killer’s deportation dropped before murders

Khairi Saadallah Muslim Terrorist

Efforts to deport a Libyan refugee were dropped shortly before he murdered three men in a terrorist attack in a park, a coroner has heard.

Khairi Saadallah’s deportation was initially stalled because he faced charges, including eating a police station mattress, the hearing was told.

The process was then dropped because of the war in Libya, the court heard.

In June 2020, Saadallah stabbed James Furlong, Joe Ritchie-Bennett and David Wails in Forbury Gardens, Reading.

Debunking the grooming gang debunkers

The focus on this issue is right and proper

“‘Inaccurate’ grooming gang claims putting children at risk” read the Guardian headline, as it reported a new open letter. Hosted by the University of Bedfordshire and signed (so far) by 60 organisations or researchers, it warned the Prime Minister and Home Secretary against making “partial, inaccurate or divisive claims about child sexual abuse”.

What the letter is really worried about is the government’s focus on “group based child sexual exploitation in the community” — commonly known as “grooming gangs”. In the aftermath of the GB News film “Grooming Gangs: Britain’s Shame, Home Secretary Suella Braverman announced new measures, including a new Grooming Gangs Taskforce, which was one of the policies the documentary called for.

Malaysia detains Chinese ship suspected of looting British WW2 wrecks

Malaysia has detained a Chinese-registered vessel suspected of looting two British World War Two shipwrecks.

The bulk carrier was seized on Sunday for anchoring illegally at the site in the South China Sea.

Ammunition believed to be from the HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Repulse, which were sunk by Japanese forces more than 80 years ago, was then found on board.

The UK Ministry of Defence had earlier condemned the alleged raid as a “desecration” of maritime war graves.

Fifty migrants on boat in the middle of English Channel refuse to be rescued by French warship…so UK Border Force picks them up and brings them to Dover

Fifty migrants packed into a floundering rubber dinghy in the Channel were picked up by a Border Force vessel today after refusing to be rescued by a French Navy warship.

In a two-hour operation, Border Force vessel Ranger raced from the Kent coast to the centre of the Channel to bring the ‘agitated’ migrants into Dover.

Videos and maritime radio messages between Ranger and the warship Formentin, obtained by the Mail, reveal a high level of collaboration between the French and British over organising the flimsy dinghy’s journey safely to the UK.

Have we forgotten about Lee Rigby?

Ten years ago today, Lee Rigby was murdered on the streets of south-east London. The 25-year-old soldier was heading back to his barracks in Woolwich when a car came out of nowhere and knocked him down. It was no accident. Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale, two British-born Islamist extremists, jumped out of the car, armed with knives and a meat cleaver.

White British children ‘could be minority in schools within 40 years’

White British children could be in a minority in schools in 40 years, an Oxford academic has claimed.

Dr Paul Morland, a demographer and academic visitor at St Anthony’s College, said previous research had suggested that around 50 per cent to 60 per cent of the overall British population would define themselves as white British by the year 2060.

Britain is becoming an outlier on immigration

Other European countries are taking a far more hardline stance

Like much British political discourse, the ongoing small boats crisis in the Channel is utterly divorced from developments in the rest of Europe. Opponents of the Government’s scheme to deport irregular arrivals, as the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby demonstrated yesterday, cite Britain’s humanitarian obligations under the European Court of Human Rights as an immovable obstacle. Yet in the EU itself, national governments facing similar migration flows remove unwanted migrants through the simple expedient of ignoring their legal obligations, to their voters’ approval.

The worrying rise of Sharia marriages

Women in unregistered, religious-only marriages have no legal rights or protections.

In Britain today, there are believed to be thousands of women in religious-only marriages who are not recognised as legally married. This means they have no marital rights under the law and have no option of obtaining a civil divorce.

In these mainly Sharia-compliant marriages, the husband has all the power. Indeed, he can divorce his wife simply by saying ‘talaq’ (‘divorce’) to her three times. And just like that, she is left with nothing – she has no legal recourse and no protections. Often, this is the first moment the wife in such unions becomes aware she has no legally recognised marital status. All of this is because, as a 2015 Law Commission report explains, these religious-only marriages (regardless of faith) are considered a ‘non-marriage’ under the law.

Mass immigration plus Islam is toxic for society.
