Batley Grammar has caved to the mob

Cartoons of Muhammad have now been banned from the school’s teaching materials.

A teacher at Batley grammar school in Yorkshire was suspended from work in March. He was forced into hiding, fearing for his life after receiving death threats. All he did was show pupils a cartoon of Muhammad, as part of a lesson about free speech and blasphemy.

A mob of religious conservatives gathered outside his school to protest against the cartoon. The school obliged them and duly punished the teacher. The head apologised for the teacher’s actions and sent pupils home early for the Easter break.

Top imam who helps police to spot extremists labelled Israel a ‘terrorist state’

Priti Patel has ordered an inquiry into a prominent Muslim cleric paid by the Government to combat extremism after he told an angry crowd that Israel is a ‘terrorist state’.

The Home Secretary was responding to a Mail investigation into Imam Irfan Chishti MBE, who has played a leading role in the country’s Prevent programme designed to combat radicalisation since 2013.

His company, Me and You Education, gives training to the police, the NHS and in schools on how to spot extremists and neutralise radicalisation. On its website, Mr Chishti says that his goal is to heal divisions between communities.

Net closes in on Chinese ‘spies’ in UK universities where academics are suspected of passing pioneering British technology to Beijing

A high-level probe into Chinese ‘spies’ working in British universities could lead to arrests within weeks, The Mail on Sunday has been told.

Specialists at the Foreign Office, Special Branch and HMRC have drawn up a list of academics suspected of passing sensitive information to Beijing, including pioneering British technology that could be used to aid the repression of minorities and dissidents.

Investigators are understood to have ‘established a correlation’ between universities which earn significant income from students from China and the activities of staff which have prompted suspicion.

Islamic cleric who showed support for Israel is forced to flee his home after masked militants smashed way into home

Masked Militants? Damn those Presbyterians!

A prominent Islamic cleric who voiced support for Israel has been forced out of his home after a terrifying late-night attack by masked militants.

Nahiem Ajmal, a leading moderate with a huge following on YouTube, was asleep at home in Birmingham with his wife and two young daughters when thugs smashed windows and his front door before storming inside.

They were angered by comments made by the 41-year-old cleric – known to his followers as Mufti Abu Layth – last August in an hour-long lecture where he argued for Palestine to be handed over to Israel to settle the bitter conflict.

Self described “quality Muslim community media platform” calls for Jihad against Israel

Birmingham cleric calls for Islamic holy war on Israel

Radical Birmingham cleric Shaykh Asrar Rashid, who once labelled the Queen a “disgusting woman”, has called on Muslim states to wage holy war and launch air strikes to drive “cowardly” Jews out of Israel.

In a chilling video on Islamic news site 5Pillars, the Birmingham cleric said the “only solution” to the Israel conflict was “jihad” by Muslim-majority countries.

He called for air strikes on Tel Aviv, which, he boasted, would have Israelis with European passports “running back to Europe” as he mocked “the Jews … as a cowardly nation”.

Why is the education sector siding with Islamists?

Even defending the right to show a cartoon of Muhammad is now a disciplinary matter.

When a teacher at Batley Grammar School showed pupils a cartoon of Muhammad back in March, it prompted angry protests and death threats. The school was shut down for days, and the teacher was forced into hiding, fearing for his and his family’s lives.

Even worse, the teacher received precious little solidarity from the wider teaching profession or the teaching unions. And now trainee teachers could be cast out of the profession merely for defending his right to show the cartoon.

Teacher in blasphemy row after ‘showing Prophet Muhammad cartoons to class’ is STILL living in fear with his family six weeks on

A teacher who sparked fury by showing cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed to pupils during a lesson about blasphemy is living in a ‘safe house’ with his wife and children because of fears they will be attacked.

More than six weeks after fleeing his home following angry demonstrations outside Batley Grammar School in West Yorkshire, the teacher and his family are still being given police protection. The threat to their safety is judged so severe that even their relatives have not been told where they are living.

I fled the hell of Afghanistan… only to find the enemy in Britain

I fled the hell of Afghanistan… only to find the enemy in Britain: A brave interpreter who risked death on SAS missions reveals how he discovered Islamist extremists in the UK spouting the very hatred he thought he’d left behind

At a meeting in a run-down cafe in London, Michael, now calling himself Mohammed, is in full flow.

An Irishman with a shining moon-face fringed by an orange beard, he exudes all the joy and intensity of the religious convert as he romanticises an ideology he barely comprehends.

Discovering that I am not only an Afghan but one just arrived from Afghanistan, he is delighted at the chance to commune with, as he sees it, another of the world’s most oppressed peoples.

He warms to his theme, exhorting me to return home to fight for the Taliban and liberate my country from the infidel. I’m used to this. I recently had a blazing row with some of my own extended family who whined on about how things were better under the Taliban, and how a woman’s honour was safer.

UK government has ‘washed its hands’ of teacher who has gotten death threats for showing Muhammad cartoons

“Of course it has. The government in shattered, staggering, dhimmi Britain is paralyzed with fear of its growing and restive Muslim communities, and is increasingly ready to throw Britain’s cherished principles away and embrace Sharia blasphemy laws in exchange for spurious promises of peace and security.”

Who reads the Daily Mail? The UK’s most popular and most hated paper perfectly understands Middle England

You can tell a lot about someone from the paper they read. Each title represents different social tribes and cultural folkways in British life.

The Times was once the old establishment paper that effortlessly evolved into the voice of economic and social liberalism. The Telegraph, started by an army colonel as part of a grudge against a member of the royal family, has long been the paper of the squirearchy, Tory but bohemian and eccentric at the edges; the Guardian, founded by Unitarian Manchester businessmen, represented the non-conformist tradition that evolved into Left-liberalism, always activated by a keen sense of social justice.

“Asian” grooming gangs trafficked underage girls into Birmingham for ‘decades’ despite being reported to police, survivor claims

Asian grooming gangs trafficked underage girls into Birmingham and abused them for decades despite being reported to police, according to one survivor.

Sarah, whose name has been changed to protect her identity, says she reported the names of her various abusers to Derbyshire Police in 2012.

But she says none of the offenders have ever been brought to justice in the same way similar gangs were in Telford and Rotherham.

A gang of six men was jailed in 2018 for a total of 101 years after sexually exploiting five vulnerable teenage girls in Rotherham between 1998 and 2005. The gang members – all Asian men from Sheffield and Rotherham – were convicted of offences including rape and indecent assault.

This week police in Uxbridge, Greater London, handcuffed, arrested and detained a 71-year-old grandfather for fear he might have offended someone.

Naturally, the whole incident was filmed and uploaded to YouTube, where we can watch in horror at our hard-fought freedoms slipping through our fingers.
