Lots of mushrooms and, and I really can’t stress this enough, wide egg noodles. Also works well with chicken. Personally I’d brown the beef/chicken with some flour coating on a higher heat, but. Cognac, sure, but white wine works well or, of course, vodka. I mean, what was Mr Stroganoff, Hawaiian?
