Taxpayer money spent on LIZARDS: Rand Paul publishes ‘Festivus Report’ revealing ‘government waste’

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) has released his annual list of government pork spending, causing outrage as people realize their taxes have paid for ridiculous things like lizards running on treadmills.

“Tis’ the season for the 2020 Festivus Report…..totaling over $54 billion in government waste,” Paul tweeted on Tuesday before jumping into his report.

Police takedown of woman in Star Wars stormtrooper costume won’t result in criminal charges

Turns out the cops thought it was a competing union muscling in on their racket.

An outside force says no criminal charges are warranted in relation to the handcuffing of a woman in a stormtrooper costume outside a Star Wars-themed business in Lethbridge, Alta., last May.

But Lethbridge police are still facing criticism for how the initial incident was handled — and some are calling for the full results of the outside investigation to be released.

Flash Gordon villain Ming the Merciless is an ‘ offensive, discriminatory stereotype’ for being played by a white actor says Brit film censor

Viewers have been warned about an ‘outright offensive’ character in the iconic movie Flash Gordon.

The British Board of Film Classification has added a warning about Ming the Merciless, advising the audience that the character played by the late Swedish actor Max von Sydow is a ‘discriminatory stereotype’.

The 1980 movie was reclassified as a 12A earlier this year, and the BBFC said Ming is ‘coded as an east Asian character’ and would now be considered, ‘dubious if not outright offensive’.

Comedy rock group The K**ts have rocketed up the UK singles charts and are now facing off against the likes of Mariah Carey and Ladbaby for the coveted Christmas No.1 spot with their song, ‘Boris Johnson is a F***ing C***.’

The 82-second-long track contains the timeless and catchy lyrics, “Boris Johnson is a f***ing c***/ He’s a f***ing c***,” on repeat and has already peaked at number 2 on the UK iTunes chart (now sitting in fourth place) while also reaching second place on the Amazon Music charts (currently in third).

CEOs raked in hefty dividends as their companies accepted Covid wage subsidy, Financial Post analysis finds

The chief executive officers of 68 Canadian companies that paid out dividends while receiving the pandemic wage subsidy earned an estimated $30 million in dividends themselves during the quarters in which their firms accepted the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS), according to an analysis of share ownership stakes by the Financial Post.

Earlier this month, a Post investigation revealed that at least 68 companies that received more than $1 billion in CEWS — a subsidy designed to help companies that have seen their revenue drop significantly cover payroll costs and keep employees in their jobs — paid out more than $5 billion in dividends over the past two quarters.

Tearing down statues has become a new frontier in the West’s culture wars. But one Russian town’s decision to cart off a “terrifying” new metal monument is unlikely to cause much controversy.

Authorities in Novovoronezh were filmed using a crane to pull up the figure and load it into a truck on Monday. Named ‘Alenka’, it had been unveiled only the day before, in honor of the 250th anniversary of the village first founded on the site.
