Kathy Griffin looks unrecognizable as she steps out in LA after anti-Trump TikTok drama

Kathy Griffin looked nearly unrecognizable as she stepped out in Los Angeles this week amid backlash over her recent anti-Trump TikTok post.

The comedian, 64, was spotted enjoying a walk with a male friend near her $8.8million Malibu home on Tuesday, July 1.

Griffin was noticeably makeup-free and her flaming red hair looked wild as it blew around in the breeze.

The sweet silence of Pierre Poilievre. Enjoy it while you can … says disturbed man

Could be twins, at least on spiritual plain says Star

To more than a few Canadians, he was as irritating as a neighbour’s leaf-blower, or a yapping dog next door, or a crying baby across the aisle in a plane, or a pneumatic drill on local sidewalks.

His voice hit the ear like an assault, a whining, scolding, hyperpartisan blast of relentless grievance.

As such, the sound of silence of late from Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is one of the summer’s blessings.

COOPER: Mask up for sex and other lessons from Canada’s pandemic honour roll

Around the middle of the last century Marx — Groucho, not Karl — declined to join the Friars Club in Hollywood. His classic line: I refuse to join a club that accepts people like me as members. Two recent appointments to the Order of Canada, Theresa Tam and Bonnie Henry, extend the appropriateness of Marx’s remark to the Order of Canada.

Let us start at the top, with the motto of the Order: Desiderantes Meliorem Patriam, ‘They desire a better fatherland (or country.)’

It originally appeared in St. Paul’s epistle to the Hebrews, Ch. 11:16.

These are just handed out to friends and family it seems. Crackerjack box distribution would be more fair.

CHARLEBOIS: The gene-edited bacon you never asked for

In April, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the commercial distribution of pigs genetically edited with CRISPR technology to resist porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS), a costly and widespread disease in pork production. These pigs are expected to enter the American market in 2026. Yet Canadian consumers could start seeing gene-edited pork products in stores — unlabelled and unannounced — as early as next year.

‘No means no’ is Eurocentric, South African lawyers say in sex harassment case

Lawyers for a South African high court judge accused of sexual harassment have dismissed a gender expert’s testimony that “no means no” as “Eurocentric”.

They also accused the expert of an “imposition of whiteness” in her assessment of the case brought against Selby Mbenenge, judge president of the Eastern Cape, by a secretary in his court, Andiswa Mengo.

US to breed billions of flies and dump them out of aircraft in bid to fight flesh-eating maggot

The US government is preparing to breed billions of flies and dump them out of airplanes over Mexico and southern Texas to fight a flesh-eating maggot.

That sounds like the plot of a horror movie, but it is part of the government’s plans for protecting the US from a bug that could devastate its beef industry, decimate wildlife and even kill household pets. This weird science has worked well before.

“It’s an exceptionally good technology,” said Edwin Burgess, an assistant professor at the University of Florida who studies parasites in animals, particularly livestock. “It’s an all-time great in terms of translating science to solve some kind of large problem.”
