Morning Joe: Pete Hegseth’s a ‘Retrograde Throwback’ to ‘The Crusades’

Presumably, even Morning Joe’s fierce feminist warriors wouldn’t have ordered female soldiers to storm the beaches and scale the cliffs of Normandy on D-Day.

But that didn’t stop today’s panel from hammering Pete Hegseth for his views on women in the military. Retired Admiral James Stavridis, Joe Scarborough, and “MSNBC Republican” Elise Jordan misrepresented Hegseth’s position. They suggested that he opposes allowing women in the military, full stop. That’s entirely false.

Canadian authorities are preparing for a wave of unauthorized border crossings by migrants fleeing tough immigration measures from the Trump government, and early reports from Quebec media are suggesting that attempted crossings from upstate New York are already on the rise. The New Frontier for Drone Warfare Is Deep Underwater

Drones have revolutionized modern warfare in the sky. Now defense companies and navies are betting they can do the same underwater.

The new underwater drones, with names such as Ghost Shark, Herne and Manta Ray, can typically dive thousands of feet below the surface and operate largely without human interaction for days on end. That ability makes them ideally suited to gather intelligence, protect undersea infrastructure and counter potential threats in the Pacific, advocates say.

Guinness crisis comes to a head as pubs run dry

Britain’s pubs have not had an easy few years. First there was the pandemic, then staff shortages, followed by the cost of living crisis.

Now, though, there is a new problem — they are running out of Guinness.

With Christmas days away, many pubs are completely out of the black stuff — even after rationing supplies. Others say they will run out this week.
