CHARLEBOIS: The rise of the pyjamas economy and what that means

If you spend enough time in a grocery store these days, you will notice something that would have been unusual not long ago: Shoppers pushing carts in pyjama pants.

What once felt like a social faux pas is quietly becoming normal. Pyjama bottoms, flannel lounge pants and slippers have become part of what could be called the new “errand uniform.” And while it may seem trivial, consumer behaviour — even clothing choices — often reveals deeper economic shifts.

Bob Gale resigns as chair of Niagara Region amid allegations over copy of Hitler’s book

Bob Gale has resigned as chair of the Regional Municipality of Niagara amid calls for an apology from local anti-racism groups that claim he owns a copy of Adolf Hitler’s book.

Gale submitted on Wednesday a letter to Rob Flock, the Ontario minister of municipal affairs and housing, stating that his resignation was effective immediately.

“Today, a member of the communist party circulated a dated document that listed my name as the owner of a historical book found in many libraries,” Gale wrote in his letter to Flack.

Earlier Wednesday, the Niagara Region Anti-Racism Association and the Justice 4 Black Lives Niagara issued a joint release alleging that Gale purchased and owned a copy of “Mein Kampf,” Hitler’s political manifesto, signed by the Nazi leader.

It’s an historic document. The latter day Nazi Karens would burn all of us at the stake on the flimsiest of pretexts.

Germany: After girl gang raped, Berlin youth center accused of cover-up because they did not want suspects to be labeled as ‘typical Muslims’

A Turkish-Kurdish schoolgirl is said to have been groped by nine boys of Arab descent in the back room of a Berlin youth center in Gropiusstadt, Neukölln. It then came out that she was raped in November, in the youth center garden. A scandal has erupted after it was reported that the youth center staff did not file a police report, reportedly out of fear that the suspects would be labeled as the “typical Muslims.”

Larry Maher: Canadian Jews are angry. It’s a start

We have been painted as ‘white oppressors’ with our own history of persecution erased

” …The need to constantly define and negotiate with others about racism, religious hatred, and cultural intolerance demonstrates how lost society has become. The Jewish community believed that if we spoke in the language of progressives and their ideology of DEI, we would be accepted as a minority that deserves a spot at the table. Instead, we have been painted as “white oppressors” with our own history of persecution erased.”

He doesn’t condemn the racist foundation of DEI and call for it to be dismantled. Instead he expresses disappointment that Jews were painted as White oppressors under DEI despite efforts to be accepted as official members of the racist club that claims the right to perpetually condemn White people as evil just for the colour of their skin.

Doesn’t that imply he’s fine with DEI’s ongoing hatred of White people and would be doubly so had only his team won a seat at the table?

That’s some blind spot … at the table.

One in five Canadians over 50 facing material deprivation, survey finds

A new survey suggests a significant share of older Canadians are struggling to meet basic needs, with one in five people aged 50 and older experiencing a standard of living comparable to the poverty line.

The findings are from the National Institute on Ageing (NIA) and its 2025 Ageing in Canada survey, which examines the financial and social wellbeing of more than 6,000 Canadians aged 50 and older.

The report found 20 per cent of respondents were experiencing “material deprivation,” meaning they struggle to afford essential goods and services.

Stabby Ridership An Issue On London Buses

Call for bleed kit rollout on TfL bus network

Calls for bleed kits to be installed in every major bus station and on bus routes in areas affected by serious violence have been backed by the London Assembly.

Assembly Members unanimously passed a motion requesting that Transport for London (TfL) to work with the London Ambulance Service (LAS) to ensure the kits will be made available across the network.

Bleed control kits help stem severe bleeding from deep wounds before emergency services arrive – a “potentially valuable method of saving lives”.
