Elon Musk cannot keep Tesla pay package worth more than $55 billion, judge rules

DOVER, Del. (AP) — Elon Musk is not entitled to landmark compensation package awarded by Tesla’s board of directors that is potentially worth more than $55 billion, a Delaware judge ruled Tuesday.

The ruling by Chancellor Kathaleen St. Jude McCormick comes more than five years after a shareholder lawsuit targeted Tesla CEO Musk and directors of the company. They were accused of breaching their duties to the maker of electric vehicles and solar panels, resulting in a waste of corporate assets and unjust enrichment for Musk.

A New York Post op-ed cited anonymous sources to claim that former president Barack Obama has polled donors and is plotting behind the scenes to have his wife replace Joe Biden on the ballot. The incumbent president will supposedly announce that he’s dropping out of the race just before the Democratic National Convention in August, where Michelle Obama will be nominated to run in his place.

An airline’s flight attendants are ‘vanishing’ after landing at Pearson Airport in Mississauga, Ontario

In what officials with Pakistan’s national airline say is an ongoing issue, another of its flight attendants has seemingly “vanished” after landing on a flight at Pearson Airport in Mississauga.

A spokesperson for Pakistan International Airlines told media last week that the latest disappearance of a cabin crew member at Pearson occurred on Jan. 19.

Authorities investigating massive security breach at Global Affairs Canada

Canadian authorities are investigating a prolonged data security breach following the “detection of malicious cyber activity” affecting the internal network used by Global Affairs Canada staff, according to internal department emails viewed by CBC News.

The breach affects at least two internal drives, as well as emails, calendars and contacts of many staff members.

CBC News spoke to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation, including employees who have received instructions on how the breach affects their ability to work. Some were told to stop working remotely as of last Wednesday.

The billionaire said the person had the chip surgically implanted into their brain on Sunday and “is recovering well”

“Initial results show promising neuron spike detection,” Musk wrote on X, the social media he owns.

A poster of Jesus to promote Easter week in Seville has drawn a backlash from Spanish ultra-conservatives, who denounced it as “effeminate” and “offensive” to Roman Catholics.

Designed by Seville artist Salustiano Garcia, the image shows Jesus after his resurrection, standing semi-naked in front of a blood-red background, with the lower part of his body covered by a white cloth.

Woman ordered deported over Chinese foreign interference

Canadian authorities have issued a deportation order against a Chinese woman on the grounds she was part of Beijing’s foreign interference program.

The Immigration and Refugee Board ruled that Jing Zhang had worked for the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office (OCAO), which it said conducts espionage in Canada.

While immigration officials did not argue that Zhang committed espionage, the Refugee Board found that as an 11-year OCAO employee, she had contributed to its efforts to pressure the Chinese diaspora.

Justin Trudeau adviser defends use of crude language in online exchange with right-wing group

OTTAWA—A senior adviser to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is defending her use of crude, sexual language in an online exchange with the right-wing influence group, Canada Proud, stating she was subject to a “co-ordinated harassment campaign” and that Canada Proud trafficks in “vile” disinformation.

The exchange occurred in a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, over the weekend, in which the PMO’s newly-hired adviser Supriya Dwivedi derided Canada Proud for having a “raging boner” for a female journalist who covers the far right. Responding to how the Canada Proud account implied she was acting unprofessionally and wrote she was having a “public meltdown,” Dwivedi responded: “you can go back to gooning to Jordan Peterson now.”

Squad member Ilhan Omar slammed for ‘disgraceful’ speech

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) is being accused of ‘treason’ and calls to be removed from Congress she faces fierce opposition for a speech where she unapologetically declared she is ‘Somalia first.’

Somaliland Ambassador Rhoda Elmi reposted video of Omar’s speech on X and called it ‘regrettably unbecoming’ and ‘lacking in common decency.’

The leaked video of Omar’s speech on January 27 quickly went viral and garnered widespread criticism, including from far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) who accused her colleague of using her position to protect people who ‘hate America’ and also said she’s clearly admitting to putting another country ahead of American interests.
