Muhammad Ashan Naseer who allegedly shot five in ‘random’ Toronto drive-by shouldn’t have got bail, judge rules

A Toronto man facing multiple counts of attempted murder for an alleged drive-by shooting in Scarborough is back in jail after a judge found that a justice of the peace was wrong to release him on bail pending his trial.

Superior Court Justice Llana Nakonechny ruled Friday that public confidence in the justice system “would be undermined” if Muhammad Ashan Naseer was allowed to remain out on bail. She also found that his release plan was weak.

New rules to protect women from trans predators in prison ‘are even worse than before’

New Scottish transgender prison rules are “sexist” and will lead to vulnerable women being traumatised, MSPs have been warned.

Campaigners are calling on Holyrood politicians to block new guidelines, introduced in the wake of the Isla Bryson scandal, from coming into force, amid claims they are worse than the policy they replaced.

The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) plans to allow even trans criminals with a history of violence against women to be housed in female jails if it is deemed there is “compelling” evidence that they do not pose “an unacceptable risk of harm”.

Is Bill Gates the Most Dangerous Man in the World?

Even after giving away billions of dollars, Gates seems to have become no less poor. How does he do it?

Ironically, I am typing this review using the product of Microsoft, for which Gates is probably most famous. Even someone using a computer manufactured by his great rival Steve Jobs will most likely be using a Microsoft package for their word processing and presentations. But ask someone about Bill Gates now, and they will also associate him with global vaccination programmes via the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and, more specifically, the COVID vaccination programme. There is so much more to Bill Gates, though, and some of it is pure evil.

In his new book, Gates of Hell, Daniel Jupp first points out how indescribably ugly Gates is. This may seem unkind and irrelevant, but Jupp reckons that his physical appearance largely accounts for his character. On the one hand, he is a ‘nerd’ and, on the other hand, he is intensely competitive, which, in later life, is expressed in being a bully.

East London borough accused of ‘criminal offences’ over Palestinian flags

An east London borough led by a controversial mayor has been accused of “multiple criminal offences” over its failure to take down Palestinian flags.

Lawyers have written to the Metropolitan Police over the “proliferation” of flags, as well as posters and stickers, with allegedly inflammatory messages in Tower Hamlets.

Lutfur Rahman, the borough’s mayor, had previously been barred from public office for five years for corruption, but having served his ban was voted back into the post in elections in May 2022.

‘Ancient remains’ unearthed at construction site in Toronto’s east end

Workers unearthed human remains Friday while installing a water service line in the east end, the City of Toronto says.

The remains were found at the construction site on Withrow Avenue. The city said crews subsequently contacted Toronto police, who launched an investigation led by an anthropologist.

“The anthropologist confirmed they are ancient remains. Construction is halted while the investigation is ongoing,” the city said in a statement.

Bill Gates’ Foundation Poured Millions Into Chinese Government Orgs In 2022

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation paid out or approved for future payment roughly $23 million in grants to Chinese government organizations during its 2022 reporting period, tax documents show.

The nonprofit listed grants to over 20 different Chinese entities, including Chinese government agencies, labeled as “foreign government” on its 2022 tax forms. The majority of the grants were for projects related to public health research and analysis, including several projects involving diseases and vaccine delivery.
