Smiling Russian cannibal serial killer Denis Gorin pardoned by Putin for fighting in Ukraine

A convicted Russian serial killer — and cannibal — has been pardoned in exchange for fighting in Ukraine, just days after it was revealed that President Vladimir Putin had freed a notorious Satanist murderer.

Denis Gorin, 44, from the town of Aniva in the Sakhalin region, was sentenced in 2018 to 22 years in a penal colony for savagely stabbing a man to death and eating his flesh.

In total, Gorin killed at least four people and partially ate two of them — but his body count could be as high as 13, according to his neighbor.

286K sign e-petition urging Trudeau to demand immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas

An online petition urging Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to demand an immediate ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas closed Thursday with a record-setting 286,719 signatures — the most of any parliamentary e-petition since they began in 2015.

Initiated by Montréal resident Maëva Gaudrault and sponsored by Quebec NDP MP Alexandre Boulerice, the petition also calls on the prime minister to ask Israel to lift its blockade of the Gaza Strip and to urge Israel to meet its commitments under the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law.

Sure thing. The world’s gonna stop turning because Junior demands it.

Miss Universe Collapses on Itself

The beauty pageant’s redefinition of feminine beauty has done it no favors.

“I wanted to create something that was run by women for women—not something for men to ogle over,” said Thai entrepreneur Anne Jakrajutatip, whose JKN Global Group acquired the Miss Universe pageant in 2022. Under Jakrajutatip’s leadership, Miss Universe is now run by an all-female executive staff and has only female hosts and in-person judges—all, that is, except for Jakrajutatip, a male who claims to be transgendered.

Canada’s Back! Former soldiers say they fear Iraqi trainees committed war crimes with allies’ weapons

Canada not only trained suspected Iraqi war criminals in 2018, it distributed western-made weapons and protective equipment to them — likely coming from U.S. stockpiles — says a former soldier who was among the first to blow the whistle on videos that implicate the trainees in atrocities.

The Canadian soldiers who were conducting the training in northern Iraq complained at the time to their superiors on the ground. They warned that their Iraqi students — many of them veterans of combat against Islamic State militants — had videos on their cellphones of torture and extra-judicial killings. Those warnings took three full years to make their way to senior military leaders in Ottawa.

Disabled people were secretly given Do Not Resuscitate orders, Scottish Covid-19 inquiry hears

Disabled Scots felt like their lives were ‘not worth saving’ during the pandemic after Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) orders were secretly imposed on many of them, an inquiry has heard.

As Covid began to spread, GP receptionists even called up those with disabilities to try to persuade them to sign up to the orders, which inform doctors that they do not want their lives saved in an emergency.

Glasgow Disability Alliance chief executive Tressa Burke also told the Scottish Covid-19 Inquiry how some of her members were left so isolated during lockdowns they feared their bodies would not be discovered if they died at home.

Femicide should be declared a national emergency in Canada: women’s organization says

Femicide, which describes women and girls being killed purely for the crime of their gender, is on the rise in Canada—and one advocacy group is calling for it to be declared a national emergency.

The symbol is stark: a pink body bag.

“For her,” the slogan reads.

This powerful imagery is the core of a campaign launched by a Toronto-based organization to get femicide to be recognized on a national level, a move which would allow for more meaningful resources to be applied to address the issue.
