The United States military hasn’t won a war since 1945, and it certainly isn’t going to start winning any now. Its mission is something else altogether.

A PREDATOR who tried to rape a sleeping woman at King’s Cross station told police it was “okay because she wasn’t dead”.

Amer Mohamed, 31, approached the woman before exposing himself inside the station at around 5am on July 23 last year.

Sam Bankman-Fried planned to buy Sovereign Pacific Island Nation of Nauru and build apocalypse bunker – lawsuit

The disgraced cryptocurrency mogul Sam Bankman-Fried, who founded the FTX exchange, had planned to purchase the small Pacific island nation of Nauru in case the world came to an end, according to a new lawsuit.

The lawsuit, filed on Thursday by FTX against its 31-year-old founder and three other former executives, and seeking $1bn, included a memo created by Bankman-Fried’s younger brother Gabriel and an FTX Foundation executive. The memo detailed plans to buy Nauru.

The plan was to “purchase the sovereign nation of Nauru in order to construct a ‘bunker/shelter’ that would be used for ‘some event where 50-99.99% of people die [to] ensure that most EAs survive’” the memo said, referring to “effective altruism”, a philosophical and social movement championed by Bankman-Fried that tries to maximize the impact of charitable giving.

About 15 per cent of guests at Canadian AIDS conference claimed asylum

OTTAWA — Almost one-sixth of guests at a major AIDS conference in Montreal last year who received Canadian visas ended up claiming asylum, according to internal data obtained by The Canadian Press.

The documents also show Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada struggled to work with the International AIDS Society as both tried to avoid a mass refusal of visas.

God forbid they actually did their jobs.
