Psychedelic church asks panel to let it seek religious exemption for drug use

ATLANTA (CN) — An attorney for an Orlando church asked an 11th Circuit panel on Wednesday to overturn a Florida federal judge’s dismissal of its challenge to a Drug Enforcement Administration decision prohibiting the church from using psychedelic ayahuasca tea in its religious retreats.

Billing itself as a “spiritual learning and healing center,” Soul Quest Church of Mother Earth offers three-day retreats at its facility where participants can imbibe ayahuasca, a tea that contains the hallucinogen dimethyltryptamine, or DMT, in search of a religious awakening. For a $999 donation, Soul Quest Church extends participants the chance to join in on weekend retreat ceremonies to experience the “healing” attributes of the tea.

Pepper spray for the school run? The weaponised SUV set to terrify America’s streets

Sounds ideal for handling Guardianistas!

In southern California, parking lot warfare just got real. Not content with their supersized pickup trucks and child-killing SUVs, America’s road warriors can now go full military apocalypse, with the arrival of the Rezvani Vengeance.

While its competitors offer heated seats and optional roof-racks, this souped-up SUV boasts bulletproof glass, blinding strobe lights, electrified doorhandles, and wing mirrors that can shoot pepper spray – handy for putting those pesky cyclists in their place.

“Vengeance is yours,” trumpets the website, which details how the car can release a dense smoke screen to confuse people following you, as well as detect electromagnetic pulses from nuclear weapons. Always handy for the supermarket run.

Virginia teacher shot by six-year-old says that the school had been told three times boy was armed but failed to act

A Virginia teacher who was shot by a disabled six-year-old pupil texted a loved one an hour before she was wounded to say the boy was armed and school officials were failing to act, a source has revealed.

Abbey Zwerner, 25, had just finished reading a story when the child pulled out the handgun and shot her in the chest in front of her first grade class at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News on January 6.

A source close to the investigation told NBC that Zwerner messaged a loved one saying she was ‘frustrated because she was trying to get help with this child, for this child, and then when she needed help, no one was coming.’

Ontario claims $75M stolen in ‘kickback schemes’ run by alleged ringleader of COVID-19 fraud

The Ontario government is alleging that as much as $75 million in taxpayers’ money was stolen as part of elaborate “kickback schemes” in the awarding of computer contracts.

In a dramatic expansion of the province’s civil case against the ex-bureaucrat accused in the alleged $11 million theft of COVID-19 relief funds, the Crown claims at least nine others are involved in a separate “conspiracy” dating back more than a decade.

“The plaintiff (the Ontario government) paid out approximately $40 million pursuant to FFSCs (fee-for-service contracts) resulting from the kickback schemes. The secret commissions totalled approximately $35 million,” government lawyers say in Ontario Superior Court civil filings.

In Ukraine, it appears America will soon be arming both side’s combatants

From Afghanistan to Putin

I happen to be one who believes that the escalating war in Ukraine is entirely Biden’s fault, that the current Ukraine government is completely corrupt, and that the entire thing, which has seen tens of thousands of Ukrainian deaths and the destruction of large swaths of that country, has become a profitable boondoggle for politicians and military contractors. Call me cynical or naïve, but that’s where I am. I also think the whole enterprise has taken on a truly hallucinatory quality, exacerbated by the news today: Putin is negotiating to buy abandoned American weapons from Afghanistan while Biden is sending 31 Abrams tanks to Ukraine. We will have armed both sides to the battle.

Calif. teacher helps students change names, pronouns without parents’ knowledge

A California high school teacher has boldly confessed that she helps students change their gender identity — without their parents’ knowledge.

“My job, which is a public service, is to protect kids,” Olivia Garrison told the New York Times about helping students socially transition at school.

“Sometimes, they need protection from their own parents.”

Antifa Members Charged in Vandalism of Florida Pro-Life Clinics

Prosecutors say Caleb Freestone and Amber Smith-Stewart spray-painted threats of violence on three facilities in the Miami area between May 28 and July 3, 2022. Their graffiti made reference to “Jane’s Revenge,” an anonymous group that has taken credit for dozens of firebombings and other attacks on pro-life facilities in the wake of the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

RCMP misses deadline for employees to complete mandatory anti-racism training

The Mounties have acknowledged their ongoing problems with systemic racism and discrimination. They have touted their action plan for dealing with those problems.

But the RCMP has, so far, failed in its quest to have all of its employees take mandatory anti-racism training.

… “To date, over 50 per cent of the workforce has completed the Uniting Against Racism training and we continue to communicate the importance of this learning and monitor uptake to ensure employee completion,” said RCMP spokesperson Camille Boily-Lavoie in an email.

The Lancet goes off the deep end, devaluing human life as no more important than animals

Once arguably the most prestigious medical journal in the world, The Lancet has been captured by the left and is spouting embarrassing nonsense. A series of extremist left wing embarrassments in recent years, including a call for an outright ban on tobacco use in the UK, where the magazine is published, a humiliating retraction of an attack on the use of hydroxychloroquine to treat Covid followed by an explanation of what it learned from the debacle, and a cover that referred to women as “bodies with vaginas” followed by an apology have not taught it a lesson that sticks.

Doomsday Clock signals highest ever peril level

The symbolic Doomsday Clock has moved closer than ever to midnight, declaring humanity perilously close to catastrophe.

The clock, set to 90 seconds to midnight, marks how close our planet is to complete annihilation because of man made actions.

The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists (BAS) said the clock moved, in large part, because of the war in Ukraine.

The idea began in 1947 to warn humanity of the dangers of nuclear war.
