Kelly McParland: Is the United States worth saving — and how?

The Wall Street Journal ran a provocative article this week, under the headline: Is Harvard Worth Saving — and How?
The issue is whether the famed institution’s vital research and educational activities outweigh the moral rot exhibited by its bumbling reaction to an outbreak of virulent antisemitism following the October 7 massacre in Israel. Several members of its editorial board were given space to express their views. It was a worthy enough exercise but perhaps too limited in scope. A more pertinent question would be: is the United States worth saving, and how?
McParland hates Trump’s success.
Keir Starmer under fire as he faces fresh Muslim grooming gang bombshell

A report into the grooming gang scandal will this week tell the Government that a national inquiry into the scandal is required.
Sir Keir Starmer will be told to launch a new national inquiry into grooming gangs in a report which is set to link the scandal to men of Pakistani origin. The recommendation will come from Baroness Casey who is expected to tell the Prime Minister that white British girls were “institutionally ignored for fear of racism”.
Confirmation that seven Pakistani heritage men have been found guilty of rape & paedophilia from 2001-2006, they are:
Mohammed Zahid, 64, guilty of 20 offences including rape, indecency with a child, and attempting to procure a girl into having unlawful sexual intercourse.

Why Northern Ireland Is Really Rioting
The anti-immigration protests in Ballymena are a violent backlash against an unprecedented demographic upheaval.
For the fourth night in a row, Ballymena, Northern Ireland, has been gripped by unrest.
Riots broke out on Monday, following reports of an alleged sexual assault against a young girl. Two 14-year-old boys then appeared in court, charged with attempted rape, and were assisted in the courtroom by a Romanian interpreter. The assumption that the teenagers were foreigners fuelled speculation and anger in a town where tensions between the native population and migrant communities were already running high. Consequently, what began as a peaceful protest to show support for the victim and her family soon morphed into the days-long anti-migrant rioting we are currently seeing play out.

HANNAFORD: Is this the last G7?

‘It used to be the G8. The next one could be the G6.’
In a few days time, leaders of the world’s advanced democracies gather in Kananaskis for the G7 meeting. That would be France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Great Britain, the US and (although increasingly as a courtesy) the economically-challenged Canada.
But, this could be the last one: the G7 is a relic of a different era.
Liberals’ clean energy crusade has been a super disaster

Before Prime Minister Mark Carney attempts to turn Canada into a clean energy superpower he needs to explain why a decade of Liberal government policies intended to achieve this have been a massive failure on every front.
According to the Liberal government’s own estimate, as of April 2023 it had spent or committed over $200 billion of taxpayers’ money to 149 government programs addressing climate change.
Israel-Iran strikes: What are the worst-case scenarios?

For now the fighting between Israel and Iran seems restricted to the two nations. At the United Nations and elsewhere there have been widespread calls for restraint.
But what if they fall on deaf ears? What if the fighting escalates and expands?
Here are just a few possible, worst-case scenarios.
Gazans …
Here are Gazans celebrating in the street as Iran attacks Israel.
Hang on, I thought these people were too busy suffering a “genocide”? And had no energy since they were starving?
I have no sympathy for these people at all. pic.twitter.com/hKQQ8GIhS6

Canada Is Gathering Global Leaders in a Province That Wants Out of the Country

MIRROR, Alberta—Prime Minister Mark Carney wants to use a Group of Seven summit starting Sunday to showcase Canadian strength and unity. But global leaders will be visiting an oil-rich province that is considering a divorce from Canada.
Rising disaffection in Alberta presents a challenge for Carney, who was governor of the Bank of England when U.K. voters decided to leave the European Union in the 2016 Brexit referendum. Carney has promised since winning election in April to strengthen Canada’s economy and reduce dependence on the U.S.
The feat would be impossible without Alberta, which holds almost all of Canada’s crude-oil reserves—the world’s fourth largest. The Western province helps drive Canada’s economy. Alberta contributed almost as much to Canada’s growth last year as its financial and manufacturing hub of Ontario, which has more than three times the population, government figures show.

RCMP ignores risks to using confidential informants, review says

OTTAWA — Canada’s federal police force is ignoring risks to confidential informants and failing to take “special care” during national security investigations that could impact groups like religious and ethnic communities, concludes a yet-to-be released report by a federal watchdog.
The report by the National Security and Intelligence Review Agency (NSIRA), which was obtained by the Star through an access to information request before it was made public, warns the Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s “dated” human sources policy needs “serious attention” to improve accountability and oversight.

‘Already Past The Tipping Point‘: Academic Sounds ‘Civil War‘ Warning

A London academic has appealed to policymakers and military leaders to consider taking remedial action to minimise the impact of civil wars, which he warns have become a distinct possibility in Western nations.
Professor of War in the Modern World, David Betz of King’s College London, has claimed that many European countries now exhibit signs of being in a pre-civil war state. According to his research, there is a statistically significant chance of a war breaking out in the next five years in a Western state, and given Europe’s interconnected nature, it could spark similar conflicts in neighbouring nations.

Whistleblower: Lockheed Martin Awarded Bonuses Based on Race

The company allegedly required managers to reward employees “on the basis of their skin color alone and contrary to documented performance.”
Many believe that masculine industries, such as military and defense, are naturally immune to left-wing race and gender ideologies. This is mostly a myth. These institutions are organized according to prestige and profit—and when those signals point to “woke,” industry leaders have dutifully followed.
Take America’s largest defense contractor, Lockheed Martin. As we have previously reported, after the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement, Lockheed adopted radical DEI policies and, in one instance, required white men in leadership positions to attend a racial reeducation program and atone for their “white male privilege.”
LIVE: The Army’s 250th Anniversary and Grand US Military Parade
What to expect at Trump’s $45 million military parade celebrating the US Army’s 250th in DC
Hundreds of thousands of revelers are expected to flood the streets of Washington, DC, Saturday to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the US Army.
The multi-million dollar parade — which also happens to be President Trump’s 79th birthday — will feature a dramatic display of around 6,600 soldiers as well as hundreds of vehicles and aircraft, Army officials said.
“We’re going to have a great time; we are going to have a great celebration,” Trump said, touting the festival as a show of US military might.
Men are not OK, report on premature deaths in Canada suggests

About 44 per cent of men living in Canada die prematurely, according to a new report from the Movember Institute of Men’s Health.
The report defines premature mortality as deaths in men before age 75. The deaths from cancer, coronary heart disease, accidents, suicide and the opioid crisis include some causes that might have been prevented through vaccinations, lifestyle changes like quitting smoking or avoiding injuries.
In 2023, almost 75,000 males died prematurely, according to Statistics Canada.
