Israeli ‘decapitation strikes’ wiped out top military command

Israel has launched a series of stunning strikes against Iran, aiming to cripple Tehran’s nuclear programme and its military leadership.

The IDF said about 200 jets were involved in striking around 100 targets on Friday morning, which appeared to include senior members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and top nuclear scientists.

Those killed included Hossein Salami, commander-in-chief of the powerful IRGC, and Mohammad Bagheri, chief of staff of Iran’s armed forces, according to reports.

Potentially more potential graves found potentially

… On Thursday, English River announced that a ground-penetrating radar search at the site that began in 2021 has identified dozens more anomalies at the site of the school.

An estimated 150,000 First Nations, Inuit and Métis children were forced to attend the government-funded, church-run residential schools across Canada, which were largely overseen by the Catholic Church. The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation has recorded the names of more than 4,000 who died, but many experts believe the number to be higher.

WASHINGTON — The CIA released 1,450 additional pages of documents related to the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy on Thursday, including 54 previously classified documents and revealing records on his killer — and no evidence of a wider conspiracy.

The files shed more light on the motivations of Sirhan Sirhan, the Palestinian-born Jordanian citizen convicted of Kennedy’s murder after the June 5, 1968, shooting in Los Angeles — and contain a psychological profile of the gunman as well as his handwritten notes.

German Police Purge Targets AfD Members

In an alarming display of ideological instrumentalization of state institutions, the Bundestag’s police commissioner, Social Democrat Uli Grötsch, has openly called for the expulsion of all police officers who are members of Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), the country’s number one opposition party. The proposal has ignited a political storm, as it signals an unprecedented political purge within one of the pillars of the state: law enforcement agencies.

Canadians favour other countries over Donald Trump’s America, survey suggests … they also elected Justin Trudeau so be mindful of their judgement

As G7 leaders gather in Kananaskis, Alta., a new poll suggests Canadians are souring on the U.S. and embracing relations with other world powers.

The Pollara Strategic Insights survey found net impressions of the U.S. have plunged since President Donald Trump returned to office in January.

At the same time, Canadians are feeling positive about the other G7 member nations: Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, France and Germany.

Israel chose to act now, whether Trump likes it or not

It has been clear that there has been growing tension between Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump over the possibility that Israel would launch an attack on Iran.

Trump has been telling the Israeli leader that he doesn’t want him to do this now and to wait, while the US administration continues nuclear negotiations with the Iranians.

But the Israelis clearly thought that they had their opportunity to act.

They believe that the Iranians are as debilitated as they are going to be in the region after last year’s degradation of Hezbollah in Lebanon – that took away a huge deterrent factor from Israel.

Mixed signals.

Government told Liberal MP to put motion on honorary citizenship for Jimmy Lai on hold

The government’s leader in the House of Commons told the Liberal MP spearheading a drive to grant jailed Hong Kong publisher Jimmy Lai honorary citizenship to shelve a motion supporting its award, just before she was about to present it on Wednesday.

Judy Sgro, a veteran Liberal MP, had gained the support of MPs from all parties for a unanimous consent motion raising the plight of Mr. Lai, who has been held in solitary confinement for four and a half years.

Mr. Lai, a British citizen and publisher of the now shuttered pro-democracy Apple Daily newspaper, was arrested in Hong Kong on conspiracy and sedition charges in December, 2020.

Senators To Propose Ban On Big Pharma Ads As TV Networks Stand To Get Wrecked

Sens. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) and Angus King (I., Maine) introduced a bill Thursday that would ban pharmaceutical manufacturers from using direct-to-consumer advertising, including social media, to promote their products.

The bill would prohibit any promotional communications targeting consumers, including through television, radio, print, digital platforms and social media. It will apply to all prescription drug advertisements.

“The American people don’t want to see misleading and deceptive prescription drug ads on television,” Sanders said in a statement. “They want us to take on the greed of the pharmaceutical industry and ban these bogus ads.”

Protests at G7 summit expected to be largely peaceful, targeting Trump policies

Protests during the upcoming G7 leaders’ summit in Kananaskis, Alta., may be starkly different than demonstrations happening this week against immigration crackdowns in the United States.

A University of Toronto research group that has been monitoring the meetings of world leaders since 1998 says its analysis shows Canadian protests are more peaceful and smaller.

But similar to the recent demonstrations in Los Angeles, they’re likely to be against the policies of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Well it will give Trump a measure of the loons he’ll inherit should he ever annex us.

California Was Never The ‘Homeland’ Of Mexican Invaders

In the midst of the riots that have raged across Los Angeles in response to the Trump administration’s raid to apprehend criminals, Mexican flags have emerged as a prominent emblem of the rioters’ lawless defiance.

While the New York Times gushed that the rioters’ usage of the flag represented “pride in their heritage,” most Americans saw it for what it was: a symbol of conquest. But many leftists are now making that very argument, that it represents a reclamation by Mexico of land supposedly “stolen” by the United States.
