CNN journalist mocked for saying she’s ‘afraid’ to travel to the US: ‘As if I was going to North Korea’

Christiane Amanpour – self important idiot

CNN’s famed war correspondent, Christiane Amanpour, is being mocked for claiming she’s terrified of traveling to the US — and even needs burner phones and other prep “as if I was going to North Korea.”

The British-born journalist, who has covered war zones extensively throughout her career, revealed that she spoke to CNN security and carried a burner phone when she traveled to the US last month to give an address at Harvard University.

CHARLEBOIS: Where’s the beef? Priced out of the Canadian grill

With summer weather finally settling in, Canadians are returning to a familiar ritual — firing up the barbecue. But as they approach the meat counter in search of steaks and burgers, many are encountering a far less familiar reality: Shockingly high prices. This year, the meat aisle has become a case study in supply-side economics and market dysfunction.

Since January, according to Statistics Canada, beef prices have surged at an alarming pace. Striploin is up 34.2%, top sirloin 33.7%, and rib cuts nearly 12%. Pork rib cuts and chicken breasts have each risen 5.9%, and even meatless burger patties are 6.8% more expensive. While all proteins in the so-called “meat trifecta” have climbed, beef leads the charge — by a wide margin.

How bitter Trump-Musk feud escalated – and what happens next

What happens when the richest person and the most powerful politician have a knock-down, drag-out fight?

The world is finding out – and it’s not a pretty picture. Donald Trump and Elon Musk have two of the biggest megaphones, and they have now turned them on each other, as a disagreement has ballooned into a war of words.

Trump has threatened Musk’s voluminous business dealings with the federal government, which form the lifeblood of his SpaceX programme.

I am sorry and annoyed this happened. It’s an unneeded distraction that plays into Democrat hands.

Isn’t Popeyes Halal? … ‘Unsafe’: Popeyes accused of storing chicken in residential garages in Ontario

A lawsuit filed against Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is accusing the fried chicken chain of buying “unsafe” meat from an unauthorized seller that was allegedly storing and packaging raw chicken in residential garages in Ontario.

The lawsuit was filed at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on May 26 by ADP, a former raw chicken supplier to Popeyes. The company alleges they lost their contract with Popeyes after bringing forward its concerns about the “unsafe supply” of products.

I find it very interesting that the company accused of supplying the Garage Chicken is not not named in the article. Popeyes is Halal.

Trump threatens to impose sanctions on Ukraine

Donald Trump has threatened to impose sanctions on Ukraine as well as Russia if the two sides fail to reach a peace agreement.

In an Oval Office meeting with Friedrich Merz, the German chancellor, Mr Trump likened the war in Ukraine to a fight between two young children in a park.

“Sometimes you’re better off letting them fight for a while and then pulling them apart,” Mr Trump said.

Diddy judge explodes at rapper for ‘absolutely unacceptable’ attempts to sway the jury

The sex trafficking and racketeering trial of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs continued on Thursday with more dramatic testimony, including that of a third alleged victim.

Judge Arun Subramanian admonished the disgraced music mogul on Thursday after he noticed him ‘nodding vigorously’ at the jury, warning that he would kick him out of hid own trial if he continued the behavior.

Subramanian’s stern warning came just before a third alleged sex trafficking victim, known only as ‘Jane’, took the stand.

Hate Crime: Leaked docs show Ontario school staff are being trained to believe the term ‘family’ is rooted in white supremacy

Now showing more anti white bullshit

The Waterloo Regional District School Board (WRDSB) has apparently approved training material for staff that alleges the term “family” is racist.

According to internal documents published June 4 by independent media outlet Juno News, the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation is telling staff at the Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School that the term “family” is rooted in white supremacy.

Can you imagine the outrage in our media if this slur were leveled against Muslims or Jews?

I hope parents launch a hate crime complaint.

Sailors abandon ship as fire engulfs electric vehicles on board

Morning Midas: Abandoned, rescue tugs 4 days away

A cargo carrier transporting hundreds of electric vehicles from China to Mexico is on fire off the United States, leading to fears over the dangers of the lithium batteries on board.

All 22 crew members of the vessel, the Morning Midas, have abandoned ship after they were unable to bring the fire under control. They were picked up by another cargo ship, the Cosco Hellas, from a lifeboat floating in the mid north Pacific, near the international date line between Japan and Alaska.

Randall Denley: Ontario is finally forcing out DEI from schools and universities

Ontario Premier Doug Ford has done something truly conservative. His government’s proposed rule changes for colleges, universities and school boards are aimed squarely at shifting power away from the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) crowd and weakening their control over education.

It’s welcome news for anyone who thinks that public education should be about learning and diversity of ideas, not a playground for political activists.

I hope he’s right.

SCOTUS: No, Straight White People Don’t Have To Provide More Proof Of Discrimination Than Everyone Else

The Supreme Court unanimously decided that “majority groups” don’t have to provide more evidence than other groups to show discrimination. SCOTUS sent the case, Ames v. Ohio Department of Youth Services, back to the lower courts on Thursday, ruling that the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals had improperly required Marlean Ames, the plaintiff, “to satisfy a heightened evidentiary standard” to prove that her gay co-workers acted with a “discriminatory motive.”

Haiti’s de facto president, facing ‘situation of war,’ seeks more help from Canada

Fritz Alphonse Jean, de facto president of Haiti, is calling from a well-appointed office in the Villa d’Accueil, temporary home of the Haitian government. It is an island of calm in what Mr. Jean calls the country’s “situation of war.”

The machinery of state has been forced to largely relocate from the National Palace, a grand neoclassical building in Port-au-Prince that typically houses the country’s leaders, because of regular gunfights between heavily armed gangs and the habitually underpowered police.
