Mia Hughes: Nova Scotia ignores growing evidence against youth gender affirming care

In recent years, a clear pattern has emerged in paediatric gender medicine: every country that has reviewed the evidence for interventions such as puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for adolescents has found it to be exceptionally weak, and responded by shifting towards cautious, psychotherapeutic care. In sharp contrast, Nova Scotia has just announced an expansion of its paediatric gender services to ensure that youth across the province can access these controversial medical treatments.

U.S. to pay nearly $5 million to family of Jan. 6 rioter Ashli Babbitt

President Donald Trump’s administration is set to pay nearly $5 million to the family of Ashli Babbitt to settle a lawsuit brought by the estate of the Trump supporter who was fatally shot by police when she tried to storm the House Speaker’s Lobby during the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Babbitt’s family filed the wrongful death lawsuit in early 2024, seeking $30 million. Lawyers for both sides told a judge this month that they had reached a settlement in principle, reversing the Justice Department’s earlier opposition in the case, which had been set for trial in July 2026.

KLEIN: UBC lawsuit lifts the veil on Canada’s divisive identity politics

Over the past nine years, Canadian institutions — egged on by activist groups and enabled by government — have embraced a form of social engineering that’s done real damage to our country. We were told it would make society more inclusive. In reality, it’s divided Canadians along lines of race, identity, politics, and belief. It’s undermined trust in our institutions, punished dissent, and created a culture where some voices are valued more than others.

Muslim Council proposes bill to recognize state of Palestine

A new draft bill by the National Council of Canadian Muslims calls on Parliament to formally recognize the state of Palestine, marking what the group says would be a historic step in Canadian foreign policy, according to Blacklock’s Reporter.

“What is happening right now in Gaza is one of the great moral issues of our time, if not the greatest,” CEO of the National Council Stephen Brown told reporters.

“This doesn’t bode well for us as Canadians … First model legislation in Canadian history that charts our own course as a nation on Palestinian human rights.”

Why the West’s next mass blackouts might be ‘made in China’

Discovery of a Chinese ‘kill-switch’ in a US solar farm sparks fears of widespread power cuts

“Cheap, clean power, to give us energy security,” declared Ed Miliband, as he strode through a grassy field flanked by rows of solar panels.

With a film crew in tow, the Energy Secretary visited Castle Hill solar farm, in East Yorkshire, last Thursday to promote the launch of Great British Energy, the new publicly owned energy company.

If he gets his way, there will soon be many more sites like it. Under Labour’s clean power mission, the Government wants to almost triple the amount of British solar capacity by 2030.

The Easiest Thing Republicans Can Do Right Now Is Find Out Who Was Running The Country For Four Years

On Sunday it was revealed that President Joe Biden has an aggressive form of prostate cancer — a diagnosis that likely was made in the early days of his presidency. The revelation comes on top of the quasi-reckoning taking place about the cover-up of Biden’s cognitive decline. While Democrats and the propaganda press try to obscure their roll in the cover-up, Republicans need to get their boots dirty for once and start figuring out who was acting as president for four years.

IDF claps back against Anita Anand’s criticism of the Gaza war

TEL AVIV — The international spokesman for the Israeli Defence Forces has clapped back against Foreign Minister Anita Anand’s criticism of the Gaza war, even as the Liberal government broadened its messaging to call for Hamas to disarm and cede power.

In a scrum with reporters after being sworn in last week, Anand described Israel’s post-October 7 war on Hamas as “aggression,” accusing the Jewish state of using food as a political toll. She cited a death toll of 50,000 in the war, a figure released by the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry.

UK Anti-Israel Activist Arrested for Islamophobia for Protesting Hamas Murder of Muslims

How bad are things in the UK? It’s at the point where it’s getting to be worse than some actual Muslim countries. In actual Muslim countries, Sharia law is officially implemented and it’s clear what is and isn’t against the law. In the UK, public order and hate crime regulations have been used to construct a lawless and nebulous structure that allows the police to threaten anyone with arrest for offending Islam.

Growth of wind ‘farms’ put Golden Eagle on ‘path to possible extinction’

A species that’s been ranked as a “least concern” by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (ICUN) is now on a fast track to “possible extinction.”

And, like essentially all the chaos, brokenness, and death one can observe in the modern world, if you unravel the thread to get to the why, you’ll no doubt arrive at a leftist policy in some capacity.

A drastic increase in violent crime? Look no further than the federal government’s “war on poverty,” open borders, and the promotion of godlessness.

FBI boss Kash Patel launches scathing accusation at ’51st state’ Canada after alarming terrorism finding

FBI Director Kash Patel dropped a major bombshell on Sunday by accusing Canada of allowing drugs and terrorists to flow over the northern border into the U.S.

Patel is turning his attention to Canada and demanding the country do more to stop illegal activity at the border.

He said that Mexico has done more to partner with Washington, D.C. to stop those on the terrorist watch list and other bad actors from getting over the border, and he told Canada to ‘step up’ to the plate.

The old-school horror of Scotland’s gangs

Police have turned a blind eye

Hay Drive doesn’t look like a gangland stronghold. With its whitewashed homes and its looming rows of satellite dishes, it’s a vision of unchanging Scottish suburbia, stolid, dreary, perhaps a little poor. But, last month, this anonymous corner of south Edinburgh exploded into violence. On 4 April, at about 1:20am, a house on Hay Drive was set ablaze. The fire soon spread to a nearby, seriously damaging both. And not only that. Since March, around a dozen properties have faced arson attacks right across the Central Belt, a campaign accompanied by shootings and assaults.

Is Christian Nationalism The Solution To The Frailty Of Liberalism?

Conservative movements are often depicted as unyielding and uncompromising; dangerously incapable of adaptation when new ideas come to light. This image of the political right is rooted in a number of misconceptions. In reality, modern conservatives are often far too compromising – Far too willing to go along to get along. None of us wants to be seen as a dictator.

Perhaps the most important and defining characteristic of conservatives (at least in the US) is a regard for freedom, but ONLY freedom that is tempered by responsibility. When leftists (or libertarians) scrutinize the conservative ideal they usually reach back around 50 years to the days of evangelical censorship – The attempts to shut down the porn industry, temper the gay agenda in media, warn about satanic references in movies and violence in video games.

KEENEY: Canada’s universities, islands of oppression in a sea of freedom

‘The treason of the tenured… what Saint Mary’s University reveals about the ideological capture of Canada’s universities.’

The modern university, once a sanctuary for critical inquiry and truth seeking, has become a laboratory for fashionable ideologies. Mark Mercer, a professor of philosophy at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax and a longtime defender of academic freedom, has provided us with a disturbing case study that reveals the depth of this transformation.

In his recent essay, “No More Loud Discussions of Private Matters, the Cabal Decrees”, Mercer chronicles the steady bureaucratic colonization of his university by a growing army of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) functionaries. It is a disturbing read.

Immigration, Islamism, and Antisemitism in Canada

In truth, any democratic nation that opens its doors to Islamic fundamentalists inevitably courts its own collapse.

Since Hamas’ grotesque attack against the nation of Israel and the Jewish people on October 7th, Canada has become rife with antisemitism. Unfortunately, the Jew-hatred that has defaced Canadian society is not a mere consequence of the Israel-Palestine Conflict and its most recent outbreak.

Rather, Canada has been engulfed by antisemitism and Jew-hatred throughout the modern era, due to the fact that, for nearly a decade, the Liberal government’s inadequate migration policy and summary inability to secure Canada’s borders has permitted radical Islamic ideology and fundamentalism to flow freely into Canada.

A Medical Doctor Dropped a Bombshell on MSNBC About Biden’s Cancer Diagnosis

After that statement, there are going to be congressional hearings. There’s got to be a reason because we have yet another Joe Biden medical issue that the Democrats covered up. After facing damning anecdotes about his deteriorating mental health, including the release of some of the Robert Hur tapes where it’s now for all to see that Joe Biden did forget when Beau died, we learned the former president has an aggressive prostate cancer that had metastasized to his bones. It was an obvious pivot to dampen the incrimination stories of the Biden mental health cover-up. Instead, it only magnified this con job.
