‘HIGHLY POLITICIZED’: External review on RCMP management of Freedom Convoy released

A comprehensive external review of the RCMP’s response to the 2022 Freedom Convoy describes the “highly politicized” invocation of the Emergencies Act.

The 92-page National After-Action Review, codenamed Project NATTERJACK and led by retired Assistant Commissioner Eric Slinn, reveals significant shortcomings in four main sectors: command, intelligence sharing, mobilization, and employee wellness.

Islamic Supremacist Students Plotting to Penetrate Canada’s Healthcare System Exposed on Discord

In May 2025, Dawson College launched an investigation into violent and aggressive social media posts that were created by Islamists and their enablers on the social media platform Discord.

The Discord channel, called “MedServeur,” had over 1,400 members and was originally established to assist prospective Quebec medical school students with the admissions process. However, the channel became a hub for violent imagery, Islamic supremacist commentary, and hateful content targeting various groups.

Multiple people injured after Mexican navy tall ship slams into Brooklyn Bridge as search and rescue operation underway

A massive Mexican navy tall ship making a festive visit to New York slammed into the Brooklyn Bridge late Saturday — toppling one of its huge masts into the deck in a horrifying scene that left multiple crew members seriously injured, according to fire officials and sources.

A search and rescue operation was underway to pull people out of the water after one of the towering 147-foot masts on the Cuauhtémoc — which has a crew of 277 — collided with the bridge’s road deck just before 9 p.m., sources told The Post.

Why was it in reverse?

There were people in the masts.

Why I changed my mind about multiculturalism

When Blackburn MP Adnan Hussain complains about an opponent believing ‘free speech means protecting the right to offend Muslims’, you feel an instinctive response gathering in your throat. You’re damn right it does. It means the right to burn the Qur’an, mock the Hadith and doodle cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed performing in a rainbow-flag hijab on RuPaul’s Drag Race. In a liberal society, people should be free to blaspheme against any and all religions, even pretendy ones like Anglicanism.

Michael Higgins: How bad are things when the Liberals refuse to have a budget?

When the federal government spends your money — and it is most definitely your money — one of the ways it is held accountable is by presenting an annual budget.

The budget, among other things, details how the government spent your money, how much more of your money it will need in the future, the profligate and useful ways in which your money was spent, and — especially in the Liberals’ case — how much debt the government needs to rack up to pay for its excessive spending.

What Top Democrats Said Then, And Now, About Joe Biden’s Decline

The release of a new book by CNN anchor Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson, detailing President Joe Biden’s mental and physical decline during his term in office, has landed like a bomb inside an already disoriented Democratic Party — sending shockwaves through its ranks.

Obtained by Newsweek ahead of its publication on May 20, Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again paints a stark portrait of a presidency in turmoil—and of a leader whose public image of control and clarity masked private struggles with memory, stamina and recognition.

Worse than imagined.

What Were We Thinking?

A new book reveals the bad science and corrupt leadership behind America’s disastrous pandemic school closures.

In the early spring of 2020, freelance writer David Zweig was, like most suburban dads, willing to follow the advice of experts. “People were dying from a scary new disease, and my family and my neighbors were readily compliant with the governor’s orders to stay home and stay apart from each other,” he writes in his new book, An Abundance of Caution: American Schools, the Virus, and a Story of Bad Decisions. As a member of the “laptop class,” and living in a charming Hudson Valley village, Zweig knew that he and his family were among the luckiest cohort of Americans when it came to weathering the Covid-19 pandemic.

What E.M. told the jury over 9 days of testimony in the Hockey Canada sexual assault trial

The woman at the centre of the sexual assault trial for five former players with Canada’s world junior hockey team finished a marathon nine days of testimony this week in London, Ont. — before a sudden turn in the proceedings.

The accused men are Dillon Dubé, Cal Foote, Alex Formenton, Carter Hart and Michael McLeod, who’ve all pleaded not guilty. E.M., whose identity is protected under a standard publication ban, gave her account of the alleged assaults and answered hundreds of questions from the men’s lawyers.

Iran Is Using North Korea’s Playbook — And the US Is Falling for It Again

As the United States continues negotiations with Iran to prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons, if it does not already have them, it has become clear that the Islamic Republic’s regime is not pursuing these talks in good faith.

Far from viewing negotiations as a means toward a peaceful resolution, the Iranian regime appears to see them as a tool that has proven successful before, not only for itself but also for its authoritarian ally, North Korea.

CHARLEBOIS: Elbows up, food prices up — until feds quietly backed down

Bloomberg reported on Thursday that Canada’s food industry is now facing fewer counter-tariffs when importing products from the United States, except for orange juice, coffee and alcohol. For many, this came as a surprise. According to the federal government’s own records, on April 16 — in the middle of the election campaign — Mark Carney, not yet elected, opted to eliminate most of the retaliatory tariffs imposed by his predecessor, Justin Trudeau.

James Comey’s Insane ‘86 47’ Threat

Former FBI Director James Comey posted a photo of a “cool shell formation” from his beach walk today. In the photo, shells were laid out to read “86 47” on the sand.

Eighty-six, a well-known term by Americans to mean “to get rid of,” indicates intent to the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump.
