Christopher Dummitt: Canadians need a proud, not guilt-ridden Canada

The smart bet is that the ballot box question in the next federal election will be about national survival. Most of the debate will focus on economic choices, productivity, tariffs, trade and foreign policy. But what about culture?

To be a nation, we have to feel that we belong together, that we are more than a string of city lights in the night sky lined up along American border. It’s suddenly popular to be proudly Canadian — to vehemently publicly diss the Americans, and want to buy Canadian. But aside from being justifiably angry at Trump, what is this based on?

Trapped Antarctic scientists plead for rescue after ‘assault’

It typically takes about two weeks to reach the Antarctic research station on a freezing clifftop some 2,500 miles from the southernmost tip of Africa. When the weather allows.

One group of scientists dispatched to the frozen continent to study its climate are now utterly alone for at least ten more months, as ice floes and extreme weather make getting in or out impossible.

Given their isolation, the email that arrived from the Sanae IV base last week caused immediate alarm.

Quebec Is Replacing Multiculturalism With ‘Integration’—English Canada Should Do the Same

How can a multi-ethnic democracy like Canada forge a common identity out of a population with many disparate countries of origin? The Quebec government says that multiculturalism is the wrong model for this tough task, and is blazing a new trail that it calls “integration.” This approach offers a firm but compassionate model for integrating newcomers. English Canada should pay close attention.

Trump deports Brown doctor Rasha Alawieh over links to Hezbollah and slain leader

Donald Trump has deported a Brown University doctor over her alleged links to Hezbollah and the terror group’s longtime leader who was killed last year.

Dr Rasha Alawieh, 47, from Lebanon, was deported from Boston Logan International Airport to Paris on Friday despite having a US visa and a job teaching at the Ivy League college in Rhode Island.

Federal authorities told Politico that border officials moved to expel Alawieh from the country after they found ‘sympathetic photos and videos’ of prominent Hezbollah figures in a deleted items folder on her cell phone.

Transit systems shouldn’t operate as shelters for the unhoused and mentally ill

The Société de transport de Montréal, the city’s transit agency, says it will no longer tolerate loitering in Métro stations, subways and buses.

The STM is implementing an “obligation to circulate” rule to deal with the growing number of unhoused people who are essentially living in transit facilities. The measure is, in theory, temporary (to April 30) but it’s hard to imagine what will change in that short period.

There is no question that the situation in some of Montreal’s 68 metro stations has become untenable.

Canada’s ‘Lost Liberal decade’ — Will Carney fix the mess he helped create?

Canada’s GDP per capita growth from 2014 to 2024 was just 0.5%—the U.S. figure was 20.7%, according to the IMF’s World Economic Outlook report from October 2024.

The figure indicates an average annual growth rate of approximately 0.05% over the decade, reflecting a period of economic stagnation under the Trudeau Liberals on a per-person basis.

Trump-Putin Talks to Follow Weeks of Diplomatic Turbulence Over War

President Trump is set to press his high-speed effort to bring the war in Ukraine to an end when he speaks to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.

Trump said “a lot of work” had been done over the weekend and that the U.S. had talked to both sides about dividing up “assets,” such as land and power plants.

The White House’s rapid-fire diplomacy is up against warnings from Moscow last week that much remains to be resolved before agreeing to halt fighting.

Trump brushed aside those concerns when speaking about his plans to talk to Putin. “We want to see if we can bring that war to an end,” he told reporters on Air Force One late Sunday. “Maybe we can, maybe we can’t, but I think we have a very good chance.”

Meet the Marxist Hate Group Sabotaging ICE Raids

“They patrol L.A.’s streets in search of ICE, Trump immigration raids,” is how the Los Angeles Times described the pro-illegal alien activists sabotaging the arrests of illegal alien criminals. The newspaper breathlessly described how ‘community patrols follow ICE vehicles and alert illegal aliens that federal law enforcement is on the way.”

The pro-illegal alien activists use megaphones to make noise, hoping to scare away the criminals that ICE has come to protect the community from, to the applause of the media.

Boot the Ungrateful Foreigners the Hell Out of America

I am loving this uproar over that communist terrorist fluffer from Columbia University, Mahmoud Khalil, who the feds detained with an eye towards booting his sorry rear out of our glorious country. First, I love how the commies are crying about it, how suddenly they care about free speech even though they carried absolutely nothing about free speech when normal patriotic Americans were being rounded up for daring to oppose abortion and bogus elections. I love how they’re calling his totally legitimate arrest a “kidnapping” when this guy’s unseemly and eager onanism over his dirtbag Palestinian buddies’ kidnapping of innocent Israelis is what got him busted in the first place. But mostly, I love this imbroglio because it shows that we Americans are not going to take any more guff from uppity foreigners.

Albertans explain reason they want to become America’s 51st state

While most Canadians recoil at the thought of becoming the US’ 51st state, an increasingly vocal minority are convinced it is essential for the future of their country.

Secessionists in Alberta say they are sick of their oil-rich province subsidizing the rest of the nation.

A dissatisfaction with the status quo, along with avid support for Donald Trump, has led to around 10 percent of Canadians expressing separatist views, the Telegraph reports.
