The first two fact checks came on January 28.

Saying ‘midwife’ could upset transgender people, medics warned

The NHS has been told it should stop using the word “midwife” because it is not inclusive of transgender people.

Academics claim in a new research paper that the term, which has been used since medieval times, is out of date and should be replaced with “lead perinatal practitioner”.

Dr John Peddleton, a senior lecturer in midwifery from the University of Northampton, and Dr Sally Pezaro, an academic midwife from Coventry University, claim the term “upholds the patriarchy” and its use “subordinates all who give birth”.

Protesters gather at Vancouver Tesla showroom, sound off on Musk and Trump

Dozens of protesters gathered outside the Tesla showroom on West 4th Avenue in Vancouver Saturday to voice their displeasure with the company’s CEO Elon Musk.

Waving Canadian flags and carrying signs with slogans like “Tesla funds fascism” and “Send Musk to Mars,” the crowd chanted, sang “O Canada” and chatted with at least one passing Tesla driver who expressed support for the cause.

Protester Laurence Perry called the turnout “incredible.”

As in incredibly stupid.

One in Ottawa too. About 100 were planned I have read. The Deep State at work. I’m sure Elon is packing that Mars rocket was I type.

Canadian officials, Muslim leaders call for action against Islamophobia

But one organization that defends the civil rights of Canada’s Muslim says not enough is being done to counter the rising tide of hate.

Amira Elghawaby, Canada’s Special Representative on Combatting Islamophobia, issued a statement Saturday, saying Muslims in Canada face systemic barriers and are subjected to violence and discrimination. Islamophobia, she added, comes in the form of racism, stereotypes and hostility.

Serbia’s largest-ever rally sees 325,000 protest against government

Hundreds of thousands of people descended on Serbia’s capital on Saturday to protest over the deaths of 15 people in a railway station collapse.

While the government put attendance at 107,000 across Belgrade, an independent monitor said 325,000 – if not more – had gathered, making it Serbia’s largest protest ever.

The Novi Sad collapse last November has galvanised anger towards the government and President Aleksandar Vucic. Demonstrators blame corruption and corner-cutting for the loss of life.

Now’s the time for an Anti-Trump Canadian civil defence corps.

Now’s the time for a Canadian civil defence corps. I’d sign up — would you

U.S. President Donald Trump’s desire to annex Canada makes me think of my old Scout motto: “Be Prepared.”

Trump’s tariffs and rhetoric threaten our economy and sovereignty. Our federal and provincial governments are fighting back with counter tariffs and policies encouraging increased interprovincial cooperation. Ordinary citizens are fighting back, too. Many, like me, are buying Canadian products at the grocery store and posting pro-Canadian messages on social media. Some are cancelling U.S. vacations or even selling second homes south of the border.

I can see our many many 3rd World illegal aliens just dying to sign up. They just won’t stop with the fear mongering.
