Only a brave rabbi denounced the killings of Christians in Congo

To be fair, a mainstream media outlet reported the story this time. On February 20, a week after the attack, Newsweek published an article titled “70 Christians Beheaded in Church: What We Know,” providing key details of the story.

But otherwise, more than two weeks later, one of the most horrific attacks in history against Christians has been completely ignored by the mainstream media.

Who is Mark Carney? From Bank of Canada to prime minister

Mark Carney says he’s the pragmatist to lead Canada through turbulent times. As evidence he offers his stewardship of the Bank of Canada through the 2008 financial crisis and the Bank of England through the tumult that followed Brexit.

When it comes to politics, however, the former Goldman Sachs banker is a relative novice. He has never served in Canada’s parliament and will soon become the country’s first prime minister to serve without having been an MP.

Do Not Be Fooled By Hamas’s ‘Long-Term Ceasefire’ Ploy

Adam Boehler, the US Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs, stated on March 9 that he did not rule out the possibility of reaching a long-term truce between Israel and the Iran-backed Palestinian terrorist group Hamas in the Gaza Strip. He also did not rule out the possibility that Hamas would agree to lay down its weapons, saying:

“I think there’s an answer here, and I think the answer is that Hamas lays down their arms. We exchange prisoners, and they [Hamas] go into a long-term truce, where they don’t fight, they’re not part of any political party, and that gives us lots of cooling-off time.”

We need a made-in-Canada DOGE. Here’s how to cut federal spending without messing things up

Ottawa’s deficit is projected to be just under $50 billion this year. According to the latest projections, it’s set to remain above $20 billion until at least 2030.

The risk is undoubtedly to the downside. The uncertainty caused by the threat of U.S. tariffs and now the fallout from their imposition will lower the GDP projections underpinning the government’s fiscal plan. It’s quite likely therefore that the deficit will be higher—particularly this year and next year.

PBS Plays Dumb on Why Power-Mad Trump Is Punishing Columbia University

Bias by omission on the PBS weekly news roundtable Washington Week with The Atlantic, as the panel of journalists played dumb about why Trump would cancel federal grant money from Columbia University, describing it as a typical Trumpian power grab. Whatever could have been happening there recently to validate such a move?

(Besides months of anti-Semitic campouts last year and the harassment of Jewish students and the chanting of homicidal slogans in the wake of Hamas’s terrorist invasion of Israel, of course.)

BROUSSARD: Trudeau and Carney are singing the same tune on deficits

Just three more years of deficit to invest in growing the Canadian economy, and then we’ll get right back to balance.

If Mark Carney’s pledge sounds like something you’ve heard before, that’s because Justin Trudeau made a very similar commitment a mere ten years ago.

To refresh your memory, Canada was undergoing what is called a technical recession during the 2015 election campaign.

What Canadians think about Canada joining the European Union

After reminding Canadians of the recent tariff threats and the musing of Canada becoming the 51st U.S. state, we asked if the Canadian government should look into joining the European Union. 44% of Canadians think that the Canadian government definitely or probably should look into joining the European Union, while 34% are opposed to it. About 1 in 4 Canadians are unsure about the suggestion.

As if the Liberals and NDP aren’t already economy wreckers now they want the EU to help!

‘Does Your God Have a Big Fat D*ck’ … apparently Bernie Sanders wants to know

Socialist Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders has shocked many for including a transgender punk rocker in his rally who belted out a song containing offensive lyrics that are being blasted as “pure evil.”

The Sanders rally which drew about 3,500 attendees occurred in Somers, Wisconsin, on Friday where Sanders — who is working to become the face of Trump resistance — invited punker Laura Jane Grace, the transgender head of the band Against Me!, to perform for the left-wing crowd.

Canada’s Liberals have put their faith in a novice

As widely expected, Mark Carney has become the new Liberal party of Canada leader — and will become Canada’s next prime minister.

The former Bank of England and Bank of Canada governor won by an overwhelming margin on Sunday, taking 85.9 percent of the vote. Former Liberal deputy prime minister and finance minister Chrystia Freeland finished a distant second with 8 percent. Carney will now meet with outgoing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to set a timetable for the transition of power.

In a battle with Poilievre, even Liberals think Mark Carney needs improvement

OTTAWA — Mark Carney may have been crowned leader of the Liberal party by casting himself as a political outsider, but his skills as a politician need work, say some of his supporters.

Carney walked into an Ottawa convention centre Sunday as the presumed front-runner of the four candidates who were vying to replace Justin Trudeau as leader and prime minister.
