How will Trump’s tariff war affect China, Canada and Mexico?

President Trump’s long-promised trade war is finally under way. As with all wars, it may be easier to start than stop.

Canada, already riled and unsettled by Trump’s funny-not-funny demand that it become America’s 51st state, hit back immediately, announcing almost matching tariffs of its own.

The US’s northern neighbour believes it can inflict real pain and make Trump think again: American refineries are big consumers of Canadian crude oil, though tariffs on energy will be just 10 per cent. Mexico is launching a “Made in Mexico” campaign.

A Unity Government?

Two calls for same …

If Carney wins, should he call an election, or try to keep governing? There’s a third option he should consider

In a period of crushing uncertainty, Canadians will face a somewhat predictable political narrative in the next several months.

On March 9, the winner of the Liberal leadership race becomes prime minister.

Given the fluidity of the polls and the surge in support for a Mark Carney-led Liberal Party, a new government may call a snap election, and we’ll find ourselves in the thick of a spring campaign, with Tory leader Pierre Poilievre finally getting his shot at leading the country

Tasha Kheiriddin: To tackle tariffs, Canada needs a unity government

Welcome to the 2025 trade wars. United States President Donald Trump’s tariffs threaten to upend Canada’s economy, and those of the world at large. Millions of Canadians could lose their jobs and businesses. The hour demands leadership like never before. So what should Ottawa do, and not do? I’ve got a few ideas, but I will start with the most radical: form a national unity government.

BARBER: Carney not the man to be prime minister

The mainstream media wants you to believe Mark Carney is the man who will successfully fight against President Trump and win the tariff war. However, Carney would be even worse than Justin Trudeau.

He began his campaign to become the leader of the Liberal Party, stating he was an “outsider.” This was a stretch. In fact, he is the consummate insider. He is the insider sitting in the backroom whom the face of the party listens to for counsel, even when the members of the party have spoken in opposition, as in the case of PM Trudeau.

British Media Is Hysterical Over J.D. Vance’s Sober Analysis Of Ukraine War

British media is offended by the suggestion from Vice President J.D. Vance that an American economic presence is a better security guarantee for Ukrainians than “peacekeeping” troops pulled across Europe.

On the eve of the president’s address to Congress, Vance went on Fox News’ “Hannity” with Sean Hannity to discuss the importance of a minerals deal between Washington, D.C., and Kyiv. The deal, which was supposed to be signed Friday, would have established an American-controlled fund filled with revenue from Ukraine’s natural resources designed to facilitate the war-torn country’s reconstruction. The agreement, however, was sidelined after Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky’s hostile White House meeting. Vance rejected Zelensky’s posture to prolong the war in the White House Friday and again on Fox News Monday.

Islamist Terror in the Congo: 70 Beheaded Christians Added to the Ranks of Martyrs

On February 13th, Islamic militants rounded up 70 Christians in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), took them to a church, and then beheaded all 70 of them.

Desperate Democrats

The Great Capitulation continues as Trump’s enemies bend at the knee like he was BLM. The Associated Press reported, “Democratic activists fueled anti-Trump protests at GOP town halls but also rage at their own party.”

Ah. I see. AP openly admits the protests were not a grassroots effort but lefty kabuki theater with paid actors.

Team Trump should want nothing to do with the Tates

MAGA conservatives keep mistaking scumbags and outrage-merchants for tribunes of the people.

The Tate brothers have been ‘rescued’. At the end of last week, influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate left Romania, where they were being investigated for allegations of human trafficking, money laundering and rape. The pair, who hold dual American and British citizenship, arrived by private jet in Florida 12 hours later. They insist they are ‘misunderstood’ and that the charges against them are a ‘conspiracy’. It seems there are some in the White House who agree.

‘Tangible desperation’: Critics’ withering reviews of Meghan Markle’s Netflix show

Meghan Markle’s new TV lifestyle series was slammed by reviewers today as ‘gormless lifestyle filler’ with a ‘tangible desperation’ after it premiered on Netflix.

The Duchess of Sussex launched ‘With Love, Meghan’ this morning in what is being seen as a make-or-break moment for the couple’s $100million streaming deal.

But in Amanda Platell’s Mail+ column, which you can read here, she said the show is ‘so awful it is almost compelling’, while Prince Harry would be as ‘desperate’ as Meghan for it to be successful so they can continue their ‘millionaire LA lifestyles’.

How The Far-Left Are Disrupting ICE Raids In Los Angeles

What started out as bystanders who happened to be in a neighborhood U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was operating in has turned into a full operation of far-left activists conducting their own patrols to be on the lookout for federal agents.

It should be no surprise one of the most extreme examples of far-left activists being confrontational towards ICE agents is happening in Los Angeles. Groups such as the Community Self-Defense Coalition and the Anti-US Israeli Imperialism in the Middle East use their local knowledge and social media to disrupt any arrests being made by ICE.

Tony Abbott: Trump is ending Pax Americana. We must not make it worse

There is no point adding to the chorus of dismay currently being directed at U.S. president Donald Trump because it won’t do any good and will almost certainly make a bad situation worse. Instead America’s erstwhile allies just need to accept that there is now no country whose freedom America will readily protect other than its own and do their best to ensure that the Pax Americana does not turn into a new world disorder where only might is right.
