GIESBRECHT: Canada’s blood libel must end

The “Blood Libel” is the false claim that Jewish rabbis killed Christian children and used their blood to make unleavened bread for their religious rituals. Although its origin is ancient, the ‘libel’ gained prominence in the 12th century during the First Crusade. It has never completely gone away. Even today, a version — that Jews are eating Palestinian children — circulates widely on middle eastern streets.

The libel has done incredible damage down through the centuries, resulting in pogroms, and even contributing to the Holocaust.

Jagmeet Singh says more stupid crap

Jagmeet Singh calls for Trump to be uninvited from G7 summit in Alberta

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh became the first Canadian political leader to call on the U.S. president to be uninvited from a major summit of world leaders this summer in Canada.

“Why would we invite someone who threatens our sovereignty and economic well-being? Why would we invite someone who threatens the economic well-being of allies and threatens the world’s stability? Why would we allow a convicted criminal into our country?” Singh said in a statement.

Singh is in Quebec on Wednesday, making a foreign policy pitch at the Montreal Council on Foreign Relations.

No, a CBC call-in show did not commit treason (or bad journalism)

It’s nice to see people getting passionate about public broadcasting, but what went on this past weekend was something else. Some Canadians were losing their minds over a CBC call-in show.

Cross Country Checkup, hosted by Ian Hanomansing, teamed up with U.S. radio show The Middle to simulcast a live two-hour show on CBC, NPR stations and C-SPAN. The idea was to hear from listeners on both sides of the border about U.S. President Donald Trump’s offensive comments regarding his desire to see Canada become the 51st state.

Donald Trump says Mexico, Canada tariffs now set for April 2

U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday said stiff new tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada would take effect on April 2, about a month later than an earlier deadline for the levies to take effect.

Trump’s remark came during his first cabinet meeting.

Earlier this month the administration had set March 4 as the effective date for 25% duties on goods from Mexico and non-energy goods from Canada.

Terry Newman: Liberal ‘debate’ turned into a two-hour campaign ad

On Tuesday, the Liberals held the second of two debates in Montreal, except it wasn’t actually a debate — it was a two-hour long commercial for the party.

This was painfully evident for those who had watched both the French debate the night before and Tuesday’s English debate. Yes, all leadership debates are advertisements for the parties to some extent, but what was significant about this debate was how little any of the candidates actually disagreed.

Where Was ‘60 Minutes’ and the Rest of the Liberal Press When America’s Industrial Heartland Became the Rust Belt?

The people here, it seems, were expendable to the elite. They had no college education, did not live in the right ZIP codes, and besides, someone overseas could do what they do.

CAMPBELL, Ohio — September 19 marked 47 years since thousands of employees, who were mainly men, did what they did every Monday in the valley. They walked into the Campbell Works of Youngstown Sheet and Tube along the Mahoning River for the early shift.

Within an hour of the laborers’ shift, Youngstown Sheet and Tube abruptly furloughed 5,000 of them in a single day. Within months, 16 more plants owned by U.S. Steel shut down, including Youngstown-based Ohio Works.

Make no mistake this is Carney’s ideal.

Urban Anarchy

A San Francisco nonprofit’s rise illustrates the unaccountable growth of homeless services.

Urban Alchemy, a San Francisco–based homeless-services nonprofit, is an organization of many slogans. Those include, among others: No fuckery (“Fuckery is lying. Fuckery is injustice. Fuckery is letting ego override empathy”); Don’t look, see it through your third eye (“The third eye represents the part of us that cannot be cheated, manipulated, or deceived”); and Once you see us, you can’t unsee us (“We are game changers, impact makers and community healers”).

Jamie Sarkonak: P.E.I.’s Dennis King was the only premier with the guts to tackle immigration

In a country loaded with conservative leaders who are shy about combating over-immigration, former Prince Edward Island premier Dennis King was a rarity. He saw that numbers were too high, so he lowered them — and he didn’t cower when cries of protest broke out afterwards.

When he resigned on Friday, ending his six-year premiership on a high note, he left the world of Canadian conservatism a model to emulate when it comes to standing one’s ground: be honest, be frank and, above all, don’t be a coward.

VIDEO: All of the Media’s Stupidest Objections to DOGE Cuts (So Far)

We all expected the Democrat/corporate media alliance to come up with some bogus reason to hate the Trump administration for slashing government waste, but some of the programs these journalists are mourning are beyond parody.

It’s starting to feel like there’s an ongoing bet in the “mainstream” press to see who can find the dumbest possible waste of taxpayer money to defend in earnest.

DNI Tulsi Gabbard says she’s firing more than 100 intel employees who took part in ‘obscene’ sex chatrooms

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced Tuesday night that she was dismissing more than 100 employees of the US intelligence community (IC) who participated in “obscene, pornographic, and sexually explicit” chatrooms on a government messaging platform.

Gabbard told Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime” that the spooks — who were exposed by conservative activist Christopher Rufo for having discussed their fetishes and sexual fantasies on the National Security Agency’s (NSA) Intelink platform — had committed “an egregious violation of trust.”
