Singh joins Poilievre in calling on Liberals to resume Parliament over U.S. tariff threats

OTTAWA — NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh is calling on the Liberals to recall Parliament and work with opposition leaders on a potential support package for workers who could be hit by U.S. President Donald Trump’s 25 per cent tariffs as early as Feb.1

Singh, who on Thursday spoke at an event with union leaders in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., said he wanted to be “really clear” that his intention to vote non-confidence in the minority Liberals when Parliament resumes at the end of March.

Such BS.

Why are ‘anti-racists’ silent about Arbel Yehud’s terrible ordeal?

Watching Arbel Yehud being freed in Gaza today, I thought to myself: this is what it must have been like at Salem. Here we had a diminutive woman being paraded through a baying mob of hollering men. They barked religious slogans at her. They shoved and jostled to get a better view of the marked woman. They thrust their mobile phones in her face to capture her terror for posterity. They’ll no doubt share the clips. ‘Look! See how scared she was!’

Pharmahontas on the Warpath at the RFK Jr. Hearings

It hasn’t been my intention to run a series of columns chronicling the Democrats’ long sojourn into the political wilderness, but let’s face it — these things are writing themselves.
Take, for example, the eight painful minutes that ensued when Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Pfizer), the self-styled Advocate For The People who rose to prominence as a fake Native American academic and who again and again is exposed as an utter fraud in politics, was given the microphone to examine Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the Trump administration’s nominee to head the Department of Health and Human Services.

If you haven’t seen this, you owe it to yourself to plow through the whole thing — if for no other reason than that you’ll get an opportunity to see just what kind of individual they’ll let into the Senate these days:

GOLDSTEIN: Trying to hit ‘net-zero’ target will cause economic carnage, report says

People who don’t understand lame-duck Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s climate policies — apparently including most Liberal politicians and their spin doctors — think it’s going to be easy to dismantle them.

That all they have to do is get rid of the consumer fuel tax that raises the cost of gasoline, natural gas and 20 other forms of fossil-fuel energy every year and all will be well.

Policing chief drops diversity guide telling officers not to say ‘black sheep’

A policing chief has torn up a diversity guide that told officers not to use the term “black sheep” saying the public want crime solved not “virtue signalling”.

In a statement to The Telegraph, Jonathan Ash-Edwards, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire, said he had ordered a review of all such documents that “damage public trust and confidence in policing”.

It comes after The Telegraph revealed the nine-page diversity guide for staff at Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire forces that told police not to use the terms “black sheep” and “blacklisted” in case they offended someone.

Oh Boy! Inside the new Peel Reception Centre, where benefit shopping “refugee” claimants will make their first stop in Canada

Nestled in an expansive commercial park in Mississauga not far from Pearson airport, this converted office building is going to be the first stop for many asylum seekers once they set foot in Canada.

The long-anticipated Peel Reception Centre, near Dixie Road and Eglinton Avenue, will offer what municipal and federal officials hope is a sustainable solution to the refugee housing crisis that has seen claimants overwhelming local homeless shelters, sleeping on the streets and setting up tents in Greater Toronto over the last two years.

Their second stop should be the airport and rapid deportation. No more Benefit shoppers.

Trump says he’ll decide Thursday whether to put 25% tariff on Canadian oil

President Donald Trump said his 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico are coming on Saturday, but he’s still considering whether to include oil from those countries as part of his import taxes.

“We may or may not,” Trump told reporters Thursday in the Oval Office about tariffing oil from Canada and Mexico. “We’re going to make that determination probably tonight.”

Patriot missiles from Israel sent to Ukraine through US, official says

About 90 Patriot missiles from Israel are being sent to Ukraine in a transfer facilitated by the United States, according to a US defense official.

The missiles had been in storage in Israel, which operated Patriot air defense systems for more than 30 years before retiring them in April. Discussions about transferring the missiles from Israel to Ukraine have been ongoing since last summer, when Biden administration officials were hopeful the effort might allow the unused missiles to be sent to Kyiv to aid in its war with Russia.

Dundas, Ryerson and Macdonald schools to be renamed in Toronto: TDSB

The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) will change the names of three public schools commemorating Henry Dundas, Egerton Ryerson and Sir John A Macdonald.

In October 2024, the TDSB — the largest public school board in Canada — embarked upon a proactive review of the names of all schools under its purview.

Ford could put a stop to this nonsense but with an election scheduled he won’t make a move that might offend the teacher’s unions.

And he won’t make a move after the election either.

The View’s Old Crones Attack Karoline Leavitt’s Looks and Opposition to Wokeness

The two oldest crones form the ABC News coven known as The View lashed out at White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Wednesday. Moderator Whoopi Goldberg condescendingly lectured Leavitt about her opposition to the sickness that’s known as “wokeness,” and insisted Leavitt didn’t know what she was talking about. Meanwhile, Joy Behar attacked Leavitt for her looks, suggesting that she only got the job because President Trump was attracted to her.

30 metre-long B.C. fence along stretch of U.S. border sparks international investigation

An unguarded, black chain-link fence erected in B.C. along the U.S.-Canada border is now the subject of an international investigation and could be in violation of a more than 200-year-old treaty, according to one immigration lawyer.

The fence, roughly 30 metres long, was put up at the end of English Bluff Road in Tsawwassen, a community within the Metro Vancouver suburb of Delta, B.C., on Jan. 16. That side of the border adjoins a park in the Washington state community of Point Roberts.

The International Boundary Commission, a bi-national organization responsible for regulating construction close to the Canada-U.S. border, confirmed to CBC News Wednesday that it did not authorize the fence and is now investigating the matter.

Sorry CBC but my “cultural identity” does not include funding child porn.

New CBC boss wants ’national conversation’ on Conservatives’ vow to defund the public broadcaster

OTTAWA — With U.S. President Donald Trump making “territorial claims,” the new head of CBC says defunding the public broadcaster could erode a pillar of Canada’s cultural identity.

Marie-Philippe Bouchard, CEO of CBC-Radio-Canada, is calling for a “national conversation” on the Conservative promise to defund, and is launching a tour to get it started.
