Guiding Hand: Look At All Trump Survived To Get Here

Wind chills hovered in the teens on Monday morning in the nation’s capital as President-elect Donald J. Trump prepared to take the presidential oath of office inside the more comfortable U.S. Capitol Rotunda. It was fitting it was so frigid in Washington, D.C., on this Inauguration Day. Democrats had long thought it would be a cold day in hell before Republican Trump would be elected president again.

But here he was, the man the left loves to hate, being sworn in as the 47th president of the United States.

George Orwell’s Green and Pleasant Land

George Orwell

Though I haven’t read all his works, I consider myself a fan of George Orwell, who died 75 years ago today. If having a copy of 1984 on the bedside table is enough to get the UK Government’s ‘Prevent’ programme sweating, my bookcase would have them both shaken and stirred.

A personal favourite is his 1939 novel Coming Up for Air, set in the run up to the commencement of the Second World War. The novel’s protagonist, George Bowling, is a lower middle-class, middle-aged man dissatisfied with his lot in life who feels a deep anxiety about the coming global war and is simultaneously perplexed by the seeming indifference of those around him.

Sad Hollywood Celebrities Wallow in Despair as Trump Rides Mandate Back to Power: ‘Nothing to Celebrate. It‘s Sickening‘

Hollywood celebrities were inconsolable as President Donald Trump was officially sworn in Monday for this second term in the White House, with stars expressing a wide spectrum of negative emotions including rage, bitterness, snark, and despair.

“America’s criminal presidency has begun,” CBS’ Two and a Half Men star Jon Cryer declared.

Trump watches in disbelief as woke bishop scorns him with ‘transgender children fearing for their lives’ claims

President Donald Trump was left in disbelief as he was forced to listen to a woke bishop deliver a stunningly negative sermon calling for him to show ‘mercy’ to illegal immigrants and transgender children.

On the first full day of Trump’s presidency Marianne Budde, the left-wing Episcopal Bishop of Washington, unleashed a wild lecture claiming trans kids were ‘fearing for their lives’ due to him being in the Oval Office.

Trump sat stony-faced in the front row, next to First Lady Melania Trump, as the prelate told him illegal immigrants were not criminals and he shouldn’t deport those with children.

It’s Not Just Trump and Musk They Fear—It’s You and Me

The contrast between the new and the old could hardly have been starker.

At his Washington D.C. inauguration, new U.S. President Donald Trump galvanised his supporters by banging the drum for all of the populist policies that won him the election in November: protecting America’s borders and stopping mass illegal immigration; trashing Net Zero madness and the ‘green deal’; resisting trans activism and woke ideology; ending the political weaponisation of the law; defending free speech vs. cancel culture.

Trudeau’s Liberal Party’s existential crisis a national risk

Many sources confirm that Canada has serious security problems that hostile powers exploit extensively. The Canada-is-back naïveté animating the decaying Trudeau regime led to open borders and infiltration of foreign operatives inside key Canadian institutions, from the Winnipeg Lab to the Parliament of Canada.

Allies question Canada’s eagerness to engage in an open diplomatic conflict with India, the world’s largest democracy and fastest-growing economy while overlooking China’s significantly more damaging actions despite being a formidable adversary to Western democracies today.

Tasha Kheiriddin: Trump’s agenda poses risks for Canada far beyond tariffs

The president’s policies on energy and DEI could drain Canada of its wealth and talent

The tariffs are coming. Not today, but perhaps on Feb. 1. That’s what U.S. President Donald Trump suggested on Monday, after his inaugural address.

Trump’s speech made scant mention of tariffs, only that he would be establishing an “external revenue service” that would “tariff and tax foreign countries to enrich our citizens.”

Trump White House Press Room Changes Are Long Overdue

There have been reports in recent weeks suggesting that there may be major changes coming to the White House press briefing room in a second Trump administration.

The White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) generally creates the briefing room seating chart, which gives the front row to what most of us would call the “mainstream media,” such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, and network news channels, most of which, if not all, are notoriously biased to the left. However, the new Trump administration may take the responsibility away from the WHCA and seemingly set the seating arrangements itself.

This reminds me a bit of when news station camera men fell into despair at the sight of reporters working with their own hand held models.

Brad Tennant: Jagmeet Singh says he’s done supporting the Liberals. There’s no reason we should believe him

Since the 2021 election, there’s been no safer bet in Canadian politics than wagering that Jagmeet Singh would ultimately back the Liberal Party. With Justin Trudeau stepping down as leader, we shouldn’t take for granted that this dynamic is necessarily going to change. Singh has repeatedly demonstrated a willingness to compromise his stated principles in exchange for concessions—or even the appearance of influence. Now the stage is set for a new Liberal leader to test this pattern.

Alberta’s Smith doubles down on diplomatic approach as U.S. tariffs expected Feb. 1

EDMONTON – Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is staying the course on her diplomatic approach to try to avert punishing tariffs from U.S. President Donald Trump as a new deadline looms.

Trump said late Monday he is thinking of instituting 25 per cent tariffs on Canadian goods starting Feb. 1, rather than on his first day in office.

Smith is doubling down on her efforts to address Trump’s main irritants, including beefing up border security and boosting military spending.

We’re better off following her lead than idiot Trudeau’s path.

Trump 47: A Civilizational Fork in the Road

“This was no ordinary victory. This was a fork in the road of human civilization.”

That was Elon Musk, super-hyped in his Trump inaugural rally victory speech. And he’s one hundred percent right.

The single most important thing that’s happening now, and that will unfold over the next several decades, is humanity’s transition from a planetary to an interplanetary species. (And, eventually, to an interstellar one.) And that’s tied to the election.
