Netanyahu says there is no ceasefire in Lebanon as Israel launches fresh strikes

Benjamin Netanyahu has said there is “no ceasefire in Lebanon” and Israel would continue “to strike Hezbollah with full force” as the country’s military launched fresh strikes.

The Israeli prime minister’s remarks and latest attacks on what the IDF called “Hezbollah launch sites” came shortly after Donald Trump said he had asked Netanyahu to be more “low-key” in Lebanon.

Despite the latest bombardment, Netanyahu said he had instructed his government to “open direct negotiations with Lebanon as soon as possible”. He said the talks should focus on the disarmament of Hezbollah and the establishment of “peace relations” with Lebanon.

Killer’s Indigenous heritage cited in lesser sentence for shooting of wife

Killer’s Indigenous heritage cited in lesser sentence for shooting of wife

An Indigenous B.C. man who shot his sleeping wife in the head after a 17-hour drinking binge has been sentenced to under seven years for her death.

The sentence is far below the Crown prosecutor’s request for 16 years and is partially the result of the judge finding the defendant’s Indigenous heritage a significant mitigating factor.

US has let in 4,499 refugees since October – all but three were South African

President Donald Trump’s overhaul of US refugee policies has created a major shift in the number and nationalities of people admitted to the country, US government data shows.

Since October 2025, 4,499 refugees were resettled in the US, according to the Refugee Processing Center. All, except three from Afghanistan, were South African.

In the last full fiscal year of the Biden administration, which started in October 2023, 125,000 people were accepted from 85 countries.

Another BBC self own, Great Britain is swamped by murderous 3rd World hordes their government refuses to halt while Trump has saved his nation from England’s sad fate.

‘Throw them out’ of Parliament: Poilievre in favour of recall petition for floor-crossers

After losing another of his MPs to the Liberals, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre says he personally supports recall petitions — a way for constituents to remove a representative if they garner enough local support.

“When a member of Parliament goes back on the word they made to their constituents and switches parties, constituents should be able to petition to throw them out and have a byelection,” he said during a news conference on Thursday.

“That would put the people back in charge of our democracy rather than having dirty backroom deals.”

Mamdani’s New York: ‘All I Know Is I Want to Start Terror, Bro’

Nobody got too excited about it, but there was an Islamic State (ISIS) attempted bombing in New York City a few weeks ago, and new details are emerging about exactly what happened. Now dashcam footage capturing a conversation between the two would-be jihad murderers has just emerged, and it further sets the record straight about one of the most wildly misreported events of our propaganda-laden age.

Why 173 seats — and not needing the Speaker’s vote — matters to the Liberals

Why 173 seats — and not needing the Speaker’s vote — matters to the Liberals

OTTAWA — Ontario Conservative MP Marilyn Gladu’s floor crossing gives the Liberals a virtual lock on a majority, and one that would allow them to do far more than simply survive confidence votes — because not all majorities are created equal.

Two of the three April 13 contests — in the Toronto ridings of University–Rosedale and Scarborough Southwest — are widely considered safe Liberal seats, while the Montreal riding of Terrebonne is expected to be more competitive.

Trump: Nato allies have days to send warships to reopen Hormuz

Trump: Nato allies have days to send warships to reopen Hormuz

Donald Trump has demanded that Nato allies send warships to the Strait of Hormuz in a matter of days, as he criticised the alliance for its inaction on Iran.

The fragile ceasefire between the US and the Islamic Republic appeared to hold on Thursday, while Israel said it would engage in peace negotiations with Lebanon after waves of air strikes killed hundreds of people.

After a meeting with Mark Rutte, the Nato secretary-general, Mr Trump issued a deadline to European capitals to pledge military support for reopening the key trade route within days.

The US president said Nato had been “very disappointing” and only acted when pressure was applied.

The ultimatum risks driving another wedge between the Trump administration and Nato’s European members, who refused to directly take part in the president’s war on Iran.

GOLDSTEIN: The shameless hypocrisy of Tory turncoat Marilyn Gladu

The two-faced hypocrisy MP Marilyn Gladu demonstrated on Wednesday, in abandoning the Conservatives for the Liberals, is shocking even when considering the ever-malleable “political principles” of floor-crossers in general.

On Jan. 11, the then-Conservative MP for Sarnia-Lambton-Bkejwanong since 2015 told her local Petrolia Lambton Independent newspaper she supported an automatic byelection for any MP defecting to another party.

Trump can end NATO support without congressional approval

Trump can end NATO support without congressional approval

A grumpy veto president is exactly what Trump haters should most fear.

The 1949 NATO treaty was ratified by the Senate. The agreement is that an attack on one member is an attack on all of them. NATO members are required to participate in mutual defense efforts.

Since U.S. NATO membership arises from a Senate ratified treaty, the Senate would have to approve withdrawal from NATO; however, there are enough Senate Democrats and RINO Republicans to block NATO exit.

US Lawmakers Demand IRS Crack Down on CCP-Linked Nonprofits, Citing New York Networks Connected to Foreign Influence Cases

WASHINGTON — Today two of the most powerful committees in Washington have jointly demanded that the Internal Revenue Service and the Treasury Department take immediate enforcement action against Chinese Communist Party-linked organizations operating inside America’s tax-exempt sector — citing, among other evidence, the same New York diaspora networks that featured prominently in the high-profile foreign influence prosecution of former New York State government aide Linda Sun, and in investigative reporting by The Bureau and the New York Times into Chinese consulate influence over New York City elections.
