The Latest ‘No Kings’ Protest Is The Sound Of A Tired Old Thing Trying To Not Die

The American political left as a cultural formation, and the Democratic Party as an institution, have sunk into a style of oppositionalism that contains no opposition. They speak in a vernacular of protest because they speak in a vernacular of protest, out of habit and as a cultural identity, but they have no idea what they’re protesting. They’re very angry about the, you know, stuff. Something something Trump something something.

CARPAY: Ottawa froze protesters’ bank accounts — now Ottawa wants your phone records

Like many expansions of government power, Bill C-22 (dubbed the Lawful Access Act) arrives dressed in reassuring bureaucratic language. It speaks soothingly about “facilitating access” to “basic information” and “modernizing” certain provisions respecting the timely gathering of data. In reality, this legislation represents a significant step toward building the machinery of a surveillance state in Canada.

The disturbing claims about the death of the Canadian child, identified only as LL, have come to light during the murder trial of Becky Hamber, 44, and 46-year-old Brandy Cooney.

LL, who died on December 21, 2022, was found soaking wet, unresponsive, and emaciated in the basement of the couple’s Toronto-area home before being pronounced dead at the hospital, the court was told.

UN Sends Billions to Islamic Terrorists Who Kidnap its Staff

Every March 25th, the UN commemorates its ‘International Day of Solidarity with Detained and Missing Staff Members’ while trying not to discuss who is kidnapping them.

The ‘International Day of Solidarity with Detained and Missing Staff Members’ commemorates the day when Alec Collett, a UN Information Center director, was kidnapped by a Hezbollah front group on March 25th, 1985, in Lebanon. He was held hostage and then a video was released of him being hanged. His remains were eventually recovered in Lebanon in 2009.

As the federal gun buyback deadline looms, questions are raised over how it’ll be enforced

Ed Landy has been shooting so long he can remember riding the school bus with a shotgun so he could hunt ducks after the final bell.

“My teacher would just tell me to keep it in a locker during school hours,” Mr. Landy recalls of his ninth-grade hobby in rural Manitoba. “And then he’d wish me luck at the end of the day.”

Now aged 75, Mr. Landy remains an avid firearms enthusiast, even as the federal government has limited their use and availability in the wake of several mass shootings over the past four decades.

European Parliament member Rima Hassan says she was denied entry to Canada

MONTRÉAL – A French-Palestinian member of the European Parliament says she was denied entry into Canada only days before she was scheduled to participate in conferences in Montreal.

Rima Hassan wrote online that she was “prevented” from coming to Canada in what she described as an attempt at censorship.

The far-left France Unbowed party said in a statement that Hassan’s electronic travel authorization was initially approved by Canadian authorities before being revoked on Friday.

Paying the Price: Western Europe’s Deadly Historical Amnesia

Western Europe is currently paying the price of historical amnesia.

Thanks to decades of mass Muslim migration—with particularly severe outcomes in the United Kingdom, Germany, and France—Western Europe has experienced surging crime rates in migrant-dense areas, grooming gang scandals involving the systematic sexual abuse of thousands of native girls, the emergence of parallel societies governed by sharia norms, welfare systems strained to breaking point, and growing cultural enclaves that function as de facto no-go zones for police and non-Muslims. Integration has largely failed, as large segments of these migrant communities reject Western values in favor of Islamic supremacism and separatism.

Carney deflects from floor crossing MP’s China’s slave state comments … wonders if he’ll have to report gift from Xi

Carney defends Canada’s approach to forced labour amid fallout from floor-crossing MP’s comments

Prime Minister Mark Carney defended Canada’s approach to forced labour as one of his newest MPs continues to face backlash for appearing to cast doubt on the practice in China.

Carney’s response to Michael Ma’s performance at committee last week comes during a sensitive moment in both Canada’s attempts to reset ties with Beijing and the ongoing trade war with the Trump administration — which is investigating whether its northern neighbour and dozens of other countries are failing to take action on forced labour.

The Victory Option

There are two kinds of people: the kind of people who want to end the Iran War and people who want to win the Iran War. The Victory Option encompasses the goal of the first kind of people because it ends the war, but ending the war is not the proper objective. The proper objective in any war is to win it. Anyone glancing at social media sees people with an absolute commitment to America’s defeat. And defeat comes about only if Donald Trump chooses to quit the war – because the Iranians can’t make us do anything since they don’t have a nuclear bomb, thanks to Donald Trump – in a way that doesn’t achieve victory. Victory means regime change. Once again, remember your Clausewitz – war is simply politics with other means. This is a political struggle. The military aspect is just how it’s being done, not what’s being done.

Millions of Americans are now eligible for Canadian citizenship and many are applying ‘just in case’

When Donald Trump was first elected in 2016, New York State resident Ellen Robillard briefly looked into getting Canadian citizenship. Her mother, after all, was born in Nova Scotia.

As a Democrat, Robillard was despondent at the election results, but she abandoned the idea after realizing that her young son wouldn’t be eligible for citizenship under a law that barred Canadians born abroad from passing their citizenship to children if they were also born outside Canada.

News outlets falsely report Somaliland called for extradition of Ilhan Omar

Several news outlets have falsely reported that Somaliland’s government called for the extradition of Ilhan Omar, basing their stories on a post from an X account that does not represent the state despite its claims to the contrary.

Fox News, the New York Post, Sinclair Broadcast Group’s the National News Desk and the Independent ran stories on the US representative. The reports centred on a post by @RepOfSomaliland in reaction to claims by JD Vance that Omar had committed immigration fraud, which echoed prior allegations against the Somali-born Minnesota Democrat that she has vehemently denied.

“Deportation?” the post read. “Please you’re just sending the princess back to her kingdom. Extradition? Say the word …”
