The radical left and Islam – a marriage heading for the rocks

POLICIES undertaken out of spite or mischief seldom end well. The left’s obsession with changing Britain with massive unsustainable immigration is now reaching what technocrats like to call an inflection point, a smarty pants word from differential geometry which to the rest of us means change – for the left as much as anyone else.

Last Saturday in Whitechapel, east London, a proposed protest by Ukip was banned by the police; into its place sprang a big demonstration by masked and balaclava-wearing Islamists shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’, ‘Zionist scum off our streets’, ‘From the river to the sea’, praise for the murderers in the ranks of Hamas and other pro-Palestine caterwauling. Alongside them were the far left in the form of Stand Up To Racism. There was some ill-tempered jostling between the apparent allies, some of which was caught on video and went viral online.

The woke use Muslim rapists to destroy Christian Europe, says top Cardinal

WITH remarkable honesty, a senior Roman Catholic cardinal has criticised the weak response of British authorities to Muslim rape gangs, citing the scandal as an example of how ‘woke’ activists throughout the West are instrumentalising Islam ‘as a tool to weaken Christian culture and tradition’.

GOLDSTEIN: Report finds antisemitism new normal in many Ontario schools

A federal government report suggests it’s open season on Jewish students in Ontario schools when it comes to being targets of antisemitism.

Equally alarming, it concludes schools and school boards are reluctant to address reports of antisemitism and are simply ignoring many of the complaints – or blaming the victims.

The hilarious breakdown of the Islamo-left alliance

With growing tensions between socially conservative Muslims and progressive liberals, what is the future of their traditional alliance on the British left? If events of the past week are anything to go by, the answer appears to be that there isn’t one.

This uneasy marriage got a reality check last week when a Green Party councillor and practising Muslim, Mothin Ali, appeared reluctant to sign a set of ‘pledges’ on behalf of the LGBTQIA+ Greens, Feminist Greens and other similar groups. The MP for Blackburn, ‘Gaza Independent’ Adnan Hussain, then waded into the debate. ‘It’s no secret that Muslims tend to be socially conservative’, Hussain said. ‘Is there a space on the left to create a broad enough church to allow Muslims an authentic space, just as it does other minority groups?’

HTS is no ‘liberation movement’

The overthrow of Bashar Al-Assad’s despotic regime in Syria this weekend has been cheered on by the UK government as well as much of the mainstream media.

Speaking on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg on BBC One, deputy PM Angela Rayner said that she ‘welcomed’ the news of Assad’s fall. Yesterday, foreign secretary David Lammy celebrated the Syrian president’s toppling, telling MPs that Assad is a ‘monster’, a ‘drug dealer’ and a ‘rat’.

In a sense, the government’s response is understandable. No one should mourn the end of the Assad dynasty’s brutal decades-long rule. Furthermore, Assad’s fall deals another significant blow to his despotic backers, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia, depriving both of a key strategic ally. Lammy’s geopolitical analysis leaves a lot to be desired at times, but he is right to say that Assad’s defeat is a humiliation for both Moscow and Tehran.

Yet too often, this understandable happiness over the fall of the Syrian dictator has morphed into an endorsement of the Islamist forces that toppled him. Sir John Sawers, the former head of MI6, even went so far as to describe Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the group that led the offensive against Assad, as ‘a liberation movement’.

Why the Left defends Islamic veils

The Left that arrests pastors who define traditional marriage turns the other way when Muslim women are hidden behind veils or killed.

Iranian dissidents accuse the German giant Bosch of manufacturing and selling Iran the cameras used by the ayatollahs to find Iranian women on the streets who do not wear the veil so they can punish them. Can that be the same Bosch that organizes the pro-LGBT “Pride like a Bosch” on the streets of Europe?

The West has become a cartoon of its own self.

Bristol University put my life at risk, says professor accused of Islamophobia

A human rights law professor who was cleared of Islamophobia has accused Bristol University of putting his life in danger to avoid being seen as anti-Muslim.

Steven Greer, 66, who was at the university until his retirement last year, said that he has been forced to wear a disguise and carry a weapon for his own protection after undergraduates at Bristol University Law School complained that elements of his course were racist and discriminatory.

Leon de Winter:’In 2048 the last Jews will leave Europe’

“It’s over,” said the late Hebrew U. antisemitism expert Robert Wistrich. “It’s a slow death.” It is actually speeding up.

“With the number of Jews plummeting from 3,000 to 600 in just a few years, the Swedish city of Malmö is the barometer of the slow demise of European Jews after the Holocaust,” wrote the late great Holocaust historian Robert Wistrich.

He continued: “It is not for nothing that former European Commissioner Frits Bolkestein advised the Jewish community of Holland to emigrate to avoid harassment by young Muslim fanatics. The prospects in Belgium and Norway are no better. The verdict is on the wall, for anyone with eyes to see. The reward for Europe’s regrettable and cowardly appeasement of Islamism will, however, be short-lived. Because bowing down and willful blindness come at a high cost in the long run. Muslims will eventually take their revenge on a European society that the most fanatical among them already loathe.”

Barbara Kay: Another Israel super-critic gets funding from the Trudeau Liberals

In 2018, Jasmin Zine, a sociology and Muslim studies professor at Wilfrid Laurier University was awarded a federal grant of $24,900 for a research project resulting in a report titled “The Canadian Islamophobia Industry: Mapping Islamophobia’s Ecosystem in the Great White North.” Its driving theme is the need to expose a matrix of people and groups who “demonize and marginalize Islam and Muslims in Canada.” Zine rightly identifies certain white-supremacy groups that have been called out for their racism many times. But Zine’s principal “watch list” targets individuals (including me) and organizations with views regarding radical Islam and Israel that Zine personally disagrees with.

The Mystery Of Anti-Semitic Rot On Canadian University Campuses Solved!

David Hofstedter: Antisemitic rot, on university campuses and in society, is worse than we thought

Recent examples of antisemitism in North America have exposed a horrifying and deep-seated prejudice that is far more dangerous (if that’s possible) than we already knew. You might think that post-secondary students and faculty members would be among the more enlightened people in the world when it comes to social and political issues. Think again. Neo-Nazism is on the rise on university campuses, including the University of Toronto.

… This level of antisemitism has been building up for years, manifesting itself in beatings and the desecration of synagogues. All of this is in the face of an increased effort to combat racism. Remember that the Nazi German culture was revered prior to the Second World War, despite the philosophy of white supremacy and hatred toward Jews and other minorities.

This is an an astounding piece of willful blindness and or outright deceit.  In fact it seems born of ideologically driven extremism.

According to the author  Anti-Semitism on college campuses is the fault of Neo-Nazis. Muslims & Islam aren’t mentioned at all. Nor is the Israeli-Islam conflict.

Neo-Nazis are the Big Man on Campus when it comes to anti-Semitism. Who knew?

Bernie Farber, well known Nazi Hunter in his own mind, lends his support. Why anyone would seek out Bernie’s thoughts are a mystery given his credibility is at virtual zero due to his association with the Antifa supporting far-left extremist group CAHN. But they don’t mention CAHN for some reason only Bernie’s previous role as head of the defunct CJC.

Are Liberal Jewish groups really that crazy?

The “big red wave” never did materialize, but this much did happen – Republicans did win the House, prompting alarm among Liberals.

What it means, then, is that they don’t control EVERYTHING. The Senate, the White House, the schools, the Arts, entertainment, the media, all that and more belong to them.

But not the House of Representatives – so no wonder it’s got them frantic. To them, life is so unfair if they don’t get EVERYTHING they WANT.

It’s bad enough that far-left extremist groups such as the ADL are anti-white racists but to observers this is Jewicidal Madness.

It’s not the first time supporters of Israel have watched in bewilderment as the Kumbaya Kool-Aid drinkers have drunkenly engaged in Interfaith lunacy.

Raise a voice against the despicable Omar and you’ll be called a racist Islamophobe.

Psst … This may in part explain the silence in the face of growing anti-Semitism you’ve noted. People have grown alienated and confused.

The New York Times’ partisan reporting lets Islamic extremists off the hook

A US paper of record’s podcast on the Trojan Horse affair is activism disguised as journalism

Anybody who has read The New York Times (NYT) recently knows the American newspaper of record has it in for Britain. Its correspondents describe us “cavorting in swamps” and surviving on a diet of “porridge and boiled mutton”. It reports that Brexit has ruined Easters and Christmases past and caused shortages of “candy”. Even the death of Queen Elizabeth prompted columns condemning the “repugnant royal demand for deference”.

In France, killing Jews is now routine

‘What is happening is an ethnic cleansing that one does not dare to name, in a few decades there will be no Jews in France,’

A film about the civil war in France has just arrived at the Venice Film Festival. Directed by Romain Gavras, son of Costa Gavras, “Athena” tells of a banlieue that is unleashed against French society. Well done movie, but the script of grievances and wrongs has alreadybeen seen and is very old.

What hides the killing of another Jew in a city just outside Paris by a Muslim neighbor with an ax, if not that in France there is already a civil war that our media are too busy hiding?

Liyahou Haddad was murdered on August 19 at his home in Longperrier, a town north of Paris in the Seine-et-Marne department. Mohammed Dridi claimed that he killed Haddad because he was a Jew. The Express reveals a murderer who posted frequent messages of hatred for Jews and praise for Islam.

Progressives for jihad

The woke set’s sympathy for Palestinian Islamic Jihad is deranged.

Remember when progressives were opposed to hardline religious movements that use violence to try to destroy democratic states? Those were the days. As a godless humanist instinctively wary of religious fundamentalism, I miss them. They really are long gone. The sympathy offered by self-styled progressives to Palestinian Islamic Jihad in recent days has made that clear. Islamic Jihad is a thoroughly regressive movement. It says it will settle for nothing less than the obliteration of Israel. It wants to create an Islamic State of Palestine in which Sharia would rule and all who fall foul of it – uppity women, homosexuals, atheists – would suffer. For the right-on to sympathise with such an outfit is akin to chickens giving solidarity to KFC.
