Still no date for Canada’s retail gun buyback as amnesty deadline nears

The group the federal government called “the primary source of information for industry” in the retail-banned firearm buyback says it still does not know when the program will begin.

This comes as the amnesty on banned firearms is set to expire on Oct. 30.

I hear they’re working on a racialized gun owner exemption for urban thugs.

Stop supporting Palestinian terrorism

Sept. 11 came and went this week as little more than an afterthought. Addressing concerns about terrorism is no longer in vogue, especially in this country. Yet the date when 2,977 innocent women and men were killed in New York’s Twin Towers, the Pentagon and on four airliners serves as a yearly reminder of the devastating consequences of terrorism.

Cut support to UNRWA? Not gonna happen with the LPC and NDP, I am not sure what stance the CPC has on the matter under Poilievre.

Numbers count on voting day.

Will Justin Trudeau’s plan to end GST on new rental buildings help tenants?

Will Justin Trudeau’s plan to end GST on new rental buildings help tenants?

The federal government announced Thursday it will scrap GST on new rental buildings, a move the building industry calls a “game-changer.” But tenant advocates say it won’t make enough difference in a market where renters are often forced into expensive “shoebox condos.”

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he would remove the federal sales tax on the construction of new rental apartments for the next seven years, a pledge he recycled from his 2015 campaign, as his Liberal caucus retreat in London, Ont., drew to a close.

It’s not going to help tenants. They’ll see no reduction in rental rates so long as Trudeau’s mass immigration scam is going full blast preventing supply from ever coming close to meeting demand.

All it amounts to is a sweetheart deal for developers. Expect donations to the Trudeau foundation to enjoy a bump.

Not everything is awesome, Justin Trudeau concedes

“There is discontent across the country.”

That is a phrase you might expect to hear from Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, whose speeches focus on the hardships caused by the high cost of living and the general brokenness of Canada.

But it was Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada for the past seven years and 11 months, who was talking about disgruntlement in the land on Wednesday. Or, as he termed it in French in response to a reporter’s question, “la grogne.”

Junior talks tough to grocery barons …

Ottawa summons major grocery CEOs to talk lowering food prices — or else

The federal government is summoning the heads of Canada’s major grocery chains to Ottawa this fall to begin discussions on a plan to lower food costs for Canadians, as inflation continues to impact grocery bills.

The companies are being tasked with coming up with a plan to stabilize prices by Thanksgiving, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said as he marked the end of the Liberal cabinet retreat in London, Ont., on Thursday, ahead of Parliament’s return next week.

Between Trudeau and Chow’s sales tax Toronto should be grocery store desert in no time.

Du Schaffst Das: Germany Closes Door to Migrants from Italy

Germany announced a stop to taking in migrants from Italy on Wednesday, September 13th, The Telegraph reported. Berlin cites challenges to accommodate newcomers, while the Mediterranean country struggles with an unprecedented wave of arrivals, and its entire asylum system is on the brink of collapse.

Berlin also said that the move was necessary because Italy fails to comply with the Dublin regulation, which states that migrants should be returned to the first EU member state they entered until their asylum claims have been assessed.
