Stranded F-150 Lightning Owner Calls EVs “Biggest Scam Of Modern Times”

A Canadian man’s frustrating ownership experience with his brand-new Ford F-150 Lightning is the perfect example of why a poor charging infrastructure can become the worst enemy of EV adoption.

Winnipeg area-based Dalbir Bala bought a Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck in January for around $85,000 (115,000 Canadian dollars), plus tax.

He purchased the vehicle to use it both for work and recreational activities, such as driving to his cabin or going fishing, and chose to go all-electric to save money on gas and because owning an EV is “responsible citizenship these days.” But his ownership experience has been far from ideal so far.

This is a retelling of the poor saps Winnipeg to Chicago journey. Worth a read.

When it comes to immigration levels, temporary permits are the elephant in the room

With pressure mounting to rethink Canada’s immigration policies, it’s no surprise to see a new minister, Marc Miller, take charge of the portfolio. Over recent months, we have seen an increasing number of articles, studies and reports warning that the rapid rise in population is stretching housing and health services and that the current immigration levels might be too high. More voices are calling for a course correction or restoring balance in Canada’s immigration policy.

See No Harm – For a new transgender study, the devil is in the lack of details.

Call it a match made in heaven. The Journal of the American Medical Association has a penchant for publishing non-rigorous research, and CNN has an insatiable appetite for promoting it. Their latest rendezvous comes by way of a study that sets out to assess regret and overall levels of satisfaction among people who elected to undergo mastectomies as part of a gender transition. The study appeared on August 9, and CNN ran an article on it within hours of its publication.

The Termination of a Canadian Public School Teacher

Days before my termination for being off script as a history teacher,  the CBC reported that NDP MP Leah Gazan – who on October 27, 2022, managed to get the House of Commons to unanimously recognize that genocide occurred at Indian residential schools – wanted legislation to outlaw attempts to deny this putative genocide or to make false assertions about residential schools.

“Denying genocide is a form of hate speech,” said Gazan, who represents the riding of Winnipeg Centre. “That kind of speech is violent and re-traumatizes those who attended residential school.” I certainly don’t wish to retraumatize the many former students at residential schools who suffered from abuse or neglect. Nor do I wish to appear as an adherent of the theory of Presentism: the tendency to interpret past events in terms of modern values and thinking. I simply wish to tell my story.

Just who is more likely to get violent in politics?

The fact that 18 million people think that force would be justified to restore Trump to the presidency is a bit scary, I admit.

The fact that nearly twice as many believe that force is justified in order to prevent his return to office is even more scary. That is 30 million people who, a bit more than a year out from an election that could have Trump reelected, inclined to take up arms in an insurrection.

When I was 14 a 40-year-old transsexual manipulated me into changing sex.

When I was very young, I was manipulated into sex reassignment (also known as sex/gender correction or sex/gender transition) by a transsexual man in his mid-40s.

For several years he gave me puberty blockers – dangerous substances that block the effects of testosterone – and hormones of the opposite sex, i.e. estrogens.

Just before I turned 18, a psychologist, psychiatrist, and sexologist, after one visit, without any tests, fabricated a diagnosis of transsexualism and referred me, officially, for a sex change, which should never have happened.

Jihad in Austria: ‘Christians Must Die’

Two young Muslims living in Austria recently confessed that they would like to “kill Christians” and “restore the caliphate.”

The boys, aged 15 and 16, were put on trial at the Leoben Regional Court on July 16, 2023. They had made plans to massacre as many people as possible during an attack on the middle school attended by the 15-year-old, in Bruck an der Mur, where they both lived.

EU image suffers in Malaysia, Indonesia over Quran burning

Well that sign is revealing.

Attempts by the European Union to bolster free speech in parts of Asia have taken another setback following protests from Muslim-majority countries in response to Quran burnings across northern Europe this year.

The governments of Malaysia and Indonesia, among the largest Muslim-majority countries in the world, summoned European ambassadors and demanded criminal action after an Iraq-born protester tore pages from the Quran and burned the religious book outside a mosque in Stockholm in June.

Similar acts of Quran burning, some carried out by individuals with far-right links, were also conducted in other cities in Sweden, as well as in Denmark last month and in the Netherlands in January.

Longing for Jihad, Former Taliban Fighters Join Militants’ War in Pakistan

As a child studying in a madrasa in Afghanistan, Mohammad Khalid Tahir dreamed of waging jihad. By the time he was a teenager, he had joined the Taliban and celebrated when they seized power from the U.S.-backed government two years ago.

But the high from that victory did not last. Reassigned as a soldier in the capital, he frequently complained that he was bored and longed to return to his life’s purpose, according to his family.

So this spring, he did — but across the border in Pakistan.
