Mother of loser who joined ISIS murder cult and has spent about 30 minutes in Canada demands Ottawa free him from Syrian prison

Mother of Canadian detained in Syria accuses of Ottawa of shirking duty to help

OTTAWA – The mother of a Canadian man being held in northeastern Syria accuses the federal government of doing “precisely nothing” to secure his release.

Sally Lane is urging the Liberal government to send a delegate overseas to help free son Jack Letts and other Canadians detained in atrocious conditions.

Letts, who turned 27 this week, is one of several Canadian citizens among the many foreign nationals in Syrian camps run by Kurdish forces that reclaimed the war-torn region from the extremist Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

Letts has spent almost his entire life in the UK. They don’t want him either. The jerk’s parents were convicted under Brit terrorism laws of sending him money. He knew what he signed up for and is no babe in the woods.

Rex Murphy: Western premiers finally push back against Trudeau’s devastating agenda

It is not only Alberta Premier Danielle Smith who is taking a strikingly aggressive attitude towards the Trudeau government’s persistent hostility to the oil and gas industry — Scott Moe of Saskatchewan has also stepped into the ring. Both are plainly, without apology, saying “no” to net-zero, carbon taxes and hymns to windmills.

Murdoch tells Trump he will not back fresh White House bid – report

Rupert Murdoch has reportedly warned Donald Trump his media empire will not back any attempt to return to the White House, as former supporters turn to the youthful Florida governor Ron DeSantis.

After the Republican party’s disappointing performance in the US midterm elections, in particular the poor showing by candidates backed by Trump, Murdoch’s rightwing media empire appears to be seeking a clean break from the former president’s damaged reputation and perceived waning political power.

3 butchered bodies wash ashore in Acapulco, Mexico — as tourists lounge nearby

The butchered remains of three people washed ashore in Acapulco, Mexico, over the weekend — shocking beachgoers at the once-thriving holiday hotspot.

Gruesome photos show a body lying face-up on sun-soaked Condesa beach as tourists gawk and families wade in the water nearby.

I have no desire to visit Mexico for some reason.

Young people who detransition describe death threats, doxxing, intimidation, and being accused of ‘genocide’ from the ‘cult-like’ transgender community they turn their backs on

Young people who used drugs or surgery to change their gender but later regretted their procedures and sought to reverse them are warning of worsening abuse from the transgender community they’ve walked away from.

De-transitioners, as they are known, speak of online vitriol, doxxing, harassment and death threats after they made the tough decisions to exit what they describe as inward-looking and even ‘cult-like’ trans groups.

Tensions between trans activists and de-transitioners spiked this month at a meeting of Florida’s medical board, where sex change interventions for children were restricted. Insults were hurled, bomb threats were posted online.

Anti-racism attacks my American Dream

Why do Democrats condemn hardworking immigrants?

What was I — a lifelong Democrat — doing at an election watch party in rural Virginia, surrounded by Republicans? As Ron DeSantis, 800 miles away, filled a huge TV screen with a post-landslide victory speech, he provided part of the answer: “We chose education over indoctrination!” He got a raucous round of applause from the crowd at the Marriott Ranch, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Even I joined in.

Ted Cruz: Anyone involved in FBI investigation against Israel should be fired or impeached

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), member of the Senate Foreign Relations and Senate Judiciary Committees, responded to news that the Biden administration seeks to open an FBI investigation into the death of Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh.

Sen. Cruz said: “Joe Biden and his administration view Israel and Prime Minister-elect Benjamin Netanyahu as political enemies, and so they are responding to them the way they respond to all their political enemies: by unleashing the FBI. Our Israeli allies have, since the very beginning, cooperated closely with the United States in investigating this incident, and the State Department and Defense Departments had already drawn their conclusions.”

Blaming Trump

It is truly startling to review the extent to which conservative thinkers, writers, and commentators have joined in the vituperative Democrat and media campaign against their former president and benefactor. Blaming Trump causes evident glee in conservatism’s enemies, who have had Trump in their crosshairs for six years and more. Democrats report conservative disputes and backbiting with great satisfaction. We should not endorse such strategic machinations, which demoralize our side and give succor and aid to those who wish us permanently in the political wilderness — a wish, if things do not change, they may well realize.

The FBI and Disinformation

A worthy inquiry for a Republican House.

Now that Republicans appear poised to capture a House majority, what should they do with it? This column is largely in agreement with those urging the GOP to focus on thoughtful legislative proposals to advance individual liberty and fiscal sanity, rather than partisan investigations. But there is at least one issue at the heart of individual liberty that demands investigation, even if Democrats aren’t eager to participate. U.S. citizens will not continue to enjoy foundational constitutional liberties if the FBI is permitted to abuse its powers as it did in targeting the 2016 Trump campaign and may have done in assisting the 2020 Biden campaign. A responsible defense of our First Amendment freedoms requires a thorough inquiry to determine to what extent the FBI and other federal agencies lean on social media companies to suppress government-designated “disinformation.”

The Nineties: our last decade of freedom?

There is a telling moment in former GQ editor Dylan Jones’s insider account of the 1990s, Faster Than a Cannonball: 1995 and All That. Loaded journalist Martin Deeson has gatecrashed a Cannes Film Festival party with his photographer in tow. ‘I ordered a large scotch, two gin and tonics, two glasses of champagne and then asked Derek what he wanted’, recalls Deeson. The two journalists then staggered around rat-arsed chatting to various A-listers before bumping into Sixties style icon Terence Stamp: ‘After looking at me for a while Stamp said, “I just don’t think I want to talk to you”, and walked away.’

Europe faces ‘cancer epidemic’ after estimated 1m cases missed during Covid

Experts have warned that Europe faces a “cancer epidemic” unless urgent action is taken to boost treatment and research, after an estimated 1m diagnoses were missed during the pandemic.

The impact of Covid-19 and the focus on it has exposed “weaknesses” in cancer health systems and in the cancer research landscape across the continent, which, if not addressed as a matter of urgency, will set back cancer outcomes by almost a decade, leading healthcare and scientific experts say.

A report, European Groundshot – Addressing Europe’s Cancer Research Challenges: a Lancet Oncology Commission, brought together a wide range of patient, scientific, and healthcare experts with detailed knowledge of cancer across Europe.

Let’s imagine Europe with 30% of its citizens Muslim – it’s almost reality

Is Israel going to crack down on criminal Israeli Arab behavior? Europe has let itself be taken over. Will we learn?

“What will Denmark be like if a third are Muslims? Here is a vision of a dystopian future. We are at a crossroads. We can passively watch as voluntary apartheid spreads, or we can have an honest conversation about how society will change as Democrats and Islamists segregate from each other”.

A few lines are enough to understand how sensational the essay beginning with this paragraph and published by the main Danish newspaper, the liberal Politiken, is. Birgithe Kosovic, multi-award-winning writer, wrote it.

“If you understand the gravity of this, then you will be afraid for yourself when you say these things out loud. Immigration from non-Western countries is in the process of dividing the national community in the once homogeneous Western European countries”

The elite can celebrate “diversity” in restaurants, away from the real world. “But integration is a utopian dream. And it is not the state that leads to division and segregation, but the reluctant population,” she writes.

Donald Trump announces 2024 presidential run to make US ‘great and glorious again’

PALM BEACH, Fla. — Former President Donald Trump ended months of speculation and launched his bid to retake the White House in 2024 Tuesday, in an early attempt to clear the GOP primary field ahead of a potential rematch against Joe Biden.

“Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests and my fellow citizens, America’s comeback starts right now,” Trump, 76, told hundreds of cheering supporters who gathered in the ornate ballroom of his Mar-a-Lago resort for the official announcement.

Drug shortages worsen across Canada, extend beyond kids’ pain and fever meds

HALIFAX – Drugstore shortages in Canada are now extending beyond the children’s pain and fever medication aisle into other over-the-counter and prescription drugs as supply problems worsen across the country.

Hundreds of medications are either running low or out of stock completely, with some store shelves depleted of children’s allergy medication, adult cough and cold syrup, eye drops and even some oral antibiotics, industry experts say.

Tories Ask Feds to Identify 11 ChiCom Spy Candidates Who Allegedly Received Funding From Red China

Conservative MP Michael Chong is calling on the Liberal government to identify the 11 candidates who allegedly received funding from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the 2019 federal election.

“It is clear that Beijing interfered in last year’s 2021 election. Beijing’s ambassador to Canada commented critically and publicly during that election campaign and Beijing spread disinformation through proxies on Chinese-language social media platforms,” Chong, who is the shadow minister for foreign affairs, said in Parliament on Nov. 14.
