President Joe Biden met with Chinese communist leader Xi Jinping on Nov. 14 for the duo’s first face-to-face meeting of the Biden presidency. The two discussed the future of Taiwan, human rights in China, and global competition but appeared to reach no new ground on any of the issues in a meeting marred by Chinese communist violence.

“We had an open and candid conversation about our intentions and our priorities,” Biden said after the meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia.

The four University of Idaho students who were found dead in off-campus housing Sunday have been identified.

According to Moscow police, 20-year-old Ethan Chapin, 21-year-old Madison Mogen, 20-year-old Xana Kernodle and 21-year-old Kaylee Goncalves died in a homicide at their off-campus house on King Road.

Mogen, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Goncalves’ Facebook profiles show they were members of the Alpha Phi sorority on campus, while Ethan Chapin was in Sigma Chi.

Citing Russian Mercenaries, UK to Withdraw Troops From Mali

LONDON (AP) – Britain announced Monday it is withdrawing its peacekeepers from Mali, saying the West African country´s growing reliance on Russian mercenaries is undermining stability.

Armed Forces Minister James Heappey said the 300-strong British force that has been stationed in Mali since 2020 as part of a United Nations peacekeeping mission will leave earlier than planned. He did not give a timeline.

Children usually accumulate immunity over time to RSV, according to Dr. Melissa Langevin, associate medical director of emergency medicine at Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). However, at a CHEO medical briefing on Oct. 26, Langevin said that the last three years of COVID-19 and lockdowns meant “kids not interacting in the same way.”

Communist Chinese spy allegedly obtained Hydro-Québec trade secrets to benefit China: RCMP

The RCMP says it has arrested a Hydro-Québec employee for espionage following a months-long investigation.

In a news release, the RCMP alleges that 35-year-old Yuesheng Wang from Candiac, Que., obtained trade secrets to benefit China, “to the detriment of Canada’s economic interests.

He’ll be released and then sue for discrimination.

New documents released by the public inquiry investigating the government’s decision to invoke the Emergencies Act show the director of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service felt the “Freedom Convoy” did not pose a threat to the security of Canada.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act on Feb. 14, arguing its temporary and extraordinary powers were needed to end blockades in Ottawa and at border crossings.

Racists at Gettysburg College postpone event for people tired of ‘White cis men’

Gettysburg College has postponed a painting and writing event hosted by its Gender Sexuality and Resource Center for people who are “Tired of White cis men.”

The private Pennsylvania college offered the event as part of a peace and justice, or “P&J,” senior project but has since postponed it after it was shared online.

The event, originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 12, told people to “come paint and write about” how they are tired of straight, White men.
