EU Hits Musk With X Probe On Possible ‘Disinformation’

European Commissioner Thierry Breton announced an investigation into Elon Musk’s ‘free speech’ social media platform X for failure to combat ‘illicit content and disinformation.’ This is the first major probe the EU has opened up on X since last year’s passing of a new law called the “Digital Services Act.”

Bell Media, Angus Reid and other Canadian brands halt ads on X amid extremism concerns

Ads for several prominent Canadian companies and organizations have been appearing in the feeds of extremist accounts on X, prompting some of them to pause advertising on the social media platform following an investigation by CBC News.

They join a growing number of brands that are backing away from X, formerly known as Twitter, amid the unchecked rise in hateful content and owner Elon Musk’s seeming endorsement of antisemitic and other far-right conspiracy theories.

A review by CBC News of about two dozen accounts linked to white nationalists, white supremacists, misogynists and other extremists found ads by major brands such as Samsung Canada, CF Montréal and Pathways Alliance, an oil industry lobby group.

I wonder if Musk can sue CBC as he did Media Matters?

Texas AG Launches Fraud Investigation into Media Matters

On Monday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R-Texas) announced that the state would be launching a fraud probe into the far-left publication Media Matters.

As reported by the Daily Caller, the probe comes after Media Matters released a report on Thursday accusing the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, of putting anti-Semitic content next to advertisements. Although subsequent studies have proven this to be mostly false, multiple major corporations, including Apple, Disney, and IBM, have announced their plans to boycott advertising on the site.

Media Matters Picked On the Wrong Guy

We have long known that Media Matters for America is a sleazy outfit that exists in large part not to play in the marketplace of ideas but for the goal of driving conservatives out of that marketplace. That’s been its modus operandi in the past, in agitating for advertiser boycotts of figures such as Rush Limbaugh and Tucker Carlson, whom Media Matters wants off the airwaves. Now, they’ve come after Elon Musk over the content-moderation policies of X (formerly Twitter). They appear to have picked on the wrong guy.

Media Matters And The Fake News Era Go To Court: Taibbi

On Tuesday, X/Twitter filed a lawsuit against Media Matters for America (MMfA), the media arm of political smear artist David Brock.

Brock made his living in the nineties attacking Democrats, pushing the Paula Jones story and writing The Seduction of Hillary Rodham, until announcing a religious conversion via his 1997 Esquire piece “Confessions of a Right-Wing Hitman” and moving to team blue to head up orgs like Media Matters and Correct the Record. Brock is a unique figure in our history, as perhaps no American has ever turned his face so completely inside out in public.

Should be an interesting trial.

Elon Musk’s Twitter/X sues over claims ads appear next to Nazi posts

Twitter/X, the social media platform owned by Elon Musk, has sued a liberal media organisation, alleging defamation over claims that advertising for major brands had appeared on the site next to posts promoting Nazism.

X has faced a backlash after Media Matters for America, an organisation set up to counter what it claims is a right-wing bias in the media, said that it had found adverts for IBM, Apple and others placed alongside content promoting Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party.

Twitter Canada Hasn’t Changed A Bit

‘Free speech absolutist’ Elon Musk ‘in early talks’ to open Tesla factory in Saudi Arabia – where man was sentenced to death last month for tweeting negatively about regime

Self-proclaimed ‘free speech absolutist’ Elon Musk is in talks to open a Tesla factory in Saudi Arabia – which is still killing citizens for negative tweets about the Kingdom.

A deal with the Saudis could help Musk achieve his ambitious goal of selling 20 million vehicles a year by 2030 – up from just 1.3 million sold in 2022.

The move is part of an ambitious push by the kingdom to diversify its economy away from oil and secure metals needed to make electric cars.

Elon vs The ADL: Musk Blames Jews for a Boycott Funded by a Non-Jewish Tech Billionaire

The ADL is a garbage leftist organization. It was never good for anything but under its current head, Jonathan Greenblatt, it’s become a generic woke group dedicated to intersectionality. I have spent over a decade exposing the ADL for what it is including, last week, for its decision to spend the anniversary of the Crown Heights Pogrom together with Al Sharpton in Washington D.C.

Last year, Musk met with a coalition of leftist groups, Color of Change (formerly founded by Van Jones) , the NAACP and the ADL and a number of others that were organizing boycotts of Twitter over ‘hate speech’.

Daniel Greenfield of Frontpage shines a light on Elon Musk  v. The ADL.

The ADL is guilty of a lot of despicable behavior but according to Greenfield is not the prime mover in the Twitter-X Ad boycott.

I do hope that Elon follows through on his threatened ADL document dump. I wish he would force the Canadian operation to come clean as well.

Elon Musk reveals Twitter takeover driven by hatred of ‘woke mind virus that infected trans daughter’

Elon Musk was driven to take over Twitter after fearing his transgender daughter had been infected with a “woke mind virus” incubated on the social media platform.

Mr Musk had initially rushed to embrace the news when Jenna, formally known as Xavier, transitioned at age 16.

But when she later cut him out of her life entirely, he knew he had a fight on his hands, a battle which would eventually culminate in the world’s richest man buying Twitter for $44 billion.

Elon is offering us a raw deal with X

He and his team have taken to poetry to convince us that a little censorship really isn’t so bad

Elon Musk, the owner of X — once known as Twitter, may she rest in peace — is making Americans an offer that they must refuse. When he purchased the social media platform last year for a whopping $44 billion, he led us to believe he was doing it in order to save free speech, an ideal in regard to which he said was an absolutist. Today, what he is actually offering instead is a censorship regime slightly more friendly to the right than his predecessor. It’s a recipe for disaster.
