When a young anthropologist claimed in late May 2021 that she had discovered 215 unmarked graves near the Kamloops Residential School in British Columbia, a wave of horror swept across Canada.
Local First Nations chief Roseanne Casimir said that her community had “knowledge” that Indigenous children who had died at the school were secretly buried in the nearby orchard. In the late 1990s a child’s rib was apparently found by a tourist in the area, and a tooth in a subsequent dig in the early 2000s.

Hundreds of B.C. truckers took to the road Sunday kicking off what they called a “freedom convoy” to Ottawa in protest of the federal government’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for cross-border truckers.
Scores of big rigs gathered in pre-dawn fog in Delta before rolling out, and will be joined by groups from Vancouver Island and communities in the B.C. Interior as they make their way east.

On 15 January, Malik Faisal Akram, a 44-year-old British Pakistani Muslim from Blackburn in north-west England, took four people hostage at a synagogue in Colleyville, Texas. In return for their release, he called on the US authorities to free Islamist terrorist Aafia Siddiqui from nearby Fort Worth prison. In a phone call during the siege to his brother, he said that ‘maybe [the authorities will] have compassion for fucking Jews’. An FBI hostage rescue team eventually entered the synagogue and shot Akram dead.
It was only last year that Muslim hatred for Jews and Israel was recognized in Canada. I’m only half kidding about that.

People in Ontario haven’t repeatedly endured some of the world’s most severe and longest pandemic lockdowns because of the unvaccinated.
As of Saturday, 82.16% of the eligible population in Ontario had been fully vaccinated, slightly higher than the national average of 81.86%, and Canadians are among the most vaccinated people in the world.
The lockdowns keep happening because of the almost non-existent surge capacity of Ontario hospitals, a problem that has been known about for decades and which governments of all political stripes ignored.

Éric Zemmour, a Jewish candidate for the French presidency, does not comment. He simply states in an interview: “sadly banal scenes”.
New NATO Strategy Contends with ‘Rise of China’ for First Time
The next strategic guidance published by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will aim to contend with expanding Chinese influence abroad. It will be the first time that the alliance makes China a strategic priority. Experts say that firm, principled engagement will be necessary.
The 2022 Strategic Concept will only be the fourth unclassified strategy released by NATO. The last was released in 2010. It is set to be adopted in June of this year at the Madrid Summit.
Canada was left out of AUKUS, likely because under the Liberal Party we are considered a stooge of Communist China. NATO has members whose self-interest will trump treaty obligations, look no further than Germany and Canada declining to send arms to the Ukraine as precedence. Count on Germany and Canada to line up with NATO’s China appeasers.
Syrian Kurdish forces backed by US troops fight to regain control of ISIS prison
Fighting at a prison in the northern Syrian city of al-Hasaka entered a fourth day on Sunday as the Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continued to battle fighters from the extremist “Islamic State” (IS) group after a breakout at the facility.
The Kurdish forces said the militants attacked the prison once more on Sunday and tried to break the security cordon around it. In a statement, the SDF said the attack had been repelled and the IS fighters driven back into a residential area. Another attack by IS militants coming from outside the city was also thwarted, a spokesman said.

The allegations against Bristol University emerged as PhD student Raquel Rosario-Sanchez prepared for an imminent sex discrimination and negligence case against the institution.
She claims its bosses failed to tackle transgender activists who subjected her to a two-year hate campaign for attending feminist meetings that opposed allowing men who identify as women into female-only spaces such as toilets and domestic violence refuges.

In the streets of Lviv, in the country’s west, people are going about their daily business, even as a standoff between Vladimir Putin’s Russia and western allies threatens to bring war to their doorstep, says Christine Eliashevsky.
“Many Ukrainians are probably anxious, but they will not admit it, because they have been through so many ups and downs in 30 years of independence,” Eliashevsky told the Star from her home in Lviv.

Joly has ‘open invitation’ to vacation in Moscow: ambassador
Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly has an “open invitation” to visit Moscow to meet with Russian officials, an offer first extended in December, says Ambassador to Canada Oleg Stepanov.
In an interview on CTV’s Question Period airing Sunday, Stepanov said the Russian government would welcome the meeting.
“Your excellency Joly had the chance to chat with [Foreign] Minister [Sergei] Lavrov on the margins of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe meeting last December in Stockholm and expressed her interest to come to Moscow for consultations at some point and my minister extended the official invitation,” he said.
