How regulatory agencies, not the courts, are imposing COVID-19 vaccine mandates

The COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly reshaped how we perceive ourselves and the social world around us. It has more recently transformed the business of governance in western democracies like Canada.

The crisis has modified how the law is applied to society and redefined who decides the exceptions to the rules that our society must now adhere to.

The decisions of medical health-care professionals like doctors and nurse practitioners are now far more legally and politically significant than before, since they’re determining who is exempt from following new vaccination laws and mandates.

Who do Albertans think they are?

When asked which values animate provincial politics, most Albertans continue to describe the dominance of wild west notions, like populism, western alienation, settler colonialism, frontier masculinity, bootstrap individualism, and the primacy of prosperity doctrine (hard work produces wealth).

This becomes clearest when we ask our focus group participants to draw an Albertan who has the most influence over politics in this province. The resulting caricatures most often depict roughnecks, cowboys and farmers. In short, Albertans’ perception of the typical Albertan remains static, gendered, racialized, and rooted in a “wild west” past.

How I despise the CBC.

Mutiny, A Dem Coup, and TREASON

The revelations surrounding the actions of Joint-Chiefs Chairman, General Mark Milley are highly disturbing and describe the circumstances around which control of the United States Military was usurped from the rightfully elected President, still in office to a Senior Military Officer under advice from that President’s vehement political opponents. One would expect this type of narrative from a failed, third-world state, but no, it happened right here, in the most powerful nation in the history of mankind, with a massive nuclear arsenal in play and the Chain of command compromised.

The Devil Didn’t Make ’Em Do It, and Neither Did the Pandemic

A specter is haunting discussions of the economy — the specter of Covid agency. Almost from the very moment unprecedented government actions were announced worldwide to stop the spread of Covid-19, people became accustomed to referring to the virus as a sentient being with the ability to bend people to his will.

Attack On Colonialism A Disguised Assault Upon “Old Stock” Canadians

“Decolonization means taking the time to understand how centuries of colonization, locally and globally, have violated so much of what is sacred to so many.”

Is Ontario’s COVID response heading in the right direction?

While public health measures such as vaccine passports and mandatory masks remain in place for the next few months, the government has set a timeline for when the province can fully return to normal.

“A Canadian Is A Canadian Is A Canadian,” Unless The ‘Wrong People’ Need EI, Apparently

How rapidly we have watched our leaders flip towards a disturbing enjoyment of demonizing and dividing.

CDC Director: Unvaccinated Police, Government Workers To Be Sent For “Education And Counseling”

Appearing on Fox News Sunday, the CDC Director Rochelle Walensky declared that the Biden regime is planning to provide vaccine hesitant police and other government workers with “education and counseling” to make them “comfortable” about taking the shots.

Rage over reason: Biden and the Left betray Thomas Jefferson

There was an obvious and apparent danger that many of us were delicately attempting to point out when the Black Lives Matter crusade turned its anger towards stone monuments two summers ago. When you start yanking down statues of individuals who have made positive contributions to society because it was discovered they were imperfect, where exactly does it stop?

Columbia Law Professor Explains Why Public Schools Are Tearing America Apart

Smearing parents fed up with their kids’ schools as “domestic terrorists” seems to be a wild, incendiary charge with little basis in reality. Yet it’s the basis on which the U.S. attorney general has convened an FBI task force to surveil and intimidate parents who object to what their children are being taught, and how they are being treated, with public tax dollars. The organization that colluded with the Justice Department to create the pretext for chilling voters’ speech has backed down, but the FBI threat remains.

The ACLU is now siding with the censors

Its advocacy of trans rights has come at the cost of free speech.

Asserting their First Amendment rights against compelled speech, elementary-school teachers in Loudoun County, Virginia, are challenging a school-board rule requiring them to address transgender and ‘gender expansive’ students by their preferred pronouns. The teachers claim that the pronouns convey messages about transgenderism that violate their religious beliefs as well as their understanding of biology. As a compromise, in an effort to balance their speech rights with students’ interests in being recognised, the teachers have offered to address the students only by their names, eschewing the use of any offending pronouns. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has sided against them.

Why the Great Power Governments Are Cracking Down on Big Tech

All over the world, great power governments are struggling with their respective tech giants for control of the social media platforms. China’s ongoing crackdown on big tech is the most conspicuous. “Take Jack Ma, founder of the e-commerce giant Alibaba.” The Party called the billionaire in, told him his forthcoming IPO was illegal, and served notice that any new initiatives would need the regulators’ approval. Russia’s not far behind. Moscow sees Google, Apple, Facebook, Twitter, and Amazon as a threat and wants them replaced by “sufficiently pliable domestic entities — such as Russia’s large tech conglomerates like Yandex, VK, and Sber.”

Inflating Grades For Social Justice

At a party over the weekend I was introduced to a college professor, and fell into conversation with him about teaching and Covid. Then I asked about how wokeness affects his teaching. I had no idea of the man’s politics, but I would bet the farm that he is a liberal, given that his academic field skews heavily to the left.

He told me that there is a lot of stress on professors at his university regarding grading students of color. He said everyone is afraid of being accused of racism if a black student doesn’t like his grade. The anxiety around this is deep, he said.

John Durham’s Salad Shooter

Knowingingly concocting a fake narrative to fool the FBI and CIA is going to affect many Hillary Clinton campaign players, special counsel John Durham has let it be known in discovery.

This is the sixth in a series of articles analyzing the federal grand jury indictment charging lawyer Michael Sussmann with making a materially false statement to the FBI’s General Counsel. The indictment spelled out Sussmann’s involvement in a thus-far uncharged conspiracy to create a false narrative that was calculated to demonstrate a secret channel of internet communications between the Trump Organization and the Russian Alfa-Bank.

Recently Sussmann’s lawyers moved for a bill of particulars alleging that the indictment lacks sufficient detail and clarity for their client to prepare his defense.

Dr. Dog Torturer – Fauci funds barbaric torture of beagles in a Tunisian lab.

“Our investigators show that Fauci’s NIH division shipped part of a $375,800 grant to a lab in Tunisia to drug beagles and lock their heads in mesh cages filled with hungry sand flies so that the insects could eat them alive,” the non-profit White Coat Waste project told reporters. “They also locked beagles alone in cages in the desert overnight for nine consecutive nights to use them as bait to attract infectious sand flies,” all to test an “experimental drug.”

Seattle’s police challenges are harbingers for lawlessness that may take a generation to repair

While the ticking of the clock exposes problems for major U.S. cities, the calendar also remains far from friendly to the safety of their citizens and businesses.  As unprecedented numbers of police officers opt to resign or retire — or even face termination — protesting working conditions and the vaccine mandate, many of America’s cities race toward lawlessness.

A recent conversation with a retired Seattle police officer paints a grim picture.  According to the nearly thirty-year law enforcement veteran, the mismanagement of Seattle’s police force could take a generation to repair.

Is Dave Chappelle ‘using white privilege’?

The woke critiques of the controversial comic are becoming increasingly absurd.

The furore over Dave Chappelle’s latest comedy special for Netflix, The Closer, rages on and on. The essence of the problem is that a lot of trans activists believe that Chappelle crosses a line in some of his jokes about trans people. They want Netflix to take the special off its platform. So far, their entreaties have not been yielded to.
