Trump advisers and Ukrainian officials will meet for third day amid progress on peace plan

Donald Trump’s advisers and Ukrainian officials said Friday they’ll meet for a third day of talks after making progress on creating a security framework for postwar Ukraine and are urging Russia to commit to peace.

The officials, who met for a second day in Florida on Friday, issued a joint statement that offered broad brushstrokes about the progress they say that’s been made as Trump pushes Kyiv and Moscow to agree to a US-mediated proposal to end nearly four years of war.

“Both parties agreed that real progress toward any agreement depends on Russia’s readiness to show serious commitment to long-term peace, including steps toward de-escalation and cessation of killings,” the statement said. “Parties also separately reviewed the future prosperity agenda which aims to support Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction, joint US–Ukraine economic initiatives, and long-term recovery projects.”

Surrender Monkey News: Macron reportedly warned Zelenskyy US may ‘betray Ukraine on territory’

Emmanuel Macron has reportedly warned Volodymyr Zelenskyy that “there is a chance that the US will betray Ukraine on territory, without clarity on security guarantees”, the German magazine Der Spiegel reported, quoting a leaked note from a recent call with several European leaders.

Critics question Saab’s offer to bring 10,000 aerospace jobs to Canada

OTTAWA – Critics are questioning the solidity of Saab’s pitch to deliver 10,000 jobs in Canada if it decides to set up shop here to assemble Gripen fighter jets.

The Swedish company has said little about how it came to that number, making it hard to evaluate the offer.

Saab spokesperson Jenny Gerdes said the estimate reflects the “scale of work” the company anticipates bringing to the country, “should the Gripen be selected.”

“The figure is based on projected global demand for Gripen and the corresponding production, sustainment and R&D activities Canada would undertake,” Gerdes said in an email.

DC pipe bomb suspect admits to planting devices outside DNC, RNC: sources

WASHINGTON — The Virginia man charged with planting pipe bombs at the headquarters of the Democratic and Republican National Committees on the eve of the Capitol riot confessed to the crime on Thursday afternoon, sources tell The Post.

Brian Cole Jr., 30, will make an initial appearance in DC federal court Friday afternoon to be formally arraigned on charges of transporting explosives across state lines with intent to kill, injure and cause damage and attempted malicious destruction by means of explosive materials.

Alleged Pipe Bomber’s Family Sued Trump DHS Over Illegal Immigration, Asked Biden DOJ To Address Racism

Brian Cole, Jr. worked for a bail bonds company run by his father that worked to free illegal immigrants from ICE facilities and sued the Trump administration’s Department of Homeland Security.

Weeks before 30-year-old Cole Jr. allegedly planted pipe bombs at the headquarters of the Democrat and Republican parties on January 5, 2021, a court ruled against the company in its lawsuit attacking the Trump administration on immigration issues, The Daily Wire has learned. An FBI affidavit in the case notes that the suspect works for a bail bond company and lives with his mother.

Canadians support sending troops to Poland if Russia invades: poll

Two thirds of Canadians support sending our troops to countries such as Poland if Russia invades, according to a new Postmedia-Leger poll.

“You’d like to think that this is really kind of a super hypothetical pie-in-the-sky kind of question. But unfortunately, crazy things are happening all around the world,” Andrew Enns, Leger’s executive vice-president for Central Canada, said Thursday.

Normal Americans Are The Ones Who Pay The Price For Biden’s Disastrous Immigration Policies

Americans are paying dearly for the Biden administration’s open-border policies that indiscriminately allowed rapists, murderers, and terrorists to walk right in. We’re paying the bill daily. Just ask the families of the two National Guard members that federal officials say were shot by an Afghan national in an ambush-style attack while they were helping protect the nation’s capital.

What we risk our toddlers to – day orphanages staffed by paedophiles

THE horrific case of Vincent Chan, the north London nursery worker who this week admitted sexually abusing toddlers and hoarding 25,000 indecent images, has rightly shaken the country.

Chan was not a rogue babysitter or an unregulated childminder. He worked at a respected £2,000-a-month nursery. He passed his enhanced vetting. He was subject to all the ‘industry-leading’ safeguarding checks we trust to keep children safe. And yet for years he abused children in a setting parents had every reason to believe was secure.

‘Our superiors … want to get rid of him’: Digital messages reportedly allege Chinese police targeted dissident who died suspiciously near Vancouver

OTTAWA — Radio-Canada, drawing on digital records first disclosed to Australian media in 2024 by an alleged Chinese spy, has reported new evidence suggesting that a Chinese dissident who died in a mysterious kayaking accident near Vancouver was being targeted for elimination by Chinese secret police and agents embedded in a Chinese conglomerate that the U.S. Treasury now accuses of running a multibillion-dollar organised-crime, money-laundering and modern-slavery empire out of Cambodia.

BBC Slammed for Inviting Illegal Migrants to its Question Time Immigration Special

Fresh from a steaming row over its alleged Left-liberal bias, the BBC is under fire from Reform UK for inviting two small boat migrants into the audience of last night’s “immigration special” on Question Time. The Mail has the story.

Reform UK opened a new front in its row with the BBC after the broadcaster invited illegal boat migrants on to its Question Time programme.

Zia Yusuf, the party’s head of policy, appeared on the immigration special to debate the issue but was questioned by a man who had arrived in the UK illegally.

He said that the corporation had invited two former asylum seekers to appear and he “could not believe” what he was seeing.

Sounds like a Canadian media stunt.

4 Reasons Our Society is Collapsing – Can we change?

A recent article describes the USA as being in a moral and philosophical freefall. The writer concludes with the grim summary statement “We are well along the way to becoming the next failed society.” The author lists five failures in various sectors of our culture:  indebtedness, poor education, shift away from being a manufacturing economy, cultural balkanization, and lack of common or shared goals. He also expresses a profound and needed concern about the indifference to a conscious preference for certain philosophers who once were taught and/or more revered than they are today – men like Thomas Aquinas, John Locke, and Immanuel Kant.

Donald Trump – and American democracy – is getting exponentially worse

I wish I could say I told you so. A point I have tried to make over the last year or so is that Donald Trump can only get worse: that however corrupt or incompetent or dictatorial or treasonous or insane he may appear at any given moment, it will inevitably come to be seen as a relative golden age beside what is to come.

There is a reason for this. It is that he can only stir the media and establishment outrage on which both he and his supporters thrive if he behaves even worse than we are accustomed to him behaving. It is not enough to say or do some appalling thing, even if it would have ended the career of any previous politician. He does that, quite literally, several times a day. Rather, he must exceed expectations of his grotesquerie. His critics’ dilemma – how to sustain outrage in the face of the constant, numbing, normalizing stream of objectively outrageous conduct – is also, in a way, his.

Met Police’s Flying Squad ‘to have their guns taken away in money-saving move’

The Metropolitan Police’s violent crime tackling Flying Squad are reportedly having their guns taken away in a money-saving move for the force.

Detectives from the unit are said to be ‘devastated’ by the decision – having battled for the last year to keep the weapons.

Barry Phillips, a member of the Flying Squad Association of past and present officers, said armed robbers ‘will be laughing their socks off’ at the thought of unarmed officers trying to stop them.

Huh?
