Look at these simpletons, doddering around waving their budget report cards. They assert that Prime Minister Mark Carney did not deliver on his promise of transformational change, of generational investment. They huff that Mr. Carney has crafted a fairly typical Liberal big-spending budget, with the exception of actual investment in Canada’s military (though the budget is light on details) and plans to reduce the size of the public service by 40,000 jobs by 2028-29.
Democrats in US Congress ask Andrew to appear for questioning over Epstein links

Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has been asked by Democrats in US Congress to answer questions as part of its investigation into paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Members of the House Oversight Committee wrote to Andrew in a letter addressed to Royal Lodge, Windsor Great Park, which the former prince has agreed to leave.
The committee does not have the power to compel Andrew to appear in front of them, but said it intends to ask questions related to information on Epstein’s network and associates based on the pair’s “longstanding” friendship.
Mark Carney aiming to repeat Justin Trudeau’s biggest mistakes

On Nov. 4, Prime Minister Mark Carney’s government tabled its first budget since taking office in the spring. Despite the new face at the helm, Carney’s budget unfortunately relies on the same failed economic strategy the Justin Trudeau government pursued for a decade.
For starters, Carney’s economic plan calls for more government involvement in the economy. Ottawa will become a home developer, pick winners and losers from a bevy of major national energy project proposals, implement a new “climate” strategy and substantially increase federal spending and borrowing.
Man who threw sandwich at US federal agent found not guilty of assault

A former Department of Justice employee who threw a sandwich at a federal agent during Donald Trump’s law enforcement surge in Washington DC was found not guilty of assault by a DC jury on Thursday in the latest legal rebuke of the federal intervention.
Sean Charles Dunn, a former justice department paralegal, became a symbol of the resistance to Trump’s occupation in the nation’s capital when video of him, clad in a pink polo shirt and shorts, throwing a sandwich at a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agent, wearing a bulletproof vest, went viral.

Famed Florentine diamond surfaces in Canada after century-long disappearance

At the height of the Battle of Britain, when the UK government needed a secret location to store 186,332 gold bars, it turned to Canada.
Shipped across the Atlantic and stored beneath a hastily constructed vault in Montreal, Operation Fish became known both for the vast amounts of gold involved – and the immense secrecy that followed.
The lesson: Canada and its banks can keep secrets.

Ukraine Accused of Street Conscriptions as Deaths, Ethnic Tensions Rise

There is no shortage of videos on social media apparently showing men being taken off the streets of Ukraine—some while walking their dog, or even out with their wife and children—to be forcibly conscripted into the military.
Reports are even making it into Western mainstream media publications, something that may force European leaders to take notice.

Crown Files Appeal Against Sentencing, Acquittals of Freedom Convoy Organizers Lich and Barber

The Crown has filed appeals against the sentencing and acquittals of intimidation charges for Freedom Convoy organizers Tamara Lich and Chris Barber.
The Crown is seeking to replace Barber’s 18-month conditional sentence with a harsher penalty, and has asked the Court of Appeal to either enter a conviction on the intimidation charge or order a new trial on that count, according to a release from the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF).
Germany cracks down on ‘TikTok Islamism’

The German Interior Ministry on Wednesday banned the group “Muslim Interaktiv,” which calls for a worldwide caliphate and rejects the democratic order enshrined in Germany’s constitution, the Basic Law.
A ministry press release described the association “Muslim Interaktiv” as “opposed to the constitutional order and the idea of international understanding,” adding: “The association will be dissolved. The assets of Muslim Interaktiv will be confiscated.”
The association views the Muslim community in Germany as a minority that is discriminated against and ostracized from society. Founded in 2020, authorities believe the group is affiliated with the Hizb ut-Tahrir (HuT) organization, which was banned in 2003 after promoting violence and the killing of Jewish people.
