Opposition parties can’t afford to call Liberals’ bluff on budget vote, say pollsters

Whether or not the Liberals are bluffing when expressing doubts that next week’s federal budget will pass, no opposition party can risk trying to bring down the government, according to pollsters. But to maintain power, the Grits need to convince voters they’ve done everything to ensure the budget succeeds.

“If the Liberals are confident that walking away from the table will get them a better deal on the other end, and more power [in Parliament], then they’re going to do that,” said Abacus Data CEO David Coletto, adding that the party itself stands to gain the most from an election.

LILLEY: Yelling, F-bombs, threats and the breakdown of Canada-U.S. relations

Carney don’t care, he’s gonna eat!

On Monday night, as baseball fans turned their attention to the World Series, a gathering at the National Gallery in Ottawa that was supposed to celebrate the cross-border relationship turned sour.

Pete Hoekstra, Donald Trump’s ambassador to Canada, was seen tearing a strip off David Paterson, Ontario’s representative in Washington. It’s been described by those who witnessed it as a heated exchange, a one-way conversation, and yelling, with plenty of F-bombs.

Two men in New York convicted in ISIS financing scheme that includes Canadian connection

Two men in New York have been convicted in a financing scheme in support of the Islamic State (ISIS), a designated terrorist organization, a case which also has a Canadian connection.

Abdullah At Taqi, 26, of Queens was convicted by a jury in Brooklyn, New York, last Friday of conspiring and attempting to provide material support to ISIS, as well as conspiring to launder money. His co-defendant, Mohamad David Hashimi, had previously pleaded guilty to all counts of the indictment.

Christian Leaders Ignore Muslim Genocide Of Nigerian Christians

St. Francis Catholic Church Nigeria

For years, Christians have been systemically persecuted in Nigeria, with Muslim terrorist groups and militias periodically raiding, raping, murdering, and enslaving Christian civilians in the northern part of the country.

According to a recent article in Catholic Vote, “[F]rom 2019 to 2023, a total of 55,910 people were killed,” and “21,621 people were abducted.” During this four-year timespan, Nigeria “saw an average of eight attacks per day involving killings and/or abductions.” This has continued to this day, with “more than 7,000 Christians killed in Nigeria during the first 220 days of 2025.”

The left’s embrace of Islam and socialism

How much farther left will the Democrats go? They’re increasingly aligning themselves with ideologies historically associated with violence and oppression: Islam and socialism or communism. Their incorporation of Marxist thought and accommodation of the influences of radical Islam threaten the American values of individual liberty, free enterprise, and national security.

Communist leaders slaughtered over 100 million people in the 20th century through regimes like the Soviet Union, Maoist China, and North Vietnam. When Democrats advocate for socialism, wealth redistribution, and expanded government control, they echo the ideologies of those regimes. Figures like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez openly identify as “democratic socialists,” promoting policies such as Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, and student debt forgiveness. Conservatives view these as steps toward a command economy, eroding capitalism. The Democrat (they’re not democratic) party’s 2020 platform emphasized “economic justice” and taxing the wealthy, which conservatives liken to Marxist class warfare.

‘There’s no industry without U.S. access’: struggling auto sector renews call for trade deal amid latest tariff woes

The Canadian auto industry says a new deal with the United States is needed for its survival, and is urging the government to fully repeal its electric vehicle sales mandate as it braces under threats of an additional 10-per-cent tariff amid souring trade bilateral negotiations.

“Fighting protectionism with protectionism doesn’t work,” Brian Kingston, the head of the Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers’ Association, told the House’s Industry and Technology Committee at an Oct. 27 meeting. “We are the smaller partner, and we have to work in a new reality.”

“In Canada, you can retaliate. You won’t win that battle. We’ve learned that lesson. So, your second-best option is to make Canada ultra-competitive.”

Hate and filth that the MSM airbrushed out of anti-Trump marches

DON’T get me wrong: I’m painfully aware of how the left-leaning legacy media both here in America and in my home country of Britain are more than happy to tell lies when it serves their agenda. To say their mendacious flights of fancy would have made Hitler’s propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels green with envy is, I confess, shameless hyperbole. But think about the thousands who march through London calling for the destruction of Israel and, dare I be so bold, the elimination of the Jewish people – after all, what else can they mean when they chant ‘Death, Death, to the IDF’ or ‘Globalise the Intifada’? – and the comparison seems a little less excessive.

Often overlooked, however, is the tendency of the mainstream media (MSM) to lie by omission.

Poilievre says Carney ‘approved’ Ontario’s anti-tariff ad that Trump said ended trade talks

OTTAWA — Opposition Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre said on Tuesday that Prime Minister Mark Carney “approved” Ontario’s anti-tariff ads, which U.S. President Donald Trump blamed as the reason for ending trade talks with Canada.

It came the day after Ontario Premier Doug Ford told reporters that Carney and his chief of staff, Marc-Andre Blanchard, were shown the ads before they aired.

William ‘threatened to strip Eugenie and Beatrice of their titles unless Andrew and Fergie left Royal Lodge’

Prince William threatened to remove the titles of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie unless they pressured their disgraced father to move out of Royal Lodge, it has been claimed.

Emily Maitlis, the broadcaster who grilled Prince Andrew in his infamous Newsnight interview in 2019, claimed the Prince of Wales may have met with the princesses to give them the ultimatum last week.

It comes after their parents, Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, are understood to have finally agreed to move out of Royal Lodge, the mansion they have shared since 2008, amid scrutiny over their ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Over 100,000 ‘Asylum Seekers’ in Germany Were Already Safe in Greece

Muslims in Germany: Caliphate is the solution

Asylum seekers are presumably safe once upon their arrival in Greece. Yet thousands upon thousands are continuing their journeys to Germany anyway.

New data—revealed as part of a response to a parliamentary question from the Green Party—show that well over 100,000 migrants with protection status recognised in Greece have reapplied for asylum in Germany.

SLOBODIAN: When ostriches and whales die, so does Canada

The ramifications of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) invading Universal Ostrich Farms in Edgewood, BC, to seize its herd run far deeper than government goons hellbent on culling healthy ostriches.

The planned slaughter of 300-330 birds asymptomatic of avian flu (H5N1) — no matter how CFIA tries to justify it while rejecting other options — is distressing, unethical, cruel, and, experts say, unnecessary.
