Problems in Canada’s Constitution Lead to Land Grab for Cowichan Tribes

When it was proposed that property rights be enshrined in the Constitution, the New Democratic Party (NDP), Canada’s socialist party, came out adamantly opposed to it, and so this never happened.

When I returned to Canada in 1981, after having lived in the United States for 15 years, then-Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau was in the process of what was called “repatriating” the Canadian Constitution. I remember being appalled by the process and the final result. To be clear, a good argument could be made for doing what the PM was doing. At the time Canada already had a constitution, it was called the British North America Act of 1867, but it was an act passed by the British Parliament when granting Canada independence and as such could only be amended by said Parliament. Since it stemmed from the constitutional tradition of England, the British North America Act was not that bad for what it was, but the idea of devising a made-in-Canada constitution had a lot of merit both because it would give more independence to the country and also provide an opportunity for Canada to craft a formal Bill of Rights that could be referenced moving forward. But, as ever, the devil was in the details and on this score the process and the result were seriously flawed.

Met Police launches massive new grooming gangs inquiry with 9,000 cases probed again after criticism of Sadiq Khan and UK’s biggest force

Mark Rowley is a dick

The Met Police is reviewing 9,000 cases in a massive new grooming gangs probe amid criticism of Sadiq Khan’s claims that none operated in the capital.

The Mayor of London has repeatedly denied that his city was blighted by the kinds of child abuse seen in towns such as Rochdale and Rotherham.

However, this week reports emerged from Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) of young girls being raped.

An evil farce …

Enoch Powell understated Britain’s problems

Sectarianism is even worse than he predicted

The great John O’Sullivan has a story about Enoch Powell which he keeps promising to put into print. Since he still hasn’t done so, I will risk repeating it here. It occurred during a conversation some years after the Rivers of Blood speech. A group of conservatives were talking, and Powell was among them. At some point one of those present referred to the 1968 speech and asked Powell: “Why did you do it?”

The gathering Canadian political storm

Why our ruling classes apologize for everything but the slaughter of innocents — and how “sorry” became a weapon for moral surrender.

It is a measure of the world’s inverted values that the entire Western world will take the knee for a homicidal thug and that, bar a few brave souls, the slaughter of innocents today will trigger a deafening silence amongst our erudite elites, governing classes, and leading artistic figures.

Doug Ford, Ontario’s Albatross

Jeep manufacturer Stellantis announced on October 14 that it is moving production to Illinois from its Brampton, Ontario, plant, leaving 3,000 workers wondering where dinner is coming from. Blond bombshell Federal Industry Minister Mélanie Joly has threatened to sue the company, which no doubt has company execs driving off the road and hiding in the bush. Not to be outdone, GM is moving its Ingersoll plant to the U.S., leaving 1,200 workers unemployed. As Spencer Gatten reports, altogether something in the vicinity of 6,000 jobs have been lost in the last week, not counting the indirect and ancillary jobs that will also disappear.

‘See You in 4 Years’: Trump Drives Canadians Away From Western New York

It’s been a strange fall in two of New York State’s westernmost counties, Niagara and Erie, on the Canadian border.

Far fewer Canadians are crossing into New York to enjoy the changing foliage and the region’s plentiful vineyards and orchards.

This is not entirely unexpected: Canadians have been scarce at cultural attractions, sporting events and shopping malls in the area since President Trump threatened Canada with tariffs two weeks into his second administration (following through on those threats March 4), and spoke of adding the country as the 51st state.

Trump Announces 10% Tariff Increase on Canada Over Doug Ford’s Reagan Ad

President Trump said on Saturday that he would increase tariffs on Canadian goods by 10 percent to punish America’s second-largest trading partner over an ad, paid for by the province of Ontario, that used original audio of Ronald Reagan denouncing tariffs.

Mr. Trump, who suspended monthslong talks with Canada over reducing the tariffs on Thursday night because of the ad, has insisted the ad is “fraudulent” after the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute said it had made “selective” use of the five-minute 1987 original Reagan address.

Trudeau Liberals Opened The Door To Mexican Cartels With Visa Removal

In December 2016, despite intelligence warnings that lifting visas would “facilitate travel to Canada by Mexicans with criminal records,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ended the visa requirement for Mexican visitors.

They would include “drug smugglers, human smugglers, recruiters, money launderers and foot soldiers,” the Canada Border Services Agency’s Intelligence Section wrote in a report dated April 2016, two months before Trudeau announced the visa exemption.

The United Nations Has Become the Dictators’ Club: Chooses Tyrants Over the Oppressed

The United Nations was founded on the promise of upholding peace, justice, and universal human rights. Today, however, it appears less like a beacon of morality and more like a stage for savagery and hypocrisy.

The UN is quick to condemn democratic nations such as the United States and Israel for defending their citizens and fighting terrorism, but goes out of its way to protect, coddle, and even elevate some of the world’s most brutal and oppressive regimes — most notably Iran. The UN, which should be standing with the oppressed, is instead handing power and legitimacy to their oppressors.

Conservative push to end Canada’s ‘anti-merit’ DEI programs receives support

A Canadian analyst praised Conservative Party efforts to end “illiberal, anti-merit” government-run diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs.

In an October 13 post on X, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre posted a petition to end government DEI programs, which Aristotle Foundation for Public Policy president Mark Milke revealed has led to a deterioration of the Canadian workforce.
