Trump to attend gathering of top generals, upending last-minute plans

President Donald Trump has decided he’s going to the last-minute global gathering of the nation’s top generals in Quantico, Virginia, that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered last week.

Trump’s appearance not only upstages Hegseth’s plans, but adds new security concerns to the massive and nearly unprecedented military event.

“We have confirmation from the White House that POTUS is now attending the speech on Tuesday,” a planning document sent Saturday and viewed by The Washington Post states.

Trump rages at bombshell report alleging FBI had 274 plainclothes agents in crowd during Capitol riot

WASHINGTON — President Trump raged Saturday at the bombshell report alleging the FBI had 274 plainclothes in the crowd on Jan. 6, 2021 — declaring that the bureau’s former director Christopher Wray “has some major explaining to do.”

The FBI had privately acknowledged the existence of those plainclothes agents, despite a Justice Department Inspector General report denying that they were there, according to a Blaze report on Thursday.

Canada’s carbon tax is dead. But it’s not dearly departed

Here lies Canada’s carbon price, which exited our earthly realm on March 31, 2025.

Mark Carney, mere hours after becoming Prime Minister, signed the death certificate in front of TV cameras he had summoned to witness the act. In that final moment, the carbon price was surrounded by many ministers who had spent years defending it in increasingly half-hearted tones. At its deathbed, they were silent.

The policy is survived by the thriving political career of the flexible and pragmatic Mr. Carney, and by that of a wistful and slightly too effective Pierre Poilievre. It was predeceased by Justin Trudeau’s political career.

It won’t be dead until a stake is driven through its heart.

Trump has Maduro in his sights. Will it mean war in the Caribbean?

At the Doral Park Country Club outside Miami, fevered machinations are under way to overthrow a dictator. For years, in this palm-lined enclave, Venezuelan exiles have schemed to pressure US politicians to bring down Nicolás Maduro, convinced history would one day turn in their favour.

Now they believe it has. Marco Rubio, the secretary of state who is the son of Cuban immigrants, has worked to convince President Trump that Maduro is not only a socialist dictator, but a “narco-terrorist” out to destroy the United States with boat-loads of fentanyl-laced cocaine weaponised to poison American children.

Amid threats of annexation, could Canada and Greenland grow closer?

Miilu Gehlert has just spent hours captaining a water taxi deep into the Nuuk Fjord, a winding waterway that lies just north of Greenland’s capital.

But it’s far from the most difficult task he’s had to navigate.

“We were out for four days and maybe managed to get around 10 hours of sleep in four days,” he recalled of one tour. “Full of mosquitoes, not a lot of sleep, had to keep an eye open for enemies — yeah, it was tough.”

Drug traffickers livestream torture and killing of young Argentinian women and girl

The murder of two young Argentinian women and a girl whose torture by suspected drug traffickers was livestreamed on a private Instagram group has sent shock waves through a country unused to such extreme levels of narco violence.

Brenda del Castillo, 20, Morena Verdi, 20, and Lara Gutiérrez, 15, went missing on Friday, after they were lured to a house in the outskirts of Buenos Aires by a promise that they would be paid US $300 for taking part in a “sex party”.

Instead, authorities say, they were seized and tortured by the traffickers, who streamed the abuse to 45 people via a closed Instagram group, before killing them and burying them in plastic bags outside the house.

BARBER: Prime Minister Carney’s “rupture” is not what he claims

Carney’s “rupture” isn’t America’s doing — it’s the collapse of his own globalist illusion.

At the beginning of September, the Prime Minister, speaking in Mississauga, stated that the changes initiated by the Trump administration were not a “transition” but a “rupture.” He expanded on this, emphasizing the rupture’s adversity and calling it “a new age of economic nationalism and mercantilism.” He continued to use this message to rally Canadians under the flag of patriotism. This is “elbows up” without the elbows.

Climate Protest Calls for Violence Against “the Old White Men”

The violent rhetoric of a climate demonstration held in Berlin on Saturday, September 20th, has led to a request for a parliamentary inquiry, at the initiative of Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) MP Markus Matzerath.

During the protest, organized by ‘Fridays for Future,’ calls for violence—including incitement to murder—were openly displayed and, alarmingly, echoed by prominent figures. One protester brandished a sign reading ‘BURN THE OLD WHITE MEN,’ in a stark example of the radical tone permeating the event.

Muslim charity’s lawsuit accuses Stoney Creek church of ‘bad faith’ in preventing Islamic school lease

A Muslim charity’s lawsuit alleges a landlord cancelled a new lease agreement with the organization after a Hamilton pastor — with a church that would be sharing the space — made Islamophobic comments during a recent service.

The Toledo Foundation was hoping the new space would host its Islamic school and said the cancellation has impacted dozens of children who had set their sights on attending it this fall.

The lawsuit, filed Sept. 17 in Ontario Superior Court, is against Great Life Church and the company that owns the building where the church operates in Stoney Creek, a community in Hamilton.
