On Jan. 28, 2022, Richmond, B.C., teacher Nicole Kowal-Seafoot told a colleague before a class presentation that, “I might be losing my job today.”

More than four years after she lost her job, for a presentation that was in favour of the self-styled “Freedom Convoy,” which protested vaccine mandates at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, a labour arbitrator ruled that the Richmond School District’s decision was excessive.

Kowal-Seafoot’s presentation to her Grade 6 and 7 students featured a caricature of former prime minister Justin Trudeau with his head on a chicken.

A new Rasmussen Reports poll finds a majority of likely U.S. voters — 60 percent — believes that the constant barrage of negative coverage of President Donald Trump likely contributed to the latest assassination attempt. The national telephone and online survey of 1,076 Americans, conducted April 27-29, shows 41 percent of those surveyed think it “very likely” the media’s one-sided treatment had some influence. A mere 13 percent of respondents said it’s “not at all likely” that the media has some culpability.

Germans deserve answers after the Leipzig car attack

Monday afternoon’s car attack in a pedestrian zone in Leipzig – a city celebrated for its Bach choir and its proud history of pro-democracy demonstrations before the fall of the Berlin Wall – has left two people dead and dozens injured. A 63-year-old woman and a 77-year-old man were killed, while three others are in a serious condition.

The suspect, a 33-year-old man born and raised in Leipzig, was arrested at the scene. Authorities were swift to announce he had no terrorist affiliations – a declaration greeted by some commentators almost as a relief. But the relief is premature. The hard questions are only just beginning.

Christian YouTubers Prosecuted for Criticizing Islamic Antisemitism in Germany
