Mysterious alien space signal may finally have been solved

A mysterious “extraterrestrial” radio signal picked up in 1977 is likely to have a natural origin, scientists have found.

The infamous “Wow” signal sparked global interest when it was captured by Ohio State University’s Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) project nearly 50 years ago.

The team, which was scanning the sky for signs of intelligent life, detected a powerful, 72-second radio burst so unusual that leading astronomer Jerry Ehman scribbled “Wow!” on the computer printout.

The Troubled and the Committed

The UJA’s $1 million Gaza donation isn’t about the money. It’s a choice between pandering to Jews defined by their unease or standing with the untroubled few who will carry Jewish life forward.

On Aug. 8, the UJA-Federation of New York announced a donation of $1 million to help the people of Gaza. The funds, delivered via the Israeli humanitarian NGO IsraAID, would be used, a statement explained, “to provide food, medicine, and the installation of filtration systems to enable safe drinking water for displaced families.”

The decision sparked a controversy that grew into a maelstrom. Taking to social media, WhatsApp groups, and every other platform designed to gauge the temperature of public opinion, many, myself included, criticized the decision as incomprehensible and argued that to give even one shekel to an enemy at a time of war was not only colossally stupid but also morally depraved.

This is an interesting read offering insight into the sometimes Jewicidal politics of the diaspora.

PBO report shows ballooning bureaucracy costs as Carney urged to cut spending

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is urging Prime Minister Mark Carney to slash the size of the federal bureaucracy after a new Parliamentary Budget Officer report projected government labour costs will continue to surge.

“Taxpayers already pay too much for the bloated federal bureaucracy and this report shows those costs will continue to balloon unless the government finally cuts spending,” said Franco Terrazzano, CTF Federal Director.

Jesse Kline: Ottawa spent $1.5B and all I got was this over-priced Gem streaming service

Since it launched in 2018, CBC’s Gem streaming service has been a slap in the face to Canadians. Ottawa takes around $1.5 billion a year out of our pockets, ostensibly so the public broadcaster can provide reliable news and support the domestic film industry, but if Canadians want to watch CBC News Network without a cable package, or tax-funded programming without ads, they have to fork over an additional $5.99 a month.

The Demons Have Taken Hold of Minneapolis

We’ve seen the demonic advance throughout our culture over the past decade and more.

On Wednesday morning, the students at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis were attending a Mass in the church next to the school when, suddenly, the stained-glass windows were shattered by a hail of gunfire.

The fusillade didn’t stop immediately. Witnesses said that between 50 and 100 bullets were pumped into the church, injuring at least 15 of the students badly enough to send them to the hospital and killing an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old.

Carney government has two duties to younger Canadians, and one is to offer real hope

TORONTO—The Carney government has big plans for a new and, it says, a more prosperous Canadian economy—but much of what it hopes to accomplish will take years before we see a material difference. In the meantime, support for big change may whither unless immediate threats are not addressed.

Two big challenges require careful monitoring. One is the rise of unemployment and the fall in opportunities for younger Canadians. The other is the huge volume of household mortgages that must be renewed this year or next, with higher interest rates and hence higher repayment levels, and at a time when the economy faces the prospect of higher unemployment and weaker wage gains to offset higher mortgage payments. Young home-owners who were first-time buyers at the height of the real estate bubble when mortgage rates were especially low are also especially vulnerable.

Carney won’t do squat. Mass immigration will leave us all impoverished and that’s what he and his cronies want – easy pickings.

Ontario premier Doug Ford’s party spent nearly $300,000 on novelty ‘Canada is not for sale’ hats

Dealing with the unprecedented threats from Donald Trump’s threats to Canada’s economy and sovereignty have required unconventional strategies from federal and provincial leaders, including barring liquor sales and cancelling contracts with Tesla.

But among the more unorthodox strategies to hit back against the US is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on novelty hats.

In January, sensing a marketing opportunity after Trump threatened to annex Canada, an Ottawa-based company began selling hats with the message “Canada is not for sale” in capital letters. Days later, Ontario premier Doug Ford – a blunt-spoken, burly populist with a knack for politics – entered a high-stakes meeting with other premiers and the prime minister wearing the hat. The move kicked off a frenzy of online orders and created a rare moment of political consensus.

Police warn over misinformation after incident involving Dundee girl, 12

Police Scotland have warned the public not to share misinformation about an incident in Dundee involving a 12-year-old girl after online speculation was amplified by Elon Musk.

Scotland’s first minster has also accused the multibillionaire X owner of undermining community cohesion.

A 12-year-old girl was charged with being in possession of offensive weapons after an incident in which a Bulgarian couple were approached by young people in St Ann Lane, Dundee, on Saturday evening.

Damn, that was such a great meme too.

Zombie Knives Don’t Kill People, but Banning Them Kills Liberty

In July, 25-year-old Brit Sam Jacques had his home searched and was charged with possession of a knife—in his own home—and was fined the equivalent of about $900. The knife fit the criteria of a category called a “zombie-style knife” and was therefore illegal in the United Kingdom, even though there was no evidence of wrongdoing or evidence that Jacques had any intention to harm anyone.

The Americans are selling Canadian natural gas to Europe at a profit

Amid growing criticisms that Canada dropped the ball on exporting its natural gas to Europe, the Polish ambassador to Canada said in a recent interview that plenty of Canadian gas is indeed finding its way to Europe — but via the United States at a markup.

“Remember; some of the LNG that’s coming from the United States to Europe, to Poland, is also Canadian … but it’s being sold for a much higher price,” Witold Dzielski told CBC after being asked whether there was Polish demand for Canadian LNG.

Qatar Does Not Seem Interested in Any Deal that Ends the Rule of Hamas in the Gaza Strip: What Qatar Is Saying in Arabic

As the US and other Western countries continue to rely on Qatar to broker a ceasefire-hostage deal to end the war in the Gaza Strip, senior Qatari journalists affiliated with the Qatar’s state-run media continue to praise the Iran-backed Palestinian terror group Hamas, and are even calling for Hamas to kidnap more Israelis.

Qatar, which has long been supporting Hamas and currently hosts its leaders in Doha, already uses its Al-Jazeera television empire as a mouthpiece for Hamas and other Islamist terror groups. Since the beginning of the Gaza war, triggered by the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led attack on Israel, Al-Jazeera — in Arabic — has been providing a platform to Hamas leaders to praise the massacre of Israelis.

Why fires have become the new front in the post-COVID fight for ‘freedom’

When two months of no rain had reduced Nova Scotia to a “tinder box” as Premier Tim Houston put it, he ordered people to stay out of the woods.

Many people accepted the measure, which came into effect in the first week of August, as a necessary way to reduce the risk of a stray spark igniting a blaze that wouldn’t be controlled. Others were furious.

“People are effectively prohibited from entering nature for the rest of the summer,” read one angry post on Facebook that has been interacted with hundreds of times. But the poster, who has tens of thousands of followers, didn’t seem to be in any danger of going anywhere near a Nova Scotian forest, permitted or no.

The corrupt Liberal Party lies about everything and their abuse of the Covid ‘crisis’ kiboshed all faith in government. Don’t blame citizens.
